  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) Some days I wish that the North would have just let the South go. Im tired of supporting them with my tax dollars, while they refuse to change socially. And that is something youre beloved liberal media never talks about, donor states. Then why are you a liberal?
  2. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 04:55 PM) And love boat issues. Ha, forgot about that
  3. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Sounds like Bryant McKinnie is going to be released or he quit or something. @RavensInsider Bryant McKinnie in a text to me when asked if he's off the team: "Yes." Wow. I haven't followed his career at all, I just remember his long rookie holdout. Has he been a problem off the field?
  4. Romney's plan might actually offer some short-term love. Unpaid for dramatic tax cuts and huge spending on defense will provide a boost to the economy. Of course, it would be atrocious for the deficit, but that's never been a concern now has it?
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) Prison rape is not a punishment for anything and I think it's pathetic that people think somehow that's ok. I don't care what a person did. Yes. It's just an awful accepted fact and guards are often the perpetrators in the juvenile facilities.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:39 AM) But seriously, WRs running into you is a weird experience. I was able to watch the game. Pretty fun/boring in the second quarter. Really impressed by Berkstrasser, he was slingin those balls in there. I'm still pretty worried about playing UGA in week 2 with all of our oline injuries. YOu could tell their inexperience at picking up blitzes, most of the pressures on Franklin were guys coming in untouched. But, Murphy, Lawrence and Hansbrough in the backfield are quite the threat. I think we'll be alright without Josey.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 04:49 AM) When I first read that they used a similar system to the FIFA 12 physics engine I laughed. Supposedly the Madden version is a bit refined, but yeah, it's bad. Well, to me it's better. Still some awkward tackles, but it makes a lot more sense when the rb runs into the lineman. It looks more realistic, less like zelda walking into a wall
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) I'm still waiting for Romney's actual plan to better the economy. Believe in America, aka taking Obama's slogan from 2008 and adding words isnt enough for me, I need actual facts. At least the Godfather of Pizza had an actual though terrible plan before the PAC's outed his secrets. Also, I just hate party politics, I feel that Obama as well as other first term presidents spend too much time plodding forward with their party's agendas in anticipation of the reelection campaign. This is why I think the second term is so much more indicative of who the president actually is. I see Romney bringing a VP with him who really doesnt believe in much that he is trying to do just because his party wanted to appease a certain population. I f***ing hate that concept. Eh, for me electing Obama to his second term is defense. He'll have no leverage in congress to pass anything, and will likely coast on a steadily improving economy. But our hardfought gains will be safer if he's there so I'm going to keep him there. Funny enough, Romney would bring more stimulus with his cuts and defense spending, but obviously the deficit would explode again.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) SC looked like garbage. Defensively they are athletic but undisciplined and the play calling was suspect. I thought Lattimore looked good, but I was worried when he reached down for his knee a few times, maybe thats why they decided not to run him more? If he's 100% like they claim there was literally no reason to ever throw the ball and they probably blow Vandy out. To be fair, that can be expected in week 1. That's why I don't see the reason to ever play a legit team that first week.
  10. I need to stock up on antacids.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) ugh indeed. But I understand, Portman would be struggling if she had to pay taxes on the $30,000 dress she was gifted. Our society is so dumb sometimes. Oh no! I have to pay for my dress like a peasant?
  12. "Natalie Portman's Wedding Dress Tax Dodge: "Natalie Portman's awkward, unflattering $30,000 Rodarte wedding dress was a fashion bomb, but financially it's a hit! Since the pricey gown was a gift from the label, the Black Swan bride worried she'd be paying hefty taxes on the dress. But Rodarte, who is keen to make Natalie the brand's new face, declared the dress on loan 'indefinitely,' meaning Nat wouldn't be on the hook for an enormous tax bill." ugh.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) If you haven't seen it, check out some of the sparring that Robin and others at Crooked Timber did with some of the Bleeding Heart Libertarians over workplace coercion. There's a pretty big rabbit hole of links and posts to follow, but there's a lot of good reading. I have an auction draft i'm preparing for tonight.
  14. My fiancee went to vanderbilt. I root for them to do well when they aren't playing mizzou.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) Here's a timely piece! http://coreyrobin.com/2012/08/30/were-goin...-their-ass-off/ Thanks for posting.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) I agree fully. Now stop blaming people for doing things that are perfectly legal, which you, yourself, partake in, because you don't like them. This countries biggest problem right now is that everyone thinks they are owed something, but they don't owe anything to anyone else. It is everyone else who owes. This country has set up an unsustainable spending structure. Taxing everyone above yourself isn't going to fix that problem. You know, I agree. We need to re-establish that these public goods are worth paying for. Nobody was paying for anything from 2000-2007 in a gov't or private sense. But on the national level I think our public programs are strong and worth paying for. I want to pay for them! However, revenue needs to be raised, and for the past 30 years if the wealthy have gotten good at doing anything it's not paying taxes. So we need to simplify that tax code to ensure they are at least paying something around 30%.

  19. Did anyone else read chris hayes book?
  20. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) Missouri, I know you can do better than this... Oh, and trash talking about a 1960s football game against Florida? Hahaha. This video is excellent. PLEASE PLEASE SHOW US MERCY and never bring this up again.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) Absolutely. With a good announcer you can learn something new or insightful daily. bulls***.
  22. Why should we eliminate any ability to determine whether you are teaching your kids anything?
  23. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) I'm not looking for a WWF style announcer to entertain me with catchphrases. Why not? At this point, knowledge of the game is easy to obtain. Everyone here at the board, is there ANYTHING an announcer could tell you we don't already know about the game of baseball? I'll take the kitsch.
  24. I want to say this about Scal, and I truly believe it. That dude was a much better bball player than people give him credit for.
  25. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) A quick googling seems to indicate that a couple of women in the ad are registered Democrats, which, without some additional information, isn't a problem at all. The whole point is that they used to be Republicans but now aren't. This still doesn't compare to the welfare work requirements blatant and complete lie that the Romney campaign has been running with for weeks now. everything is equal.
