QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 08:01 PM) he only played 5 games. His career average is 17.4ppg and 7.5rpg Ah, I didn't realize that injury took him out the whole rest of the year. Serves me right for not watching the thriller that was the 2011-2012 nets.

Can someone tell me how 7'0 Brook Lopez only averaged 3.4 rpg last year?

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 06:54 PM) The NBA is broken, very broken. The max deal is such a status symbol now it's ridiculous.
-
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 06:38 PM) He makes under a mill. But reports indicate the Wolves are looking to shed salary by trading guaranteed contracts and taking on unguaranteed contracts. Not seeing how it makes sense to trade Budinger for Korver in that case... If the Wolves are looking to shed salary, the bulls are not a trading partner. period.
-
How much does budinger make this year? Taking an expiring contract might make sense.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 10:16 AM) I haven't watched much TV yesterday and just turned it on.. Are they really working on a trade now that would send Howard to the Lakers? And some of you guys wanna keep our core and wait for Derrick to get healthy? Wowza. Yes, or we could go to the nba all star tree to go pick some all stars. Bulls have their hands tied right now with the cap. Rose being gone ruined the 2012-2013 season, there's no real reason to do anything else beside what they do.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) The Bulls team you knew is not going to be the same next season. The bench mob will be quite different Those changes mean little. Another year of chemistry among rose/Noah is great. Butler easily replaces brewer. The roles are not shaken up, save hinrich once rose is back.
-
Continuity is severely underrated on this board in basketball. The bulls staying pat with this team and then having a bunch of expiring contracts in 2014 really isn't an awful idea. If you shake up this team while rose recovers, the only thing to do is gamble, take a bunch of s***ty expiring contracts and hope to get a really great draft that you have the lottery pick in, in addition to 2015 when you (likely) have a lottery pick plus mirotic coming. But that sends a terrible message to your superstar. The bulls team is really good. They play excellent defense. Look at the runs that memphis and the sixers made relying only on defense.

White Sox trade Osvaldo Martinez to LAD for cash.
bmags replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I really want to know how much he fetches. The Red Sox probably got more for Babe Ruth, non-inflation adjusted. -
He's going to end up on the lakers. period. This is the NBA, and they are the Lakers. This is what they do.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) and Morel's, which forced a move that may or may not have otherwise been made. I have a hard time believing this.
-
People aren't high on him. The nets were almost able to trade him for a lottery protected first. He's just the nicest piece of trash on that trash roster that's available.
-
This is going to fall apart, this is way too much s*** to organize.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) We'll see what other teams are kicking in 1sts, but yeah, it's garbage. Cleveland apparently will only take lopez if they are also getting a 1st, so they aren't going to be giving up a 1st. But yeah, Orlando, who wouldn't want an average center and 3 bad bench players for chances at FOUR MORE bad bench players!?!?! Christ, I hate the lakers but i'd rather take Bynum and no crappy 1st round picks than just a bunch of garbage players plus a solid starter.

Bulls now well poised to beat defending champion heat...of 2005

Obama brings up Youkilis in a speech...mixed reaction
bmags replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Me too. Let's bring back Iguchi for an ambassador role. -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 10:53 PM) Youkils! It looks like it was Youklis, which is forgvble.
-
Are we sure this is not a 1-game placement? Youk has hit .286 vs. liriano for good power (3 2bs 1 hr) vs Beckhams #s.

what are you guys blabbin about, miguel cabrera at 3b is a natural fit!/green /typingtoofasttogetcolors

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) The Tigers defense cost them the game last night (with a little help from the umps). More impressed with the latter, especially with last years million dropped pop flys.
-
From Phil Rogers awful column: "The Tigers have allowed 27 unearned runs, which is the eighth-most in the majors (the Giants have that unfortunate distinction, at 34); the White Sox have allowed only 13, which is the lowest total in the majors." Quite a turn of events.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Korver is a different player this year. He never looked comfortable, even during the regular season. Korver + Boozer both look much improved this year. Part of it is on defense we are using Korver much more effectively, he never gets put in the position where he's guarding wade (like last years playoffs), in fact, look at what he does vs. JJ Redick where he actually dominates in those shooter on shooter matchups. But for Boozer he's just played great. I've been on his bandwagon all year even through all the "HE DOESNT TRY HES JUST DUMB AND STUPID AND HE SUCKS AND HES TERRIBLE HES THE WORST PLAYER EVER" soxtalk posts. Takes a while to learn how to play with a team.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) Can we really compare these two yet? Cespededs with no minor league expereince and Viciedo with three and struggling at times. I am hoping Dayan blossoms and his moving around to different positions probably hasn't helped, but I am not going to say trading Santos and Quentin and letting MB walk were great moves by KW just because we are a few games into the season and they aren't at the top of their game at this point. They are gone and we have a different team for 2012. I appreciate all those three did for the Sox and we are moving on just as they are. It's really ridiculous. Give the guy some time. If I had time, I would go through the threads from last year predicting failure of a number of players after 4 or 5 games. I think Cespedes needs some time. Remember Alexeis first April? He was brutal before reclaiming that spot.
-
Every year there's a thread like this, ready to pounce on how miserable the players we let go are. We are 4 games in. At this point last year Adam Dunn looked like he would not be having the worst statistical year in history. I wish sergio the best, good arm, great story. And unless Molina pans out, our opportunity cost in trading him at that time for molina was more than we received. You don't win trades by having the other player you traded suck miserably. We need to bring in good players if we want to ever be a good team quinarvy's kids are in their 20s.
