  1. In case it was unclear, this is def a S&T
  2. Theis was awesome, sad to see him go:
  3. So 30 minutes until the end of Christian Felicio, which I said was a great deal, because look at what these other trash bigs were getting.
  4. they weren't bringing Lauri back with Vucevic so it's all golden there. If the bulls rebuild, it's going to be if this year is a disaster and getting 2022 1st rounders is nice. They are pot-committed now.
  5. DeRozan would need to play wing while Patrick Williams hopefully develops some aggression. I don't think it's an amazing fit, but because Zach has range, and because Vucevic has range, and maybe Ball's streaky 3pg is real, that should give DeRozan room to work. I think he was attractive in how he played in SA more than Toronto. But yeah...can 4 top 26-35 players win an nba championship? lol.
  6. Yeah I think because of Zach Lavine's desire for a deal, the thought is they would basically ship off things that have salary and use remaining budget for zach and then rely on exemption + min deals.
  7. Man, maybe I like offseason stuff more than real season stuff do I just like accounting?
  8. holy crap, putting him at wing would be amazing.
  9. That's good, i'm pro this. Hope it pans out.
  10. I think there is another angle. At this point Rick Hahn may know that for the way JR caps his spend the only elite players they can add that are not smoothing out arb years are DHs and Relievers, both which max out around 12-16million. So maybe for 29 other teams, spending $30 million on two relievers is idiocy. But for the sox, they are getting 2 relievers they think hit that consistent elite threshold to help the team rather than being forced to swim in the waters of getting a $10-12 million outfielder whose likely 1 win better than brian goodwin. I'm only partly tongue and cheek.
  11. Annoying how Miami if they wanted Ball would just have Ball say "I'ms igning with Miami" and NO would just be like "okay sign and trade", because the bulls are so much better off if they absorb the salary through trade. They could then re-sign Theis with bird rights and have a MLE.
  12. It makes sense if with the extra september rosters we get Sheets to be the LH hitter.
  13. Yeah I sort of agree. This year he can't be cut, and the biggest thing to swallow his neding to have 3 QBs on a 53 man, really sucks. But next year, he would just be a #2 with Dalton gone, and we'd go to having a very cheap QB portion of roster for once. But trading him would be ideal, and maybe just maybe we could use that extra space for a Russell Okung.
  14. So I think I'm okay to whittle down paying attention to DSL to just Randel Mondesi and Carlos Hinestroza since apparently norge vera isn't pitching. I would like to know if tha'ts injury related because choosing not to pitch a player for 2 years seems questionable. Carlos Hinestroza is a RP there now but pitches like every day. He's 18 and was mentioned by badler. But 12.1 IP, 9 ks, 2 walks, 7 hits...good whip. Hopefully he moves stateside.
  15. I'm sure the rays had figured Glasnow was incompatible to pay in arb vs. his injury risk and became another Snell situation. Remember the old rays thing was keeping pitchers down in AAA impossibly long so that they were paying pre-arb prices for their prime years.
  16. See I this is what makes it interesting. This isn't them acting like a normal team. They traded their closer last week to the Mariners! To me this underscores that you can't qualify Kimbrel under "closer" category. The Rays know that relievers are fickle and worth trading when they get hot ...but were hot after Craig Kimbrel. He is a huge weapon this year. What he is next year...there is a lot of flexibility.
  17. Teams wanting a player isn’t that much of a thing worth mentioning. I made a post however since that team was the Rays, Uber progressive rays, a team I admire and many others do. And this documents how they really went hard after Kimbrel, and they largely could not because of money reasons (could not shed equal value to Cubs). https://theathletic.com/2746929/2021/08/02/rosenthal-rays-discussed-creative-possibilities-in-talks-with-cubs-for-kris-bryant-and-craig-kimbrel/?source=user_shared_article And it includes the kicker, that Rays would probably just have traded Kimbrel in offseason. Thats something I’ve failed to mostly communicate. To me I think we undervalue Kimbrels impossibly high value this year, and see next year as largely an inconvenient cost. Sox really should explore that same path, and it will be easy to explore.
  18. Foles talkinga bout trade is making me too optimistic that he could actually be traded and I don't want to get my hopes up.
  19. I do want to broaden my pessimism from hating on just the bulls to broader NBA. I obviously think Paxson and forman were shit, and ran the bulls as if they were a lemonade stand and did nothing to take advantage of the things Jordan gave that franchise globally. And you can point to obvious examples of pieces they could have drafted to still make it all work. But what sucks to me so much is that we basically became the Orlando Magic, and it sucks that the Orlando Magic were forced to have a decade as the Orlando magic. What does that mean? Well, the bulls were friggen awful from 17-20. Especially the 17-19 bulls were just in no way awful, but so were many awful teams, and bulls happen to play in the awful central-east division. Meanwhile the equally awful suns and grizz played in the West getting destroyed and ended up with the worst records. So now despite inconsistent drafting for years, they had runs of (since 2013) 5 (Alex Len), 14, 13, 4, 4, 1, 6. And that 1-1 pick they get ayton and really did a great trade on getting bridges. They signed some guys, and succeed, and get chris paul. The Memphis Grizzlies after a great run fall apart, and they get rewarded with years of 4th overall and 2nd overall and get JJJ and Ja and they are a smart org who knows how to win. So yeah the bulls should have drafted Mitchell or Bam, in 2018 they should have drafted Sexton or SGA, in 2019 they should have drafted eerh...I think still Herro or Huichimara, and then in 2020 they should have drafted Halliburton. But it's kinda asking to pull an inside straight. Granted the Nuggets pulled off those inside straights. But anyway bulls got unlucky, and also made horrible decisions. And it sucks that in other sports when you have a FO that makes horrible decisions you have the draft to try to correct it but in the NBA you may have only once a decade where the draft really works in your favor. As a fan this sucks, I don't work for the bulls. Nothing I can do.
  20. FA starts today, the draft happened. I will try not be a downer, but my NBA fandom took a ginormous hit and I'm trying to recover because sports should be fun.
  21. Sounds like Field is having a Wow practice for first time in camp.
  22. dang it. I love what he's provided but Sheets is not really a RFer. He will have to go down until we get additional roster spots.
