QUOTE (Felix @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 03:16 AM) What's this 'hype train' you're referring to? Pretty clear from my post: "I just find the hype train on the board"

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 08:12 PM) From Twitter it sounds like Rose played awful again. 3 out of 4 games now... Let's hope it's just rust. 3 out of 4 games...what?

I'm enjoying every day between now and when he commits to UK/kU where I can imagine Tatum going to Mizzou.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 04:10 PM) Isn't that the case anyway? The difference between 15%-20% and 1% is pretty large.

Also, I'm interested to see if this creates any marketing strategies in US from BK competitors. With so few company owned stores, I'm also wondering how much more difficult it will be for them to get any new food item/campaigns out.

Yeah, it has a decent amount of support now but i'd bet it wouldn't get past committee.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 03:34 PM) The next Tyrus Thomas. He showed much more basketball sense than Thomas. But he's gotta learn the point, that's a hard enough transition from HS to College, but even harder college to pros.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 02:58 AM) Brandon Meriweather suspended for two games for yet another dirty hit. At some point he just needs to banned from the league, he's a liability to injure every other player. Seriously, or start fining the team too.

QUOTE (Felix @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 01:58 AM) Gotta love writing off 19-year old kids that have never played a game in the NBA! #analysis I'm not writing him off, I just find the hype train on the board for this kid ridiculous. He is raw as hell. He left early because he hated Alford, which probably shows good character, but it remains that he didn't play a lot of college basketball, and when he did play that when the conference play began is when all that space to work with disappeared. He might end up great, but he's a project. Unless he made huge strides in the offseason I doubt you see much of a Lavine/Wiggins lineup.

2014 Fantasy Football Thread
out of curiosity, when do most fantasy leagues end in here? Our playoffs begin Week 13 (3 playoff games, superbowl week 16), so 8 games suspension would be pretty brutal if I'm out of it by then.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 09:33 PM) I got Gordon late last year and plan on doing so again this year. If the guy put up 1600 yards in 14 games with Weeden, Hoyer, and Campbell, throwing to him, imagine what he does when he has a guy like Manziel chucking bombs to him all the time. If he doesn't get suspended for the full year - hopefully he won't, because he shouldn't - he could easily win some leagues for guys. Same, he singlehandedly got me into the playoffs it felt like. I picked him up for a buck in my auction league this year.

2014-2015 NFL Football thread
Entering the offseason I thought it would be easy to upgrade Lbs. I think part of this is making sure what they had got a chance (Shea/Bostic). But in 2013 offseason it seemed like good vet lbs were a dime a dozen. Then 2014 they were getting paid and seemingly nowhere to be found. I can't believe how soft this unit is at LB. I really thought it would never be an issue to at least get average LBs (see Hunter Hillenmeyer type players off scrap heap). Now I'm wishing we drafted CJ Mosely instead of Fuller.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 25, 2014 -> 06:53 PM) Only saving grace I have is last preseason our defense looked very good only to end up sucking, so maybe the opposite holds true here. This is what I thought!

It's amazing how much better this offense is with Eaton, even if it's psychological.

2014-2015 NFL Football thread
Leaving Friday thinking not that big of a deal. But I'm pretty much banking all hope on our defense on the fact that some vets didn't really care (briggs looked awful/peanut). I felt this last year, I'm really nervous bears are going to become the dallas cowboys. This talented team that's lack of discipline shoots itself in the foot and we have a perpetual 8-8 machine. Here's to pre-season not mattering I hope.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 06:15 PM) Can't imagine the Wolves doing much better than they did in that deal. Might even have to go to a few games this year. They have dirt cheap tickets ($5-$10) on Wednesday nights. Definitely. This is definitely the most even trade I've seen for a superstar.

Official Recruiting Thread II
At Mizzous sbnation site there is discussion on how meaningless locking down borders is in basketball. Only three top 25 recruits went to in state school. I kindve thought it has been overblown for a while. How many city kids identify with the state school? Most kids root for their parents college or some random reason (see Duke).
