QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 3, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) Krygios reminds me so much of a young Goran Ivanisevic. Decent chance he'll be top 20 by this point next year though, just needs to keep improving his fitness, because he already has the power game on the serve and groundstrokes by this point. Apparently Murray told his box to F*** Off during the Dimitrov loss, so something is definitely going on there. Whoever wins b/w Bouchard and Halep will win the Womens. I am betting on Halep to take down this Wimbledon.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 10:38 PM) I still wonder if Pau is actually part of the plan with Melo. Lakers are very open to S&T possibilities. Interesting thing is Melo will be in LA tomorrow as well. Only way I'd want Pau is short-term and not at the 10-12 M number that has been thrown around. I'd rather add a wing player + Mirotic with our cap space. If Bulls wanted Pau for Sign and Trade to send to KNicks...why would they be meeting with him?

I mean maybe, just maybe Thibs went into this offseason thinking they needed to upgrade over Nasr.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 10:52 PM) lol. Post Spurs? Would you guys stop. More rest for veterans? Pop has been managing minutes for the big three since before anybody knew who Justin Bieber was. Last year was nothing new. Shooting? Floor spacing has been critical for at least half a decade now as defensive schemes have gotten better. This is not a new era of basketball now because the Spurs beat the evil Heat. I'm basing this off of the stories of coaches getting players to buy into less minutes this offseason, and the premium teams are paying for shooting this offseason. It may not be a new era, but it is what is driving the offseason. Are you really going to try and act like previous finals successes don't influence what teams do for the next year? Do you remember everyone needing to get small?

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 11:26 PM) I don't really like the idea of Pau as anything other than a replacement for Taj should he be traded. Or maybe if Mirotic is coming over anytime soon/gets traded. Way I see it is Taj/Mirotic should get all the PF minutes, and Jo still should still be getting 35 min per game....How much are we gonna pay for a guy who sees ~14 per game? There are two trends this offseason post Spurs: - More rest for veterans - shooting shooting shooting Last year taj would double up as C often. I think they'd like lineup versatility of Pau-Noah and Pau Gibson, also Pau/Mirotic

Remember when Hammerhead_Johnson had a crusade to prove Tyson Chandler was awesome on the Bulls? He really should have rubbed that in peoples faces in 2011.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 07:51 PM) I can imagine they know somehow, it's raised after a league audit if that tells you anything. Gotcha, I'm hoping it's above even the 63. Read an article that the projected cap had been raised with each 3 prior audits (I guess they are done quarterly).

Looks like shooting is going to net a premium this offseason after the spurs. Makes me feel worse for Patty Mills.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 07:21 PM) From what I can tell it's the 10th, after the "July Moratorium". It's expected to go up to 63 this year and 66 next year.....Luxury tax at 77/81. Is salary cap a grand calculation? I don't understand why teams can't be given more notice.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) Does it work different for RFA's? You normally have to renounce your bird rights if you are going to sign FA's. Lowe had a explainer on this yesterday. Basically, Parsons is only a 2.2 cap hit until signing an offer, but then immediately is the cap hit of the offer as soon as it's signed. However, if this happens post anthony, they can sign him over the cap because of some reason (maybe not birds rights?)

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 04:49 PM) Cap is said to rise up to 63 million I believe. Not sure if that happened or not. Right, when is that official, pre July 10? Because if that's the case, Bulls can clear up to 20 million unless I am missing something (I think I am with Rips contract)

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 04:47 PM) I think, or at least I hope, they mean in terms of his big expiring coming off the books when Love is potentially a FA. Oh, as a FA. Otherwise I have not seen any indication that expiring contracts was what Minny was looking for.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 04:31 PM) sorry if this has been answered, but can the same salary effect from a s & t with boozer be accomplished with an amniesty? Not sure what you mean. Amnestying Boozer gets bulls at about 15 mill, and that's it. You can't go over salary and are signing outright. The reason S&T is attractive is we can go over cap and get exceptions, but salary has to be within 125% of each other (i.e. we need boozer) Amnestying boozer also means we do not get to use any exceptions because we are under cap, and also I believe you just forfeit them.

Harden - 14 mill Anthony - 20 mill? Howard - 21 million That is 55 million of 57 salary cap 2.2 to RFA parsons (for now, bird rights can allow them to go over cap) 57.2 million 9x500k = 4.5 million 61.7 million What am I missing here?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2014 -> 05:24 PM) Rumor has it their pitch is a 5 player super team, which will include Howard, Melo, Harden, Parsons, and another FA (most believe this to be Lowry). Harden is in on the presentation and probably means they are not seriously going after LBJ (or dangling Harden in a S&T). Houston has a much easier opportunity at giving Howard big money as they won't have the same difficulties Chicago has in terms of getting a S&T with Knicks (as Houston can structure its trade without putting in near the same types of guaranteed money). Lin is supposedly on his way to Philly if Melo gives a verbal commitment. I don't see how Lowry could be possible now that he is getting 5 years at around 10 or 12 from TOR. I get that talent wise they are a great fit, and that Morey can somehow fit 3 max deals on his team where the Bulls can barely fit one, but that roster can score 130 and give up 200 points a game. Also, if someone signs Parsons to a deal NOW, it severely limits them. Presti, please please please do not accept Lin for no reason. The penalty for the salary floor is essentially nothing.
