  2. I concur with author on Andrew Perez. He was on a super low level though so who knows.
  3. Pretty sure he was being tongue in cheek
  4. bluhhh I can't wait for these dudes we've been talking about for 2 years to get on the field
  5. I mean sure I hope she has a great career but if she makes it a trend for all agents to make these state farm commercials with their clients I will never forgive her.
  6. I'm going to guess it's the team that didn't ask the free agent to bend over backwards to fit their plans and instead is the teams that respected the players value.
  7. I'll always fall in love with dudes like these ever since our breaking bad boy loaiza. Rodon was basically the stake in the heart of my offseason, these are all the margin stuff. Still fun.
  8. My money is on Rays.
  9. Interesting guy who has good basketball feel but also does not at the same time. Maybe he sees the court so advanced nobody else is with him.
  10. He was actually really good before that ha
  11. Yeah I would say even trading May for Colome will be a net-loss. I don't feel like qualifying every comment on Colome, he was great, replicating what he did in terms of overall success will be hard, but it would have been harder for Colome than it would have for Hendriks.

It was super frustrating, but it's a confounding draft class to me. I think I agree that it's likely sox had planned on some additional cubans to make the jump, but it was reversed by Trump admin. Sox may have had a bunch of extra budget at that point, the rest of players under previous agreements, so they just made sure they got Sanchez away from some teams in the previous year who still had money (orioles, etc). And the other part of it is that class has some really interesting pieces, moreso than many previous years. Bailey is the obvious, but it plucked a very interesting year as a 16 year old with really great K rates. Veloz was 18, but has chance to fill out and dominated the DSL that year. Christian Vera we'll see this year, along with Wilfred Veras. And then Tatis showed little, but keeps getting mentioned by sox. So maybe we'll find out this year that despite missing a real top 30 talent when we expected one, that it was a good class. I mean 2018 we had no idea would produce what it did, with Ramos and others.

So just back to Kade McClure here. The write-up re-summarized what they had written previously, that he's now a mid-90s pitcher, but his secondaries aren't amazing but just average. That said, their previous report said he was just super effective at getting outs. This is where I'm hoping that despite stuff maybe not looking amazing, his 6'7 frame ends up creating more deception and ability to get outs than appears in a scouting report. I'm just hoping for a really big surprise somewhere in system because damn does it need one.
  14. He did, but came back to pitch in the bullpen with Brewers. Dodgers signed him last year based on that stint and were going to put him in rotation, but he hurt his back. Certainly health concern with him, but we have seen his stuff work in a different way post shoulder.
  15. really good vaccines
  16. I'm going to bet that crochet starts our DHs this year.
  17. As someone who was very critical of our PD, and still think it moved too slow, I think Getz has done a really great job and deserves praise
  18. caught my eye too.
  19. new high of 68k yesterday but we needed it because the snow made sunday a bust and monday's report was poor too. Wed-Sun are still the good reports.

Wow, interesting Sheets write-up SCOUTING REPORT: Sheets used the coronavirus shutdown to get in better shape, and the White Sox saw enough athleticism to try him in left field at instructional league. Outside scouts who saw him at the position believe it is a legitimate option. In the box, Sheets continued working to utilize his lower half more in his swing, and the results are some of the best exit velocities in the organization and a newfound ability to pull offspeed pitches with authority. He does better on pitches in the upper half of the zone, and working to do damage on pitches in all parts of the zone will be his next step.

So we knew the top 10, 11-30 came out. https://www.baseballamerica.com/teams/1026/chicago-white-sox/organizational/?year=2021&type=P#9766 Interesting names: Bailey horn at 24, Zack Collins at 27 And my favorite is just this scouting report dunking on Yolbert Sanchez, then realizing he's ranked higher than Collins lol: SCOUTING REPORT: Sanchez reported to instructional league in Arizona and looked particularly rusty. Internal and external evaluators saw a player who'd gotten thicker during the shutdown, lacked an approach at the plate and showed a willingness to chase. Scouts also saw a player who will not be able to stick at shortstop because of below-average speed and fringy arm strength. The White Sox are optimistic he'll be able to regain some of what they saw when they signed him once he gets more consistent reps.
  22. Not sad on this one except he goes back to twins. Many other guys for less money make me more sad. But sign a folty, extend Giolito, and surprise me with a Jake McGee for a super pen and let’s just get on with it.
  23. I don’t think they’ll be definitive while school is still being worked out, and to be honest.
