QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) As it relates to the average American, yeah, i'd say dick pics of a Congressman has about as much impact on their day as what some guard in a prison camp in Iraq did. I don't think I ever said that was right/wrong, that's just the way it is. I think this is the most cynical thing I've ever read.

no faith and no patience in this organization
bmags replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
that's because when you have a stretch in the beginning of the season every year where you put yourself a large number below .500 and then climb back at an unsustainable winning pace, you then begin to go back to a sustainable pace and lose the division because of another s***ty april/may under your manager/GM. And each time we'll have said "this division is winnable!" -
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) Wow, so white people do riot?According to the US media they don't...as if they never heard of the word hooligan. They weren't rioting, they were just stocking up on supplies and removing debris from the street. And creating new doorways by breaking windows.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) Glad I restrained my desire to throw in quotes from J4L, Mark Harmon/Gibbs from NCIS (another managerial candidate), Harvard philosophy professor Michael Sandel and The Green Lantern on "courage and hope versus fear" (of the Twins). hahahahaha -

That actually...was...a...great, coherent caulfield post! -
QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 04:26 AM) That's s***ty. Minny has a rep as a gay-friendly city. Yeah that really is strange to happen about a month after being ranked like, #1 gay-friendly city. (Or maybe it was by population).

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 03:30 AM) How do they make their money? And those "hiring solutions" are just beginning to really hash out. It's got a lot of users and is continuing to grow, but also has some pretty talented engineers on their team. edit: link http://www.mediapost.com/publications/?fa=...;art_aid=150710

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) I would have much rather chase after someone like Charlie Rangel like that. That's the thing, I would much rather there been the cattle call to all democratic leaders to oust him than Weiner for a really low level "sex without sex" scandal.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) This would happen in a lot of cities after championships if the police weren't prepared for it. when was the last riot prior to this? Denver in 01?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) It is trading at about 50% of its high from the day of its IPO. We are almost out of the 30 day Blue Sky window for it. Wait until the Put trading kicks in. Good. The company is a good company, imo, but was clearly selling too high. Part of the problem is people thinking they'll take advantage of a bubble. The good news is this is not staying so over inflated.

this is just a publicity stunt for POTC4

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) I would do that and then if the weather is going to be nice, try to rent out a patio at a bar up north like Cody's or even something more on the main drag. I say Cody's because they have outdoor darts and bags. And grills. Great rec.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 15, 2011 -> 12:09 AM) Painkillers are worse than the pain. They make me dizzy and uncomfortable. I'll take the pain, thanks. Yeah, pain isn't bad, it's the blood/maintenance driving me nuts.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Lebron totally backtracking from his comments. LOLWHATASCUMBAG. "It was interpreted different than what I wanted...Everyone has to move on with their lives and I do too. I wasn't saying I'm superior to anyone else." To be fair, when I watched it, that is what it seemed like he was saying, but also when I watched it, I knew it would cause a s***storm. -
they have a really great crust for doing it.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 11:16 PM) Yeah, I'm just kind of bored and was thinking of doing this for dinner before the Sox game. Would be using a gas grill. Do home run inn, for best results.
-
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) Anyone ever try grilling a frozen pizza? Yah, home run inn. It was fun but prolly not worth the coals.
-

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) That's good times right there. I'm surprised you ran out of gauze, the bleeding is normally self-contained after a good two hours. ...if i'm still bleeding like this should i call someone?

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 11:29 PM) Feel free to derail and explain why a bunch of poor people getting free clothing is a bad thing. People there have markets, too. These are economies you want to develop. People sell things. When you flood them with a bunch of stuff we don't want here, it undercuts those markets, causing harm to actual businesses. Here's a good article about a company trying to spin these gift-in-kind contributions around and highlight charities that do real work. http://www.undispatch.com/t-shirts Some posts: http://aidwatchers.com/2010/01/nobody-want...-help-in-haiti/ (though snarky) I realize it's counterintuitive, telling you how not to donate to the needy. They are, after all, needy. But it really floods the market with free things that are often not needed, and can waste effort trying to organize these least needed things. edit: one way to localize this, is imagine your house burned down. And your neighbors all banded together, collected money for delivery and gave you 1000 free shirts. That's nice of them. But it doesn't really help you in any way, and that money they used to ship it to you, would be way, way ,way more helpful than a bunch of tshirts. I'm not saying the people donating are bad people, but it's important we highlight overseas charities doing REALLY GREAT work that is productive, and not just dumping things haphazardly.
