  1. QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 10:27 AM) Everything you will read this spring about Rodon starting the season in Chicago will be completely driven by the media. In the example of this story, I'm sure he was asked if he's ready now, and of course he said yes because who wouldn't. There is no doubt that the Sox already know he will be spending time in Charlotte this year. And there's no doubt that's the smart decision. There are also legitimate arguments, which many are making here, that he isn't ready anyway. Did you read paul sullivan's terrible article where he's basically claiming sox are idiots if he's not up right away because Sullivan saw one 2-inning spring training?
  2. I don't understand why Rodon should play the game of rooting for the White Sox to get another year of his performance at sub-market value. I understand why we fans want it, but I don't understand why he should also be totally onboard for not getting paid all he can for his ridiculously rare talent.
  3. I think I watched that Curry clip like 40 times, just mesmerizing. Really rooting for GS to make the finals, will just be too fun. Unless bulls miraculously make it, then hopefully like, the kings are there.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 09:57 AM) 49ers looked like they were going to be a powerhouse for years. Now they might be the worst team in that division. Certainly looks that way. But this is a good draft for them to start loading up on defense again and to finally find some WR depth. It is crazy the NFL disparity. Obviously with 52 players, there is going to be some less impact in total salaries. But it is insane considering the billions in that league how basically the top players (QBs) are talking 60 million contracts (when guarantees are factored in only), and that was basically Melky Cabrera, somewhat sought after LF.
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 09:14 AM) Wow, he's only 30, did hear he might get cut too. Would look great in a Bears uni. But...he's retiring.

Episodes 7-9 of unbreakable kimmy Schmidt was some of the funniest tv I've seen.
  7. They can probably cut one without consequence. It means nothing. Not that cutler is here to stay, but Shaun hill signing is inconsequential.
  8. Because of Shaun hill?
  9. Man people are really aggressive about a pretty innocuous comment.
  10. I have no hate for conte. For his sake I wish he'd retire.
  11. Any viewing options for this one?
  12. FWIW, VDN was a horrid in game coach, but looking back, he does pretty well developing players, especially young teams. I think there are worse coaches. It's not like Doc Rivers took over the clippers and they became much different.
  13. Hinrich is the only guard the bulls still have who can fight through screens. But he sucks, but I just wanted to mention that.
  14. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 12:48 PM) Yep, like Cobb, Maclin or Cooper in the draft. All of these guys I would rather have than Marshall. Its not even about Marshall and his antics, like many have said already its about his production and his age that makes this a good move. Cooper is certainly great, I would question the use of #7 to acquire him thou.
  15. I'm actually kind of surprised by this after the projections for the central were so weak.
  16. Then there's only one thing left to do
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) remind me again why this is such a great move? The Bears are CLEARLY worse without Marshall than with him. And for what? 3.9 million in extra cap space (when cap space is a non issue and we have a paucity of internally drafted players that will be due bigger payouts in the near future ) and a 5th round pick? I realize they got something for him instead of nothing, but why did they have to cut him in the first place? Because they will be paying him $10 million a year to decline on a rebuilding team. Why is that a strategy?
  18. I think you are assuming that people aren't asking, which is incorrect, they ask in every interview with him. He just says he's evaluating.
  19. Booker/Clinton are redundant. Need a non-hawk.
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 10:59 AM) I personally don't believe Mariota is an NFL starting QB but a part of me wants to think that Pace and Fox see something in him and think that he is going to be great. And that it winds up working out because they are waaaay smarter than me and thats why they do what they do and I am just a fan. Thats what I would like to happen. I would like the rams to trade up to 7 for a 3rd.
  21. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 11:23 AM) As I said earlier, replacement players often outperform expectations when starters are out, so it gives the perception that we can win without our best players. I think Thib's teams win with effort as much as talent, especially on defense and rebounding. When we are the favorites or when we're playing ahead, guys get complacent and start coasting. We lose the advantage in the effort department. It's a bit frustrating at times, but I think it's true. I also think this was a "this year" thing re: coasting. Also - team started looking good on defense when Noah turned a corner in february, and MDJ came back. Noah is a force right now, he was not good in nov-jan (shocking).
  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 10:45 AM) If Marcus Mariota fell to the Bears would you want them to take him? I'm starting to think that might happen. That would be a tough call. No. I do want people to think the Bears could take him thou.
  23. Has Kottaras started yet?
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 10:44 AM) Never underestimate free agency. Watch the deal a guy like Torrey Smith gets. $$$$$$. Well if that's the case stay out of it. But this is a year where Marshall is especially expendable.
  25. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 6, 2015 -> 10:28 AM) It would probably be best to avoid spending any huge money on a WR in free agency. They probably aren't going to be good for a year or two. Why sign a 28 year old WR for big money. They also have Jeffery who will be a free agent after next year. He will probably want 9-10 per year. I wouldn't be surprised if they took one early this draft and one late. I don't think you'll need big money to sign a decent #2 this year.
