  1. Wow, an injury that wasn't worst case scenario? Perhaps the vibes are shifting.
  2. I will admit that my working assumption was that this would end up a bo jackson type injury but it does seem likely that this was just an ouchie.
  3. Maybe but then things resumed as normal. I feel bad for Williams sisters who had their dad dragged into it with Smith invoking him as why he would have done that, and a moment that probably would have led to more people watching that film ...well, I guess there could be a Streisand-y type effect.
  4. I’d be interested to know how much of that room truly understood what happened considering how long it took to find out it was real only with help of Twitter.
  5. It feels like other orgs have been able to play players in different positions without them exploding. Maybe our instruction is also horrible. Examples: Semien, Narvaez improvements post-Sox. Other examples: everyone being shit defensively once joining Sox
  6. probably time to get rid of DRS but incredibly fun now that lead changes aren't only the result of pit / tire circumstances
  7. Don't worry I already started fighting with myself minutes later.
  8. The definition for playing RF continues to be re-written (by the white sox)
  9. No this goes against the MVP narrative.
  10. I've already turned against my opinions from 10 minutes ago, I'm now on the side that Burger could be a part time 2b and I buy it. In ten minutes I may come to the conclusion that given Harrison's career marks at 2b and Leury's weirdly bad 2b he may in fact be the best 2b on our team. He may be an MVP candidate in an hour.
  11. I do think Max Muncy has been surprisingly good when limited at 2b. So maybe Burger could do it. Burger is faster than Muncy and imo 6'2 230 is less weird than Muncy's 6'0 215. If he can make turns, then maybe. But he's interesting, and is very likely a better hitter than we expect.
  12. I think we should just prioritize making RF the worse defensive position in baseball instead of 2b AND RF.
  13. ACTUALLY I think our experiences with players like Daniel Palka make us rightfully weary of putting too much in an encouraging debut - especially when paired with players not very interesting to prospect writers. But there was some BA article referencing Burger and then I was just absolutely berating @Quin ruthlessly about how being a burger boy is better than an adolfo amigo and looked up the statcast numbers and this stuff is interesting 1. Burger hit the absolute crap out of the ball consistently in his (short) time up last year - His 60% hard hit rate (in this small sample) would be the best hard hit rate in baseball. Judge was at 57%. Hard hit rate is EVs over 95 mph and he did it in 14 of 23 batted balls. - His 115 mph max EV put him in the 90th percentile - Hitting the ball hard is good, imo 2. He's faster than I expected - His 65% percentile speed is better than I expected, as was his athleticism 3. He walked 10% of his ABs, and his prior history makes me believe his 33% k rate should come down with more reps (as would hard hit rate but ...) Basically I think it makes more sense to prioritize getting Burger at bats than Micker, and we should just bite the bullet on micker and hope he still ends up in Charlotte. Ratings Burger ? Adolfo ?
  14. I believe this is accurate, but maybe so long as you aren't signing the QO it is possible.
  15. I don't think that's that bizarre when paired with knowledge that they've just signed like 10 receivers, and he hasn't had great production. The value for that stuff isn't high. I would definitely trade a 6th for him as he's just 23 and is only making 1mil. Better than 10 for MVS, plus you shoul dbe able to recoup a late round pick like that easily.
  16. interesting idea (It's okay if you didn't immediately connect that name, I didn't either but he's referring to La'Viska Shenault Jr. My brain doesn't recognize first names of athletes unless it is Dikembe).
  17. Wild that we won’t be committing $30million to bad QBs
  18. Obviously the comedy of this post is the idea that the Sox had serious deliberations of adding impact talent lol
  19. I was steadfastly against it but now I regret no Castellanos. It’s a bit of a downer that even best case scenario of acquisitions is a mopey baby like Conforto or roidymcroiderson like Montas instead of a cool dude like Castellanos. I miss Billy Hamilton already
  20. Wolves are proud, regal animals. Stuffing them in a jersey and baseball glove is humiliating and disrespectful. To wolves.
