  1. Was there any chance we were all wrong?
  2. Post no-hitter hangover. Come on Danksy.
  3. I have a feeling every QB signed next few years will be "most paid ever". Cap is growing a lot and QBs are important. Also, lack of durability concerns with QBs. They are basically soaking up all money that went to RBs as well.
  4. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/mlb-draf...callis-q-and-a/ fun. He thinks Aiken #1.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) Do that many people still listen to baseball games on the radio? let alone when a team sucks that bad. I listened to full sox game on way down to st. louis, and have to say, I was laughing and really enjoyed it. I think I'm actually a Farmer/DJ fan, they are just so awkward together but in a fun way. That said, I'll listen if I'm running errands during game, but mostly watch tv.
  6. After the year he had last year, I'm glad he is being rewarded for the good changes in his approach. If he started to change how he hit and was still terrible, then he'd probably give up on that and keep swinging hard.
  7. As we suspected, the white sox are apparently "in on everyone". predraft, gents.
  8. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 05:26 PM) I hate how when it gets brought up about sale being so good and one of the best people say how they expect him to get injured at any moment. Ok , so until that happens , that doesn't mean you have to take away from what he's been doing. Any pitcher can get injured at any time Agreed. It's like Sale can only get credit for things he has DONE, as if each pitch is his last. For all the dumb predictions analysts make I can't believe they are all so hiveminded that they add on these qualifications on Sale's greatness only being relative to his injury risk.
  9. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 05:43 PM) Odds are that it is true, but, it really doesn't mean anything. A lot of teams will negotiate with multiple players and have preliminary deals in place and will select the player/deal combination they like the best on draft night. So while Jackson may have the details of a deal ironed out, the Marlins are in no way a lock to draft him. Thanks.
  10. So, just after seeing this, what are people thinking odds are that the Jackson report is true?
  11. Rodon Jackson Kolek Aiken Gordon Nola
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) That's WGN local, not WGN America. The only overlap programming between the two are sporting events and the evening news. WGN evening news actually did show up in other states. But yeah I'm a WGN morning man, myself.
  13. I'm pretty happy with .500 considering our 3-5 starters this year. (And 2-5 during Sales injury).
  14. Agree with everyone, I feel like I've been reading weaknesses on players for 4 months and only in past week have I come around on each's strength. I feel ecstatic with Rodon, and happy with Aiken, Kolek and even Nola.
  15. That curve had nice snap but a bit too high
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 03:21 AM) 26.6% K% for Kris Bryant could stand to go significantly down. No need to rush him when he has an obvious thing to work on. In our system that's a good K rate.
  17. Man do Dodgers have any players on a rookie contract on offense? They are like the All 2008 team.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 03:34 AM) I agree not one GM in a open draft would take Alexi over Tulo. Hawk sounds so stupid on this tangent. Eh that doesn't matter to me, apparently no GM would take Sale ever either.
  19. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 03:29 AM) What did he say, I have Vin Basically that McGwire is a gentleman and he only took that to get over a foot injury and it was legal and that was only reason why!! Stone: he was awfully skinny that first year
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 03:15 AM) Hahahaha this guy is a f***in joke. I said the same damn thing out loud.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 12:15 AM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/minor-develop...-152256212.html Yahoo on pitchers Unrelated to article I said 2 weeks ago Marlins like Jackson............7 of top 10 prospects of the Marlins system are pitchers. Marlins want a position player this year IMO. If Miami takes a pitcher, I would be shocked. They could always trade pitchers for hitting prospects.
  22. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 09:08 PM) It does affect Reinsdorf. This is his business. Like it or not, if his players all had long hair and long scraggly beards it will affect their reputation to a good amount of people. Their reputation is huge when it comes to gaining or losing corporate sponsors. Is this the 60s? Long hair and facial hair represent nothing at this point.
  23. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 3, 2014 -> 09:36 PM) This. My problem is with people acting like they are the world's biggest Hawks fans, but they know absolutely nothing about the game and don't care to try, as referenced above. They then make going to games annoying, as they are getting up in the middle of play, taking selfies, talking loudly out of their ass, and killing time between OMG CHELSEA DAGGER. That's when it's a bigger issue for the true fans. People use the Hawks to feel better about themselves. So be it. It's the same for any bandwagon. I'm so cool because I'm a Hawks fan and I can wear this Kane jersey. Look at me! And when the Hawks go down the tubes again at some point, which they inevitably will, they'll be nowhere to be found. I think one issue though is this is the majority of Chicago sports fans. You are describing BEars fans to me. They wouldn't be better had they followed their whole lives.
