eh, sonic youth always had great one liners. I don't know, great lyric dudes mostly end up with minimal arrangements anyways to highlight the words. Musicianship is nice, but i'd take experimentation and originality over it. I don't want another band that sounds like U2.

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 01:42 AM) Pitchfork announced the other two bands to perform albums in their entirety with sonic youth during the pitchfork festival they are: Slint: Spirderland GZA: Liquid Swords holy f***. god dammit, i can't make friday.
  5. when i was in a mcdonalds in southern illinois this past friday in route to IU, i was watching fox news extensive coverage of this event. It was pretty pathetic.

    andrew bird tonite...yayy!
  7. hahahaha, yeah those cartoon commercials look like the stuff they show on the community college commercials for advertising. Elementary animation.
  8. that's exactly what i thought. "If this was dice-k it would be just confirm he was the greatest pitcher to ever play the game" every national show, never one mention on what a great performance it was, never one mention of how great an atmosphere it was, just "well the white sox are bad this means nothing " or "well buerhle sucks still" give me a break. Sports journalism sucks.
  9. if padilla hits aj, i'll just be glad AJ will get to first base for once.
  10. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 08:58 PM) Dont like those eagle man commercials those are stupid. wrong. Those will always havee a special place in my heart.
  11. not that this should matter to me, but i'm young and stupid, ATH all basically said the no hitter was no big deal. Maybe if you've stop becoming a baseball fan.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) To summarize: Cool i wish i was home...
  13. whats the weather report
  14. they sure do start to space out don't they!
  15. man...a no hitter. Crazy.
  16. wow, mlb.tv cut out on the last out for me, but wow what a game!!! MB!!!!
  17. the truth ad with the "whutdafxup" title (which is offensive enough) asking if there are any "light bullets". Alright, we get it, please die now, preferably from smoking cigarettes.
  18. haha, your sig .gif is an excellent example for this thread. I don't know, I'm at college and i continue to meet kids that amaze me in their intelligence and involvement. I think we just are so much more able to connect to so many more people now that we meet more and more dumb ones.
  19. Read in the times today that one of the professors who was killed was a holocaust survivor, and was barricading the door to let his students get out when the gunman killed him. Courageous, courageous man. RIP.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) Heres the thing. I had the swipe cards in my dorm as well. But all you need is someone to hold the door for you and thats it. Even in my condo there are people who will let anyone in who looks like they know where they are going. true, of course the one time i was locked out at 2 am there was no one there and i had to sleep on the steps. so the school said they didn't lock campus down because they thought the suspect fled. "better safe than sorry"
  21. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 09:12 PM) It would still be very, very difficult. It would be like trying to shut down a city of 30,000 people. I can't imagine how they'd even attempt to accomplish this here at U of I. telling people to stay away from an area with a crazy shooter shouldn't be that hard. i have to say, U of I's got a one up in the dorms, you guys have so many places you need to swipe your key card and isn't it 24/7? At missouri its only after 11 pm, and after the first door you are in.
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 09:06 PM) the total is up to 33. You know those "rape" kiosks where people can alert the authorities if there is something threatening as they walk home late at night. Why cant they install something like that across the campus and intercoms in the class rooms like a giant fire alarm. This is the best idea I've heard yet. The easiest thing to fix would be communication, to keep further students from entering the danger at the very least. Have a way to alert all RAs and security, and like you said with an intercom
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 09:08 PM) I would like to think that if I was in this situation, that I would have tried to attack the guy who was shooting. Most likely I would have tried to run and got shot though. i've been thinking the same thing. I'd just imagine instinct would take over, perhaps cover up someone more vulnerable or someone I cared about, or hell, I could just freeze up. I have no idea.
