Give Beckham a Long Term Deal Today!
QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 12:23 PM) [/b] They already did that at 2nd base. Well, at the time (May 10th) they had not. Interesting how time passes.

**SPOILER THREAD** GAME OF THRONES ** SPOILER THREAD **
QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 10:13 AM) Sensational episode. But I've got to say I agree - I laughed out loud at no one on Jon's boat paddling. I also thought it was kind of funny that the Others were stymied by a very small distance of water... But that's nitpicking what was, start to finish, an amazing episode. They have basically no body fat, how buoyant could they be?

**SPOILER THREAD** GAME OF THRONES ** SPOILER THREAD **
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 1, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) Yup we caught that immediately, if it doesn't go that route now then I would be shocked. Great great episode last night, of course there were the nitpicking things like "WHY IS NO ONE PADDLING" but that whole portion was done well. The whole valyrian sword scenes were perfect, when Jon killed the white walker we pretty much went nuts. The exchange between Tyrion and Dany was great as well, the writers do some characters just so well. And if the fighting pits scene is next week I would imagine that we would also see Dany take off then as well with Drogon. I'm interested to see what Jorah does. Ha, the scene at the end with Jon watching, I couldn't help but think that rower was way to chill to not even turn around as a death army was rising its dead. Dude is just a boat paddler, he pays no mind.

QUOTE (scs787 @ May 31, 2015 -> 05:13 PM) Dream scenario if that last post I made was possible.... Sign Green. Use the MLE on Jason Smith. Draft Tyus Jones. Rose/Jones/Moore Green/Snell Butler/McBuckets Pau/Niko Noah/Smith If guys like Snell and Dougie turn into good shooters that team would have range for days. Hinrich will certainly grab his player option.

So How Does Hahn Fix This Mess?
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 31, 2015 -> 03:57 PM) How is any lineup sustainable? There's always turnover. I don't think young impact players are some new market inefficiency. They've always been important. The Sox just suck at doing it consistently so it gets magnified around here. If you are bad at something that's important you better be excellent the other important things. The sox had a great run with free agents, now they have not. The sox had a good run of acquiring pro ready prospects and plugging them in, they have still done pretty well here. The problem with relying on FA is obvious, when you are already paying players full value you get much less when you try to trade them. Drafting and developing players just makes everything easier, and the sox who are good at pitching but horrendous at hitting, are seeing what happens.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 31, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) Chuck is a great pro. I'm liking him more and more . Swirsky is in his 50's but compared to Hawk he's a spring chicken. Nice to see some youthful energy in the booth. Also, I frankly like the "I don't know what I'm talking about STeve, so why don't you explain this a bit more" schtick. I liked when he challenged STone on the Batting Average, it was an interesting exchange.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 31, 2015 -> 02:33 PM) This is Otano's third go around in the DSL and the first two were pretty terrible. I would keep my expectations low with him despite his toolset. I feel like it's easy to keep expectations low with international signings.

QUOTE (kev211 @ May 31, 2015 -> 02:32 PM) Chuck and stone are very enjoyable to listen to. This is our glimpse into post-hawk, and I have to say, having a true play by play guy is making these games so much better.

If gibson is back, this is the small lineup we are talking about. Rose/Snell/Butler/Miro would be really interesting here.

Would be shocked if sox went over amount. JR does not seem to like exploiting rules like that.

2015 MLB Draft
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 31, 2015 -> 11:43 AM) I know you're just saying you'd like that but I think we can safely limit the Sox to college pitchers. Stephenson's swing is vicious though. Unfortunately, it seems like Harris is their backup plan which sucks for me. Not to throw out a lazy, convenient comparison but he's more of a Broadway/McCulloch type than someone we could get really excited about. Both Kiley McDaniel have alluded to Harris being the back up if Jay/Fulmer (probably were't considering Tate sliding which I still see as remote) there at #8. Law also amped up the Sox-Jay connection last week. Even insinuated that Colorado could craft their offer to Jay around the Sox slot value plus a kicker. This is very real scenario. All depends on what Texas is doing in my mind. They've been hush-hush and could go with any of Bregman/Cameron/Tate. Nothing is ever set in the draft but it seems like your first three picks, with Swanson/Rodgers being interchangeable, are close to consensus at this point. Would be interesting to know how accurate those backup rumors are. It was around this time last year Nola to the sox was all over the place, especially that we'd draft Nola over Kolek. Had Rodon not been there, would be interesting to know if that were true.

QUOTE (scs787 @ May 31, 2015 -> 12:58 PM) A lot of people want Jo gone, but in your opinion wouldn't he fit the bill as that point forward perfectly? Watching highlights, looks like Niko could be similar to Niang. Though Niangs post game looks better. All I know is I really hope they can somehow grab Wes Matthews or Danny Green in FA. If hoiberg is a great coach I'd like him to creat an offense that works best for this personnel, not for his offense.

So How Does Hahn Fix This Mess?
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 31, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) Channeling my inner Dick Allen, the Sox lineup in the 2008 playoffs featured zero players the White Sox drafted. Alexei was the only player that had played only for the Sox. The value of prospects seems to have changed. I used to feel confident that we could find a CQ, Uribe, etc ( worse examples being Jimenez, Harris), but they are so expensive. This is the formula Hahn used but avisail, eaton and Davidson took some legit talent to acquire, so... It all goes back to drafting.
