  1. yeah...I guess the problem right now is there are a lot of relievers available, the angels are naive, and his price might not be up enough for them to do it.
  2. I honestly don't think Hendriks would care since he is already paid like a closer.
  3. If that gets it done that would be great. Would even still be rooting for burger, and I want him to have a starting job somewhere.
  4. JR approves on contingent that he drives a lockout and cancels 2022 salaries.
  5. Hmm not even trying to be negative but sox don't seem to like being buyers in competitive negotiations. Would put kimbrel super dupes low.
  6. ugh now sandoval is going to hit like 4 home runs this weekend.
  7. Interesting thread from JJ Cooper, I admit, I am completely flummoxed by prospects this year, including our own. I guess it didn't thread.
  8. they also say it like it is the only example of a baseball team in the history of the world.
  9. Braves modeling must be real bad for them to look at the nl east flailing and still be like "we are too injured to do this"
  10. notice how some of these teams are trying to upgrade places they were even adequate in. Can't stand when teams "improve" by going from below average to average production.
  11. Mark Shapiro can do this trade because he knows he can continue to bring talent in through draft and international. Common thread I see, personally.
  12. Glad the white sox are still working.
  13. "Oh is DSL not playing today? Oh no just getting no-hit"
  14. Every team in the league had to deal with it but for where they were in the process the sox losing 55 draft picks from what they may have been expecting in 2019 seems to really taken a toll on their low level pitching especially.
  15. They should, yes, but the angels.
  16. I feel like the angels aren't going to sell and are really going to do the "well when we get trout back!"
  17. I enjoy when people take arguments made across a number of different people, or perhaps the same argument made over and over by the same person, create a single person named "the board" which they can own over and over. The board always has a dumb argument you can point to if you need. We are all so much smarter than the board.
  18. tray post in 20 minutes: "The yankees pocket was picked by the cubs, all for the worthless rizzo. Jokes on the yankees, the cubs already expected to pay rizzos salary, and get two prospects instead? Yes Please!"
  19. What sign have we seen that the white sox are willing to take on salary to lighten the load?
  20. I wonder if Texas settles on Gibson now that gallo is officially gone. Less pretense for immediate competition.
  21. I was talking about Andrew McCutcheon obviously
  22. considering Story's season to date, I think it's unlikely they were offered much and yeah, the pick is probably better. (but what if story takes the QO)
  23. There's going to be plenty of playing time for Engel. But getting a guy with positional versatility would be nice. Maybe someone who was a former MVP.
  24. re: Cespedes It's hard to keep in mind how long a layoff this guy had. He is showing more of the power than he ever did in Cuba, so that's good scouting. But for me to really care, eventually he'll need to really tear shit up. He's doing fine in W-S. Maybe considering the layoff, he's great. But considering the scouting reports are much more meh from James Fox and Fangraphs than what we may have expected when he first signed, and the fact that he's 23 in A+, I just want to see him really dominate one of his levels before I think "he's a piece that could be a future RFer". But in his last year in Cuba he had a 70 ISO. So far, he has a 189 ISO in WS. So the power gains seem real. But he is striking out 30% of the time and has a 45 to 4 walk to K ratio. His OBP looks better because he's been hit 8 times!
