  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) Well, I'm not quite sure you can say Teague is a better option then Foye. I fully expect Foye will get a lot of minutes at the point early in the year (as Teague is adjusting). The guy was a late 1st round pick. The odds that he amounts to anything are very low. He's also a 19year old with 1 year in college expected to play the point. Expect a lot of turnovers. He might be pretty bad this year, but I still think he's a real talent.
  2. I'm kind of excited for Bellinelli. He seems fun to root for.
  3. This is just soooooo familiar. The white sox of the past 6 years have so consistently failed when the moment strikes. But I loved that '10 team, and I love this team, and I really hope that they can put it back together and get into the playoffs.
  4. banking on Thomas being a starter because he's played well in Summer League is not a sound strategy. Keith Bogans lit up summer league.
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 23, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) Where does the $60M come from? Odds are good of it impacting academics imo. Supposedly they are sending someone down to make sure the money isn't getting funneled out of other sports programs and university programs into football. So we'll see.
  6. reading the latest reports, I'd be very surprised if he wasn't schizophrenic.
  7. QUOTE (northside sawx @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) To be ignorant about it is just as bad as posting the tweet, imo. How could you not know? FIRST thing I heard in the radio this morning en route to work was this. And the winky face? Ahh the trouble people get themselves in with social media these days... Gimme a break lady and admit you f-cked up and you might save your job. Personal responsibility these days is no where to be found. They aren't in the United States. This doesn't excuse it, because you shouldn't hop on a trending topic without knowing what it is, but, it would explain why their experience is different than yours.
  8. I haven't seen it, but a movie being "predictable" re: the ending has got to be one of the sillier things. You could tell me the ending of a movie, whether the movie sucks or not is determined outside of that knowledge.
  9. I liked the sports of American sports and the players. They could play in mcdonald character costumes and I wouldn't much mind.
  10. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) What a horrible idea...get ready for the uniforms to be completely ruined. Eh, I don't know. i love Soccer jerseys. Is it any worse to have a nike patch?
  11. When I was watching earlier they said he was just standing by his car when police came. But no, btw, real justice is in fact a civilian court system that tries everyone to judge if they are guilty and then sentencing them. Real justice is not cops just going up and killing people.
  12. Reminds me of "we need to talk about Kevin". This is just awful.
  13. Let's not go about blaming victims. Maybe not top parenting but certainly nothing that their child should be shot to death over. Losing their kid is bad enough without moral police pointing fingers.
  14. I doubt he was actually dressing up as bane. He used some sort of gas, tear or otherwise, and was apparently wearing a gas mask. He also wore a kevlar vest. I'm guessing this had more to do with knowing the theatre would be packed, than anything with the movie. This has worried me for a while, I remember Chechyan rebels had done this in Russia to just terrifying results. The packed crowd + funneled exits, it's just awful. I've been sick for hours after hearing this.
  15. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) Not a Lee fan as well, and I love Mayo. With that said, Lee would fit alot more to what the Bulls needed over Kirk Hinrich. Kirk Hinrich just dribbles the ball underneath the basket, then puts up a bad shot at the FT line or passes it to someone else for a bad shot. Lee has size, can shoot the three ball and is a better defender, right now, than KH. Either way, us Bulls fans lost again. They only like Kirk because he can play the point badly and then move to SG to play badly.
  16. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) oh how annoying this is becoming and not going to go away If I was the teams, I'd be willing to take the risk of bynum without him pledging to renew. He's had injury issues and the home team being able to give an extra year at the max, I feel like that will be a big pull to keep him.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) If they're so damn worried, stop letting him throw 110 pitches every start. Same with Peavy. No kidding. Also find it unnerving seeing peavy advocating abusing the arm early because he did it and he's fine... ... ...
  18. I think with what Lebron showed in the post this past year, we can put to rest the whole "Lebron has it all but isn't willing to do what it takes". He's the best player in the game bar none. Maybe he'll come back next year looking like Dirk, but I wouldn't bet money on it. Even as Wade declines, these next 3 years you'll need that lakers super team to stop Lebron.
  19. You know that Antawn Jamison to the Lakers is sneaky good.
  20. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) Ray Allen ain't s***. He's only the best 3pt shooter in NBa history... but besides that, he ain't s***. /green font I was as shocked as any that the 2011 Celtics didn't win it all with one of the best centers of all time on their team!
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 06:19 PM) And on a team with LeBron, Wade and Bosh, he doesn't have to be premier. How hard is this to understand? Stand behind the line and knock down wide open 3's and play competent defense. That's all he needs to do. I really don't care, and it's not something I'm arguing against. I didn't jump in and say Ray Allen is worthless and will not be able to upgrade on Shane Battier and Mike Miller, I said he's not a premier player anymore. He's not.
  22. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 06:00 PM) Allen was injured during the playoffs, he's an upgrade from what the Heat had, he's still one of the best 3 point shooters in the NBA. He's more than a role player IMO. He's gonna get a ton of open looks and he scares me way more than Chalmers, Battier or Miller. Ray Allen is 38 years old. I won't rely on him to be healthy unless he hires the phoenix medical staff and becomes vegan like nash and dudley. I didn't say Allen isn't good, but he's not premier anymore.
  23. Allen is not a premier talent at this point in his career. He'll be a nice role player no different than Horry.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) Yeah, that would take the sting out of letting Asik walk away. ....and then some.
  25. I guess we'll see what Mike Brown is made of next year.
