QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) I wasn't blaming Rhianna at all, he definitely shouldn't of laid hands on her. He forgot that he was Chris Brown superstar and not Chris Brown some dude from Virginia. it would be unacceptable in either description.
  3. fine line between courage and obliviousness
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) I read somewhere recently that Senators are re-elected at a ridiculously high rate no matter how good or bad they're perceived to be. Somewhere around 94% if I recall correctly. Just look at Ted Stevens. EDIT: I was referring to the number of times Stevens was re-elected. Almost forgot he recently lost. Stevens was considered a very good senator for how much money he got for Alaska and influence he had for such a small state in terms of pop.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 08:10 PM) Betrayed the trust of his constituents? When? How does he betray it if he never has it in the first place, for reasons he can't control? Anyone who's running for elected office is acting out of self-interest. Anyone. Are you kidding? If he wanted it so bad, and his years as a mediocre AG who killed innocent people on death row were so great and attractive to become a senator, why not wait for Blago to be impeached then ask PQ for the nomination. But instead he gave this gov. that we all hated, had embarrassed the state, by accepting, gave that gov. more of a platform, more of a voice, and more of a legacy. It isn't that hard to figure out.
  6. I can't hate a 72 year old who acted completely selfishly and betrayed the trust of his constituents? That makes sense.
  7. Because he accepted the Senate nomination and acted like everyone was crazy for thinking that was a big deal. Because as long as he's around Blago still has a legacy. Because he is so arrogant he thinks that he deserves things.
  8. but what does this mean for jeans?
  9. hmm, that didn't get lost in translation.

  11. http://www.propublica.org/article/burris-1...lion-pal-090209 Nothing really hard hitting, but, considering how much I loathe this man, I wouldn't mind if the teeth of the story are found and it takes him down.
  12. It's going to take a lot of viagara to get through this mess.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) Agreed. 100% The rumor is that he hit her over the news that she gave him herpes. Still, you dump the girl & keep it moving. He's got too much riding on his career to do something stupid like this. I bet that's bulls***. Blame the f***ing victim bulls***. Throw this kid in jail and have him raped. How's aids sound?

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 08:16 AM) Is it not possible to be the best without being great? 'The Reader' should win best picture, but it's not great. Penn or Rourke will win best actor, but neither performance is great......hell, Ledger was better in his role than both. No no, I don't care about the opinion, I thought the reader was a complete f*** up on the screen. I'm saying you have this formula: I just saw/listened to x, and it's official, x is a dead/avg product. I don't necessarily disagree with you I was just musing. You complete me. I'm going to see let the right one in tonight. I believe this will be the first Swedish film I've ever seen, but I've heard wonderful things.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 05:10 PM) The worry I have with this kid is that he rakes in ST, rakes in April then canot adjust to what pitchers do to him to get him out and we have to send him down to get work and totally ruin his confidence. This. The only nice thing is that he'd have Alexei and Jose up here to help him out.
  16. anyone listen to Planet Money on NPR?

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 05:15 AM) Just got back from 'The Wrestler' and it's official, 2008 was a so-so year in film. Above average films and performances will win Oscars this year. you say this for everything.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 05:23 AM) What is really sad is there are a ton of young people watching the show tonight, wondering who the hell Robert Plant is, and why did he just win an award. why the hell did he win an award? Making a bunch of bland spoon full of sugar bulls*** grammy songs. Here's everything you need to know about the grammys - if steely dan made an album they'd sweep them.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 06:59 PM) I dont think the Killers will stick as the Saturday headliner for long. Chemical Brothers or somebody else is going to bump them out. I think so too, not because the killers put out an awful album, but they've had so much success with their electronic acts on big stages
  25. Jesus, the more I read of that, it looks like something Cubano would write. Get us more gems, please, ss2k5.
