QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 06:20 PM) Classic case of damned if you do and damned if you don't. Eh, if he got out of the way he wouldn't have caused a foul, and it would have been a 2 pt play.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) I just use pro football focus. I wouldn't call the rankings gospel, but the people that do the rankings probably know more than either of us, so it's a decent tool to use. Oh, and Andre Smith wants 9 mil a year at RT and is regarded as one of the best (if not the best) RT in the league, so we don't have to use the grading thing with him too much. Fair point, thanks for the info. I'm way behind on football, trying to keep up.

QUOTE (Boogua @ Mar 12, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) I would be pretty happy with that. He actually grades out better than Winston (although not quite as good as Smith). It would also hurt the Vikings. Are these rankings really gospel though? I've heard oline rating is the hardest to grade out.

life expectancy really isn't going up for the poorest Americans, who tend to rely more on Social Security. http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/eco...8e2a_story.html In other words, please don't raise the age for SS.

Alexei called most underrated SS in AL
This makes me want to make an all-sox team of my lifetime. All-time sox lists are fun, but it's annoying putting players you've never watched on there. I'm pretty damn certain Alexei is the best SS of my sox lifetime, which I consider 93 - today. (93 being first conscious year following white sox)

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 06:09 PM) Percy Harvin just got traded to Seattle Great pick-up for Seattle. Multi-dimensional QB, multi-dimensional WR, great RB. Seattle is gonna be pretty good on offense next year.

First Rotation Decision
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 05:26 PM) I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but my feeling is they'll start Sale on Opening Day, and then bring him back on Saturday. Then the rotation is Sale, Quintana, Peavy, Danks, Floyd from there on, with the occasional 6th man when there are long stretches without an off day. Maybe use Santiago in Toronto in mid-April. Yeah, I honestly can't tell, but I could see Peavy going out on day 1 as well.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 11, 2013 -> 04:16 PM) I told a friend the other day, I honestly did not think that Kim Jong Un would be nuttier than Kim Jong Il. I thought the guy would actually have a little common sense seeing how he had some actual exposure outside of Korea. I was wrong He's trying to impress the army leadership.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 10, 2013 -> 06:52 PM) Here's a look at the article with well-deserved skepticism. While there was 1 key passage with that, there was a bunch of bloggy crap where they wrote their thesis before they sat down and were just cherrypicking to prove their point. Their logic is basically that if the NYT language was not condemning it, they were supporting it. Glenn Greenwald school of writing.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Mar 8, 2013 -> 10:31 PM) Is it just me or is this Rose injury thing really getting strange. They are not going to beat the Heat, nobody is. So is he just quitting until maybe they can in a couple of years. When LeBron agreed to go to South Beach all hopes for other teams died. Really? Do you Really think this?

White Sox extend Sale's contract
WOW, this is fantastic! Still trying to figure out what these numbers mean, but I'm very pleased we can lock down Sale. If we are going to develop sparse talent, we might as well lock it down when we hit.

2012-2013 Official NHL thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 7, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) You, sir, are a bastard. Although, the NHL playoffs are a god damned marathon assuming one makes it to the Final round. 2-3 weeks would have him back in the 2nd round! The second half of this NHL season will be really interesting. I've actually been pleasantly surprised how fresh the players still look on these back to back to back trips. I'm hoping it can keep up, but I'm guessing the last few weeks of season we might see some teams grinding through.
