QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 22, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Well i meant the tea party policies in effect in Texas. Are they similar to the ones Wisconsin enacted? If so, that would negate your point that they didn't work - they just didn't work in Wisconsin (though I agree with NSS that you're fudging the numbers by not recognizing the cuts in government jobs are obviously going to lower hiring numbers). Has their growth accelerated? It's probably close to the trend line. Texas isn't hard to figure out, it's got growing population and cheap housing. Maybe we should allow more population growth...OH MY GOD NOOOO THE LATINOS

so then should we consider boeing unprofitable?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 24, 2012 -> 04:28 PM) That's a fair assumption, but why isn't it a fair assumption that he'll work on his game to correct these deficiencies? Again, using Rose as an example, his first year he couldn't hit an open jump shot with much consistency. The game plan was to play off of him so he couldn't drive. Over the next two seasons he became a pretty decent shooter, especially from 3. I just see Lin's game as being correctable. Maybe he'll never be the strongest going to his left, but he can work on it and get better. He can certainly become smarter about passing the ball around as he gets more and more comfortable with his teammates and the NBA game generally. Last night a lot of his turnovers were also caused by him getting stuffed near the rim with his floaters. That was the first really physical team he's played, and they happen to be one of the best in the league. pretty much. Because we all know young players never improve upon their turnovers.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 20, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) I actually have bought into Mike James and what he brings. If Watson was traded, I dont think it would be a huge dropoff between Watson and James. The problem is always the dropoff between the backup PG and Lucas. You guys are crazy. Watson has been a fantastic backup. He's no rose, but he consistently maintains or builds upon a lead.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 20, 2012 -> 05:41 AM) The Lakers are already running D-leaguers out there in Fisher and Metta World Peace. Boozer at the 4 in the west? lmao. Kobe would retire on the spot. yeah boozer at the 4 in the west has never happened.

I think when it's all said and done Texas will be in the tourney. They are young and getting better and Barnes can only do so much to keep that talent down. But yes, I think you have it right when you talk about how tough the Big 12 is this year due to losing colorado and nebraska. Because as we've seen, even marginal teams are really tough to beat at home. Anyhoo, my production is kstate rights the ship, and them and texas finish strong and make it. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 7, 2012 -> 06:53 AM) I really hate fouling up 3. I'd rather take my chances with a team chucking a prayer to be honest. Last year's Missouri team has taught me to be very excited with any conference win. This team has 4 of them in 6 tries. The schedule is brutal, but especially so b/c the away games that were real cupcakes were nebraska and colorado. When your easiest road games are oklahoma, texas a&m and osu that tells you somethin. I honestly don't care how much we win by on the road as long as we win. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 6, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Last year was a little awkward though. You recruit a coach at the Final 4. Kind of hard to recruit the man coaching his team in it. And I think it's a little less awkward for Shaka to leave VCU when he did not just bring them their best season ever by far. those jobs finished hiring post-final four. He had every opportunity. -

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Feb 3, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) Actually, they didn't fully reverse course. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-l...tS9mQ_blog.html Call me skeptical til they start awarding Planned Parenthood grants. I think the real story with this organization is about how awful of a charity this really is. 20 cents on the dollar goes to breast cancer research, and another 15 cents goes to cancer screening efforts. If they really cared about finding a cure, you'd think they'd give more to research than they spend on overhead. But instead, the bulk of their money is on public awareness about breast cancer. So that companies can do things like sell a Susan G Komen Breast Cancer awareness handgun. http://seattle.cbslocal.com/2012/02/03/gun...l-pink-handgun/ I'm less familiar with breast cancer charities, but I'll research some better ones and post it here. My favorite charity is charitywater, who will not only take videos once a month of recent wells they've completed, but will also give you a receipt detailing how much money of yours is going to the project, overhead, etc. Great charity! But i'll look into any breast cancer ones that are more transparent.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 3, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) If the recovery keeps up a pace like the past few months, or better, for most of 2012, the election will be a no contest win for Obama. and frankly, if local and state governments could move in the positive (which is going to take a while for the revenues to go up) that would be huge, because I can't remember the last jobs report that had additional public jobs added along with private growth. But this was a fantastic jobs number, especially with it's breadth throughout the industries.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 2, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) No, LeBron could've broken his leg and he'd be crucified if he came into the season all out of shape. Michael and Scottie (Scottie twice) competed in the Olympics after winning a title and didn't use that as an excuse to come into the next season out of shape. I love Dirk. One of the 15 best players the game has ever seen, IMO. But he gets no play here. truth.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 2, 2012 -> 02:26 PM) I said my piece about the pgs earlier so ill leave that one at that. Besides that, I see you're trying to be position dependent but McDermott, Jones and TRob all have to be 1st teamers. And sticking with that theme, if you're going with a pure sg it either has to be John Jenkins(Vandy has underachieved a bit but Jenkins has still been fantastic) or if not him then Marcus Denmon. Denmon has been miserably cold the past 3 weeks. I still love him as a SG but he has some confidence issues right now. But flip pressey is the cure for all your PG ills. -

Oklahoma State was a BCS title contender last year after mostly top 25 finishes throughout the decade. If you are a top 25 program you can have a hot run, and having a playmaker like DGB can catapault you. You are acting like mizzou is some team that just fights for bowl births. We've been a top ten team 3 times in the past 5 years during the season. -
