  1. I just wish he hit with more power this year.
  2. I support move, but feel bad for Connor. He had plantar fasciitis right? I imagine that really affected his offense this year. Glad we get to keep watching Saladino though.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 05:21 PM) Diamondbacks signed first-round shortstop Dansby Swanson. There never seemed to be any real worry that a deal wouldn't get done, but it wasn't officially agreed upon until right before Friday's deadline. John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM in Phoenix says Swanson will receive $6.5 million, which is significantly under the recommended slot value for the No. 1 overall pick of $8.6169 million. Swanson is expected to be a pretty quick mover. Wow way under slot The oddest part about that is they didn't even use that slot money they saved from that deal.
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:50 PM) The comp pick is likely to be 40ish, that's no great shakes really. Even a single "B" prospect and an interesting A ball arm is better. PoSit ion doesn't matter. The extra budget makes for a more interesting draft.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:37 PM) You could be right, but I see Saladino being sent down. Conor was a golden boy entering this season. He was supposed to be OUTSTANDING for us this season. Can't see them pulling the plug. Haha, what?
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:14 PM) Darn guys, you made me look up some Danks outings. July 3 vs. Balt: 7 innings, NO runs. June 17 vs. Pitt: 7 innings, 5 measly hits, three runs. a bit farther back May 31 vs. Houston: nine innings, 0 runs. May 16 vs. Oak: 7 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs. May 10 vs Cincy: 7 inns, 6 hits one run. Now coupled with tonight, 3 of his last 5 outings were DANDY. Seriously, he's no Phil Humber; he's no Carroll. He's not batting practice, folks. He's still coming off that injury. Just cause he makes a TON of money don't hate on this player. You skipped his TOR game
  7. Would you guys like Hawks thoughts on maple bats?
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:18 PM) This team is consistent to say the least. I can't believe though how this group has forgotten how to hit. What weirds me out is how it seems like some of the team is starting to pick it up, and yet the results are the same.
  9. curious to know if I would have told you Eaton's OBP would drop in exchange for increased power if people would take that. In this hypothetical, it does not drop a full 40 points as I assume this season he will get a bit closer.
  10. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:47 PM) I wonder what the Sox record would be if they had ML average bats there. I wonder what it would be with an elite defense.
  11. Have Royals lost yet this year when leading after 7?
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 6m6 minutes ago Before Geovany Soto's homer today, #WhiteSox catchers entered 14th in #MLB with a combined .674 OPS. That blows my mind.
  13. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) those stats while true are an after thought. i can't argue against stats. but i will debate moving an asset to get Puig and leaving the holes unaccounted for. this team first needs to be able to field a team to challenge the other teams. then it can fine tune the other parts. this trade, whether others agree or not, will expose the team with more problems. To field a team to challenge other teams requires star talent at at least one position. We have pitchers, but only one DH who is particularly good.
  14. Getting honest to god elite talent from a position player is a nice return for Q. I have no confidence in us correctly judging minor league hitters and getting them to big leagues. I have every confidence we will field a great pitching staff for next 4-5 years.
  15. OH, I got a good one: Jose Valentin.
  16. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) As long as this thread is talking about trading Q for an outfielder, why not Q for Cargo? I would rather have Cargo than that head case from LA. Really? Cargo can barely play 80 games a year it seems like.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) Dodgers badly want to move Puig to add a pitcher and give them protection for Grienke walking. Given surplus value in Q, I think the base package make sense, but If I am Rick, I want something else in addition. I'm willing to dangle Anderson if we get Seager back (upgrade of prospects). I'd also be willing to include Avisail or some bullpen pieces as well to help get another more valuable prospect in return. I do think if we got a young outfielder, Puig would be one that made a lot of sense. You'd be willing to dangle Anderson for SEager? Like...top five prospect in all of baseball seager? I mean, yeah of course you would but we couldn't even get Seager for Q straight up.
  18. not sure why we'd need to give up Avi even if it doesn't make sense to keep him.
  19. He has an elite tool that doesn't exist in this system, not surprised people were excited. Granted, thinking the sox could turn someone who couldn't hit into a hitter when we turn players who can hit into crap is somewhat amusing.
  20. Not sure Rondon can have the bust label applied. Don't remember much expectations there.
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) I'm going tonight and the last two I went to he was on the mound. God damnit. I'd be happy with literally anyone else. I just did a tally 4 starts - danks 1 start - Q (the awful, horrible postponed in the 7th KC royals tie game in 35 degrees and pouring rain) 2 starts - Noesi 1 start - Rodon No games from our #1/#2 pitchers
