  1. Had he been garbage in those minor league starts he'd have stayed in minors though. He was striking out hitters at will but had control issues. Who better to work with him than cooper? I'll be open to idea that they are responding to same pressures - I did say it was like watching them fail the marshmallow test. But he is much more of an unknown than sale/rodon were. I'm just open to idea that they may think going into season with a plan for him that has consistency will be better than sending him to an uncertain year in AAA only to switch back up to bullpen after he's pitched probably more than he did last year. But it would help if someone would get some more on the record thoughts from the m which I'm sure will come in spring training.
  2. So he did get minors time is what i'm getting out of this post.
  3. I do think this is a little different. Rodon did get minors time. And I am at least open to idea that the uncertainty around the minors is making them plan differently, like this guy may be too valuable os they are choosing a path they have more control over.
  4. I feel like this is watching the sox fail the marshmallow test.
  5. Thank God this wasn't while he was eating at a restaurant or Trump supporters would have to get a civility lesson.
  6. They absolutely believe they are competing
  7. I have to say though it was this kinda thought that led to Rodgers falling (tedford) https://bleacherreport.com/articles/37795-aaron-rodgers-will-flop-just-like-every-other-tedford-product
  8. I hope that guy wins the lawsuit.
  9. I guess it's just that I don't really like Gray and you can't shoot those bullets twice. He's an improvement but not like, the kind of improvement I've wanted.
  10. NY raiding the vets off a down year like paxton, kluber, etc. seems feasible. They'll have the luxury tax hanging over their heads next year though and I'd bet they are eyeing one of the top SS. Such a weird year.
  11. I guess I think so just based off of the reaction after his game vs. clemson. I don't really follow nfl draft stuff that closely though right now. I know wilson began being thought of as #2 for a bit, but Fields game was pretty incredible and that might hold some sway.
  12. I think I get it. It's not about corruption or the swamp. It's about an increasingly unrelatable group of people in power at every level of culture and politics that they felt was condescending and bad. And could easily be convinced that that group was capable of anything evil they said just because they hate them so much. Republicans for gave them a bit of that while also thinking they liked republicans for the policies. Trump gave them all of the hate and realized they didn't care about the policy. It's an all ice cream diet. And that trump was so despited by all of that group just re-enforced that he was one of them even with everything else. And he never stopped fighting the culture wars. And he was never not hated. A lot of other people like Hawley are useful only as far as they supported trump, but they'll be discarded and someone else will be found that scratches that need of just being loathsome toward their number one target: owning libz. Probably don jr.
  13. Yeah not sure. If you are Houston and get the best deal for Miami you'd be getting back your (own) #3 overall pick. That is probably Zach Wilson. Because they are getting Watson, Houston could likely get Tua, and thats the equivelant of 2 first round picks, plus more. It depends on whether Houston would rather Tua or Wilson (or whomever they view as #3). If houston doesn't like Tua, it's possible bears could get him. Risky as hell though after what he showed but I do think he's better than this year.
  14. They may not stand pat but they are way more aware of the lux tax than I expected. They'll sign lemahieu then who knows what.
  15. Easily, though tampa is always capable of their voodoo magic.
  16. I'm more immediately interested in public positions.
  17. Reminds me of when I was a teen poster here and intended to start a topic on John Hughes movies but accidentally wrote John Holmes movies and people were like ?
  18. While they have been rumored in more big splashes than they executed, they made some really great low-key updates to their infield. They don't have a replacement for Bundy, and it's not like we have that Dunning like piece for them to rely on this year.
  19. There really does need to be a sweep to see any people in public positions and swift removal, especially law enforcement/elected officials/military.
  20. Even if this blows up, I don't see it being that consequential. It really wouldn't be that hard to move if you just wanted the salary off.
  21. SO why would the Angels trade Bundy?
  22. I’ll have to check in with my sources there. They also indicated that people would be surprised or pleased and it would be sooner than later.
  23. White Sox are interested in players.
  24. i take it back. Wow. Amazing. Why aren’t all agents making parody State Farm commercials
