  1. I mean he looked like an ace and then we found out a bit why.
  2. And the fact that he knows baseball helps. He was pretty anti Baines so that may be interesting
  3. According to Jon greenberg at the athletic. He used to run firejoemorgan, has a podcast with Posnanski, and is a show runner for the office and the good place. hes hilarious.
  4. The question is whether you value 2020 more and want him to struggle now with an offseason to adjust or if you want him to struggle next year while we are ostensibly competing.
  5. Gonna be hard for yolbert to beat out Wilber at this point.
  6. I hope they just show that 2003 u of I /arizona game and force him to watch it the whole time.
  7. Wilber Sanchez >> Yolbert Sanchez Hilarious how often there are high scoring DSL games that don't ahve any standout performances. But Bailey was 1-5 with a 2b.
  8. I would say one thing people should keep in mind is that soxtalk has often declared a contract "untradeable" including Verlander, Greinke, etc. And not only were they tradeable, they got back decent value pieces. The untradeable contracts are the Pujols/Cabrera's etc. But strangely the sox seem most amenable to spending big on one dimensional veteran sluggers.
  9. Feels like raffle is probably best way to do it.
  10. Yeah, I can't follow the meta discussion around who is allowed to complain here, but it is incredibly tone deaf to me that the only time sox execs appear to open up and answer honestly is when they are asked questions where they can b**** about the fans. The sox have either been poor at executing or outright misrepresenting their intentions on many steps along the rebuild. Then its "jeeze we said it was a rebuild, you just need to trust us!" I used to listen to every hahn interview, there's no point now even beyond the ongoing joke about his lawyer speak. Hahns' favorite line about the check box is the perfect example of what's wrong with their mindset. They think if they do something once they are finished. When they signed robert it meant they were done with needing to focus on lat am. The critique is that they don't explore every avenue to get better, not any individual tactic along the way. He has a very good job, I don't cry tears that he is upset. I obviously very much want this rebuild to succeed, but I don't think their process has particularly earned that, and I will continue to think they are not particularly good at their job even if we do get to the playoffs unless I start to see changes in how they operate.
  11. You guys focus too much on our good prospects and too little time on the ones that will likely fizzle out in A ball
  12. Amazing how Ron is so successful at what he does
  13. All other sports: let’s take this on the road and play in huge international stadiums to increase exposure to the game! Manfred: what if we played in the middle of a cornfield where no one can watch, would that speed up the game?
  14. wow that's a big bump for stiever. I think my top 30 would probably remove all the relievers.
  15. A poster bumped an old thread when we were more optimistic about these relievers that a full year later looks funny.
  16. This post was from 2018
  17. Pretty sure I will find this list infinitely more watchable than much of the 15-30, especially the relievers. Gladney, J Rodriguez, Beard made top 30 which is nice.
  18. Banuelos shelled in rehab appearance in AZL
  19. Cam Simmons from UVA just hit a homer. He’s now at .292 / .804 ops in Kanny. Feels like he’s played a lot less in Kanny but he’s had the kinda start you’d hope to see from an older prospect.
