He may have just gotten better since he is striking out more guys. But the Kanny defense was pretty bad, though that wouldn’t account for so many more hits now. His peripherals were good in Kanny just saw worse results, but maybe he found something his last few starts before promotion that propelled him in A+

When you even do the exercise on where we believe the Sox feel they rank among each other, it would be reasonable to assume it is: Beard Gladney Ramos Rodriguez Beard was a 4th rounder, Gladney was over slot, Ramos was a 300k day 1 signing on J2, and Rodriguez was a mid year J2 signing originally in DSL a full year. So to what extent does this years production change that order? I don’t even know that it would! Except maybe as a whole we have more shots at a player that makes the big leagues.

Little sad to not see any of the upstart AZL guys there.

I don’t know to what amount it’s a fools errand to analyze DSL progress, but for a while he was getting lit up in his last inning. He’s been going 5 consistently now without a big blow up. So excited to have him stateside next year to get more of a read on him.

So I mentioned this earlier, but Robert may not be as disgruntled due to the Sox holding him in DSL for a year to increase his total take home pay.

Yes and we see players like mike trout not wanting to deal with that process despite being incredibly close to cashing in. Also I think Robert will be amicable seeing as how the Sox let him play in DSL year 1 to maximize his earnings. I know that may have been an incentive to sign, but still was something Sox did.

Unfortunately I don’t think Wacha is much of an upside play anymore. This upcoming FA class is so terrible. You are right they need to go after The top guys and it hurts there to date aren’t even many Corbin like upstarts.

This absolutely sucks now but this team has unbelievably avoided a streak like this all year despite an incredibly weak pitching staff. I think the path to contention is a lot clearer now than March 1, but will need execution in the offseason. I do wonder if you scratch off a guy like wheeler and go for lower upside but more stability for next year while our arms hopefully develop
