I also thought Ldamian Washington would have a good shot since he was a gunner in college and could return kicks. But he barely got any snaps. I hope he goes to CFL.

Honestly, I highly recommend. We saw parts or wholes of 5-6 matches. I'd definitely go the 1st or 2nd weekend (preferably 2nd, where there is still a ton of tennis but better matchups). So about $78 for a ticket and we saw all that, stayed at night to watch roger on TV outside the stadium. I can't think of anything else like that in major sports, beside the Olympics.

I had an amazing time on Friday at US Open. Best match was granollers vs ivo karlovic or Venus Williams match. I caught wozniacki vs petkovic at the grandstand which was a bit of a breezy win for woz but was my only match at the grandstand which was sooo awesome. Also caught tail end of Taylor Townsend and Donald youngs mixed doubles match.

Saw trip to Italy. It was hilarious, I prefer it to the first.

Hector Noesi & the search for 2 righties

Well it would certainly be lovely if Erik Johnson takes a trip to Oz this offseason to find he had the talent all along. -
I think Al Louis Jean is exciting. At 20 he reminds me of someone like M. Wilson who you really can see them using this time to get stronger and eventually be a contributor.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 29, 2014 -> 02:36 PM) Vanderbilt also almost lost a timeout per quarter because their jerseys said "anchor down" as the last name, and the coaching staff had to dig up an email that proved the NCAA approved the jerseys. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/e...or-down-jerseys Has a team done this yet and not gotten blown the f*** out? -

I'm so glad mizzou plays crap openers every year. -
QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 07:03 PM) Buddy offered me Tavon Austin and Fred Jackson for Lamar Miller, thoughts? I'm really high on Lamar Miller in that new offense. I have huge reservations about Austin performing on that team, but I may be way off. He may be the deep threat Hill connects with.

Bears somehow avoid worst linebacker group label: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-weak...ups-in-the-nfl/ Atlanta Falcons, linebackers The two weakest points of Atlanta’s defense are its inside linebackers and its pass rush — both of which fall under the “linebacker” umbrella when the Falcons play their 3-4. Sean Weatherspoon is out for the year, replaced by some combination of Joplo Bartu and rookie Prince Shembo. Shembo was really more of a pass-rusher at Notre Dame, which I actually kind of like when thinking about inside linebackers in a 3-4. The Cardinals’ pass rush got a significant boost from Daryl Washington getting after quarterbacks, and NaVorro Bowman was a pass-rushing terror when given the chance for San Francisco last year. Still, Shembo is a rookie who probably won’t even get the job, and fellow inside backer Paul Worrilow was merely competent as a rookie undrafted free agent last year. This is a group that seriously needed Weatherspoon. The scariest part for the Falcons is that their pass-rushing outside linebackers might be in even worse shape. Atlanta finished dead last in adjusted sack rate last year and brought in no one to remedy that. Kroy Biermann is back after missing the final 14 games of last season, but he isn’t exactly Von Miller. He and Osi Umenyiora probably aren’t enough at this point, and unfortunately, that’s all the Falcons have. In the running: Cardinals, Giants, Raiders

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 03:51 PM) Navy's uni's for saturday are pretty awesome http://www.elevenwarriors.com/college-foot...inst-ohio-state Under Armour finally hits on one. -
Cobb @ 18. Peterson was a 1st round keeper. Also: our keepers are not if you keep 2 you lose your first 2 rounds. you only lose the round you drafted them in which accelerates each year. So Cobb @ 18 isn't necessarily the 18th player taken.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 03:50 PM) I was under the impression that the areas closest to Russia were very much pro-Russia over Ukraine. Maybe they don't take the entire country, but they can take the part that considers itself Russian, just like Crimea. If that's not the end game, what's the point of fighting along side the rebels in Ukranian territory? I've heard a mixbag. The areas are not pro-Kiev, but also don't want Russia to annex them.

Yeah I think that offense will make the personnel, and really believe in Jordan Matthews. College to pros leaps sometimes don't make sense, but he was literally the only passing offense Vanderbilt had and would still get open at will in the SEC.

I've come to expect when I see a tight game in the seventh to get my espn update of the sox losing by 3 in the 9th/10th. Nice to see a win. Damn, I feel like August is never a good month for the sox.

12 team, I've never made the playoffs in this league. I've never had a good draft. I fell on the bad side of a TE run (also 4 TEs were keepers) QB-Foles WR- Cobb WR - Victor Cruz RB - Adrian Peterson RB - Lamar Miller TE - Cook/Graham (not two TEs, just not sure which to start) Flex - TY Hilton Bench - Hyde, Watkins, Jeremy Hill, McFadden, RGIII K- Prater (autodrafted, sigh) DEF - STL D - Patrick Peterson

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 01:40 AM) Whatever. Give me freakish athleticism with upside over grindy, try-hard all day, everyday. If Lavine was a Bull instead of Doug McGrindy, folks would be singing a differebt tune. Well yes, I would. I have to, at this point, bury all bulls anxieties deeper and deeper, never to rise to the surface.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 07:28 PM) How many people have really hyped him on the board though? A bunch of us have said he'll at least be exciting to watch cause he can jump high, I don't think anyone has went overboard saying he's a stud or anything. There have been more people here declaring him a bust than anything. Eh, pre-draft there was a lot of people gushing over him, but I would need Quinarvy to put something together to see if it was just one superfan.

At what point is this season not considered a success?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 05:04 PM) you are ready to move on from Eaton and Garcia already? No, but that's one of the reasons this season is diappointing. I like Eaton, but at this point I'm pretty nervous he's capable of ever playing more than 75% of his games. Garcia is an unknown, and it makes me nervous that he will not hit for enough power to make up for a light hitting CF/3b'er. -
I only paid a dollar but I'm still pissed.

That said, I have been thinking a lot about it. I was really pleased at the all star break. But at this pace for 73 wins, rather than what I was hoping for, this team is at least another 2 years away, and we are going to have to pay for pitching, which is what people have been laughing about the cubs needing to do for 4 years now. This core is really good (Sale/Q/Rodon/Abreu/Ramirez), but we still could upgrade basically every OF position, C position, 2b, etc. I hope that Semien/Johnson can get there, but I'm not banking on it. Not after we just watched a top 100 pitching prospect forget how to throw. -
Honestly, if Vegas is going to rely on Tourists to fill out the stadium rather than a stable season ticket base, than it is a really bad choice. I hear jacksonville is an up and coming spot!

Well, crap. Gordon is officially out. I don't think the NFL could have handled that ruling any worse. They continue to look like they rule out of spite.
