QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 05:52 PM) A lot of those "allusions to a grand conspiracy" were viewers projecting what they wanted the story to be. I got into it too, but it turns out, it was just a love story between 2 men with a serial killer subplot. I thought it was hilarious. The audience got trolled. No it wasn't. It was explicitly in the show that those schools were being used to find and exploit the children, and that there was a "a place down south where a bunch of Rich Men get some good killin"... He threw the gasoline on the fire. I'm not talking about the Hbuntu actual supernatural theories, but there was too much to the broader scheme of the murders that basically just got resolved by saying "Wellp".

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 06:01 PM) @AdamSchefter Steelers will release LB LaMarr Woodley at 4 ET Tuesday, designate him a post June 1 casualty, per source. He will be free to sign Tuesday. Not sure I understand how that works. So he is released and free to sign, but it qualifies as a post-June 1 casualty? So he will still count against the cap until June 1? Why would we not do this with Peppers?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) Well, yes, the purpose of my post was simply to recognize the brief period where he was a monster. He's been s***ty for quite a bit now, and the NFL did its best to neuter the return game, but man, I will NEVER forget the opening kickoff of Super Bowl 41. Or the Cardinals game that we had no business winning, or the Broncos or Rams game where he brought 2 back to the house. It was insane those first 2 years having someone doing what he was doing.

I've always used != as well. Not a fan of using more symbols than necessary. Get with the times, man.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 04:55 AM) Basically, they did a good job fooling you and it didn't meet the demands of what you wanted it to be? I thought it was brilliant in that regard. So Pizzollato specifically says the purpose was not to fool people, but it is great because it did a great job fooling people. It had a show packed with weird allusions to a grand conspiracy, and how do they resolve it in an hour?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 12:52 AM) You can enjoy/appreciate whatever the hell you want. My point is the Bulls have beaten the Heat like 10 f***ing times in the regular season since the big three formed. How is this still a big deal? When are you going to beat the Heat in the playoffs? Noah getting MVP chants and all this fist-pumping and chest-bumping and heart and passion and emotion and whatever is lame. That should happen in Toronto and Washington. Not the third largest market who had the GOAT and saw 6 rings. Typically in sports, when the best team in the league comes to play, with the best player in the league, it's a big deal when your team beats them. And when it's a come from behind extra inning/overtime victory, people tend to enjoy it. I don't know why, that's sports.

Kinda pretty bummed about the True Detective finale.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 11:20 PM) The Lakers beat OKC with an NBDL roster. You think they give a s*** in LA? The Chicago hoops fanbase is embarrassing. When do they ever give a s*** in LA? You're very logic is encouraging bandwagoning. Oh well, if you can't win a championship, why watch or care about any effort, game or drama that your team creates throughout. We might never win a championship with Noah at C, if you didn't take the time to appreciate the things he's done the last 2 years then I feel sorry for you and also do not care about how people should watch basketball. You know who isn't going to win a championship this year? Probably the Trailblazers, you should go to Portland boards and go yell at them for enjoying their winning season.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 09:51 PM) Preach. Essentially if you aren't going to win a championship you should just be pissed all season and hype every other player of teams also not going to win a championship. Fun way to live. I'm pissed the team didn't make the leap, but it's still fun seeing a team play so hard, and a center playing like Noah.

Awesome win.

I don't know about you guys, but my favorite part about baseball is listening to old men talk about their golf swings and how good of a golfer each former and current major league player is.

Very interested for some games this year.

Is mlb broadcasting these games for free or is it just for their gameday or whatever it is users?

Kirk Hinrich is so worthless.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 7, 2014 -> 03:18 AM) Usually, when we're expected by our own fans to do s*** (2007, 2013), we suck. But when our White Sox faithful think we're going to suck (2005, 2008, 2014?), we perform well. Put me at over. I disagree. I felt very negative about the team heading into 2007 and 2013. 2013 was worse than I would have guessed but I didn't think we had a chance at the division. 2005 and 2008 I felt pretty good about. The thing is, I've rarely seen the sox get off to a slow start and then win the division. 2010 was closest to that. So if we start off terrible the writing is usually on the wall.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 2, 2014 -> 09:15 PM) I find it to be highly inaccurate, but maybe you'll have better luck. I actually just searched it two weeks ago when there was reports of flooding. It said the following week would be chilly, but then 40's and 50's average afterwards. That never happened. Yeah that's silly. I had a bachelor party in late march last year and kept checking historical temp and precipitation. It turned out to be right on the money which was pretty cool. That website made march in chicago seem amazing. To me I don't expect 60s consistently until May. 45 and rainy until May.

I help with admissions for my school. I still give money to Missouri as long as they continue taking their responsibility to educate the students across the state equally, through lower admission standards and scholarships. That may make it a "worse" ranked school but I think it's important. That said, I'm amazed how much better the median student is that applies, how much more extracurriculars they do, how much more course work they do. They may not have as many jobs but they are clearly busy. They seem to be well aware that they need a college education to survive. That wasn't the case 30 years ago.

I love this thread. We've learned: -Yes this is the only lawsuit of it's kind but it is DEFINITELY indicative of an entire generation of laziness that no soxtalker can relate to because they all bootstrapped themselves up and worked a food job in their life. -No, we definitely need to keep things in perspective about occupy's contributions to Sandy relief. Though they may have helped a little, it was nowhere near the work done by larger organizations like red cross.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 7, 2014 -> 12:03 AM) Sure hasn't effected Wade. If Noah is recruiting him, then Noah thinks he's a winner. Wade didn't leave to be a #2, he stayed on his team.

I'm fine with Taj going as long as it brings in Mirotic. The bulls will take a hit on defense, but finally will have legit spread the floor options, not just one three pointer guy that they've been trying to run with for 4 years.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) Maybe his bro can convince him to come here afterall? "Per Rotoworld: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent Michael Bennett won't re-sign with the Seahawks before the start of free agency, and plans to test the open market." What you should be reading here is that the money is what's going to convince him.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 10:39 PM) I agree. And he has that Jumpman contract, im sure Nike wouldnt mind pushing that in the city where Jumpman started Yeah, maybe poor choice of words here, but more that with Rose and it being Rose's hometown, I don't think Melo would be the #1 guy.
