  1. Pavin smith isn't even very good.

this Benyamin Bailey guy is raking. 3b today. Damn he's 6'4 215 lbs at 17 years old!
  3. I agree, I really don't see Colome as netting a substantially better return than Soria (it will be better but not tiers better). I was kinda intrigued by the idea of Joe Palumbo from texas as a return, but looking at his pitch data from his start, uhhh, he's got a nice rising fastball but his secondary stuff sucks. I don't really know the minimum return I could put together for Colome, but I don't think it will be there regardless. Like just don't let the brewers give us their trash again.
  4. I did not expect this turn of events:
  5. I want the sox to win this game tonight so much. This is a rise to the occasion game for Gio, going to be a fun one.
  6. I can't think of a draft I would less trade up for than this one. If we were to get in a position for Barrett, maybe, but I just don't really see much benefit here. It would put them in a position to get Brogdon, could pair him with Garland at #4. But if bulls are in a position to need to shed salary then porter is always available to dump pretty easily.
  7. smalls got the magic touch.

    nobody mentioned Sosa's great day!

Mize made 1-1 money already, so I don't think he would be against it still.
  10. NBA landscape going to be very different next year. I would imagine, or I would hope, one of Denver or Utah or Portland just do an "eff it' and go for AD and just ask him for one year and then they'll trade him to where he wants. Go for it.
  11. Nobody seems to complain about the 2015 warriors winning against a heavily injured team. Toronto was the best team in the playoffs.
  12. I think part of it was Sox fans were just ready to start paying attention again. For me that hit hard, I just wanted baseball so much more again. 2017 was surprisingly fun for me, but 2015 and 16 were brutal. I want a fun team and Anderson/Giolito/Moncada almost by themselves are delivering. Baseball is so awesome when it’s good.
  13. I mean this guy was a 100k signing. It’s amazing if he plays a game in the majors.
  14. He was great in DSL though
  15. that would put him 4th on sox in OPS, 3rd in wRC+, 4th in WAR.

Luis Rodriguez (19 y.o) having a strong start in DSL. 16ks in 13 IP, 3 BBs. Last year he did have nearly a 9 k/ip rate but also was like 4.5 BB/IP. 23% walk rate isn't amazing but interesting nonetheless.
  17. Likely means there is an injury which sucks for all involved.
  18. Gonna be a 4.5 hour game, fun for the fans into that sorta thing. Now that I said this, it's going to be a 1-0 game over in 2 hours.
  19. Continue freak out.
  20. you beat me to punch ?
  21. http://www.milb.com/documents/9/7/0/308065970/2019_Voyagers_Official_Roster.pdf My takeaways: - Some jumps I didn't expect. Kleydar Sanchez barely played in AZL last year and did not hit, but he's up there. Sam Abbot was moved up. - There is a lot of fun in the position players: Last years HS crop Delgado, Maldonado and Weaver are moving up a level (Weaver performed best). Quintero, Mieses and Comas from '17 and '16 classes performed decent last year and should be fun to watch. Cam Simmons is someone I think will be a lot of fun in short season ball. I'm a little surprised Osik isn't on Great Falls - This pitching staff is full of seniors and 5th year seniors. It may be pretty good statistically. Ramon Pineda and Brayan Herrerra from 2016 intl class movin on up. Herrera does not K a lot, but he's got good control. He's 21 though so his stuff may be not good. Pineda is Michael's brother and was pretty terrible last year.
  22. https://www.milb.com/great-falls/news/white-sox-release-voyagers-opening-day-roster/c-308065266?tcid=tw_article_308065266 So a lot of these we already knew. But I think these are new: - Cam Simmons (UVA) is on here, so signed - Joshua Rivera (chipola jc) - Solesky (tulane) - Kaleb Roper (tulane) - Connor Reich (Texas State) Jason Morgan is on there...is he a UDFA?
  23. All managers should be placeholder managers.
  24. nope, cease at 51 is the last sox guy.
  25. I think this is college pitching rearing its head again as they are typically more advanced, in addition to fangraphs offseason shift in downgrading pitching in general. I think we will see a decent amount of action from the 10-30 players but they need to prove it.
