QUOTE(farmteam @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 07:33 AM) VH1 is debuting their top 100 songs of the 90s this week (at least, I think it's new). Liz Phair was really annoying in her interview. It really seems like she's saying 'f-off' to the fans that made her career for a large part of a decade. The breeders song on there was cool, and the getto boys song. I love these countdowns.

Roberts admits steroid use
I'm just glad he admitted it after the huffing and puffing ESPN did over his entry being all hearsay and "ruining" his career.

Saban is such a douche. I honestly wonder how these coaches like him and petrino will honestly be able to pitch themselves to the best recruits in the country and convince them that they will be there for the next four years.

his flow has improved so much it's almost astounding. I think rap has met it's new star.

i dislike how all the players refused to talk to mitchell, then waited to whine to the media to dispute it.

Yeah, i personally think Jon was very underrated on this site. I've had no problems with his performance since the beginning of 2005.

originally I felt like kalapse in that this wouldn't really feed my wanting to know who had taken them. But in fact this was fascinating. David Segui seemed to be a huge supplier.

Kenny not worried about Danks & Floyd as #4 & 5
QUOTE(ptatc @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) Dropping down can also be a compensation for shoulder pain. When the humeral head rides up and compresses into the acromion the rotator cuff, bursa and labrum become pinched. If a pitcher starts to drop down there is usually an injury to one of these tissues. However since JC as always had this in his arsenal I wouldn't worry about it. Dropping down also decreases pitch velocity while increasing lateral movement on the pitch, this becomes the slider injury to the elbow. In retrospect I think this is what happened to Garcia. oh, yeah.

Kenny not worried about Danks & Floyd as #4 & 5
I really feel like, in the AL, if all our pitchers have an ERA below five, with 2 below 4, and a good bullpen this year, we wouldn't be in too bad of shape. I don't know about playoffs, but we would be talking mid to high 80's in wins, IMO.

Everything Falling into place to get...
As much as I'd like to b**** with everyone about getting A-row potentially - If we are going to be watching a losing team for the next several years, I'd at least like to watch losers that I like.

The 2007 Album Recommendation Thread
if that came across as abrasive I'm sorry rowand, I didn't mean it to. I've just been in so many discussions on that album when I frankly feel it just is beautiful, but in 20-30 second frames. I can handle repitition, i love minimal techno and post-rock, but they build up to something, and the lack of beat or drums in SotL I guess I can't identify with. I like eno ambient and i can handle drone music, but i need that beat or those drums. Sorry if it came across as like elitist as hell i just get frustrated with this album because i really don't know what to do with it.

The 2007 Album Recommendation Thread
because before it even came out everyone knew it was going to be the best ambient album of the decade, and then we heard it, and yeah, it was. But then we realized it was an ambient album, which is about as listenable as bird calls on cd. When do you actually turn it on and listen to it? I mean people had no idea what to rate it, because on one hand most knew it was a great accomplishment for it's field, but also that it is background music, and at it's best will never be anything defining, will not have that sentimental moment where you hear the song and it flashes you back. Rarely do I hear 10 minute drone and it takes me back to my college glory days. That's why you see it getting such high review marks, but it won't make many people's top albums of the year, unless they are wankers that laughed when they saw the song title dopamine clouds over craven cottage. And if they do rank it #1 I'm going to force them to sit down and listen to the whole album with nothing else going on and video tape them as they wait for some sort of high on that album where you can go, oh yeah. So McBride and Adam whatever...props to you. You made a great ambient album that I'll never listen to unless I'm making a soundtrack or falling asleep. Or a soundtrack TO falling asleep. so that's why I can't believe it, essentially.

Colleges + $$$
I'm just saying this isn't a life or death decision, and it's the reason why the choice between a school of 40,000 and one of 2,000 is still a huge choice in narrowing it down. The difference between the actual education these schools are offering is so trivial and hard to quantify. Obviously for specific schools in some colleges it is reason to go there, but for business you have the choice of really just finding the school that's a right fit. In reality the northern business school just got a new facility and has been climbing up the rankings, what marquette can give you is a more personal experience with professors. But to say that later in life because you went to x school it will give you a leg up just by name? No, it's all on what you did to get yourself there, and it's a lot easy to develop yourself at a school you feel right at. But every employer I've talked to in a social setting, they get about 600 applications a year, and just where you went to college is among the bottom of the criteria they are looking for. But if you use your UWisc. time to use everything the school has to offer to network and all those things, then that's where all that money pays off in spaids, because schools like that have so many tools for you.

Miguel Cabrera to the Tigers
QUOTE(Wanne @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 05:51 PM) Very true. Kenny's out there with the garage sale mentality...trying to save a dollar or so. Doesn't work when you're going after a Miggy. As for the farm system...I was thinking things really wouldn't be that bad if just a couple of guys panned out better...namely Anderson and friggin Sweeney. and valido.
