  1. I doubt it was any team that high. Someone probably just guaranteed him a floor. If a top ten team asks for a private workout he’s taking it, but no need to go through combine if a team saw what it needed.
  2. Mendick On pace for a 20/20 season
  3. Hmm, that doesn't match up with old Mikey asking around the league if Gar and Pax are good and being told they are stupendous.
  4. Was. One of the things about copy/pasting the career numbers into your expectations for a player in their age 34 year after a steep second half decline is a) those players get injured and b) they tend to start declining.
  5. The defense would be so hilarious. I have a hard time believing kemba would take a 20 mill deal to the bulls, because Charlotte should absolutely be able to pull him for more money at that point.
  6. This was when I thought they'd be getting Brantley and I questioned whether that was a wise use of resources - pre Jon Jay/Yonder lol
  7. I don't think so. Process is important. And also he's one of the longer tenured GMs at this point, had he come on in 2017 I don't think there is as much discussion.
  8. Right, that's my point. We shouldn't take the sox having a large presence and media rumors of being big on Abrams as being a tell on having him higher than Witt/Rutschmann in the same way we take it that they are higher on Abrams or Vaughn. It's a dog bites man thing. Vaughn was expected to be above Abrams for sox because of how college heavy they've been. But Witt has also been a consensus top player for a while, and we don't specifically know that being on Abrams means sox have him above Witt in the same way we can now assume they have him ranked higher than Vaughn.
  9. He'll get TJ. So will everyone else.
  10. Seth Johnson is probably a huge pipe dream as that seems like the prototypical comp round pick but man I would loooove it.
  11. pretty sure if Madrigal had a 60 raw power grade on him you would not be as nervous. Much more likely a 6'1 180 string bean likely to get up to 195 taps into power through physical growth than the 5'8 165 lb guy. But hey, Urias is suddenly a 25 hr guy in AAA in PCL. The juiced ball thing is kinda real.
  12. Dayton Moore put together a team that made World Series twice yet if KW was fired and Moore hired the next day I would not be jumping for joy. Given the position, division, length of tenure, obvious deficiencies in player development, scouting and strategy, making playoffs twice in a decade is not enough for me to say Hahn is a success.
  13. One thing I'm sure of, no way they can sneak Priester to 45. He's too obviously open to signing and talented for teams to not just draft him and dare him to go juco/college. And I'm sure dude looks at carter stewart and would take the money.
  14. We don't hear of sox in on Rutschmann though either. I think it's just a matter of witt being so likely to KC. If Sox are convinced of Rutschman/Witt as 1-2, their big decision would be Abrams/Vaughn. But if Rutschman is I don't believe for a second sox pass despite being all over Abrams.
  15. Another Braves Fan 2:02 In reference to the NL teams that already have top tier first basemen, if Vaughn falls to them, why not take him anyway? A bat of that caliber would surely be a very valuable trade chip, even if those NL teams won't use Vaughn themselves. Kiley McDaniel 2:04 Have you seen the FA market for 1B? What if he ends up being CJ Cron instead of Pete Alonso or Goldschmidt? You took a guy with a small margin for error that you can't use and everyone knows you have to trade him. I'd still take him, but that's the argument on the other side. +++ oh hey
  16. Beautiful write-ups, can't believe they still have stott top ten though.
  17. Lol, sox being open to abrams is such a welcome development and everyone is just going to shit on themselves for why it's bad. If witt is there, sox take him. FG had sox going Singer last year. Bukauskus year before. I love their style, but if you changed your priors because of that kiley comment you're a fool.
  18. Jrue Holiday >>> 7th pick. I've stopped caring about cap space considering nobody will want to sign with this coach/org. Jrue's decline the next 3 years will be nothing. Holiday/Lavine/Porter/Markannen/WCJ is good.
  19. Naw Jrue would be peeerfect for bulls, and I don't think Pels are into trading jrue anymore. It's going to be for conley if anyone.
  20. Being scared of an 80 runner with 60 raw power because we don't know that our org is competent enough to provide the tweaks to tap into it...sucks so much.
  21. Cashner averages 5.1 innings per start. He has 144 innings to go before 187. That means he would need to pitch in 35 games this year to hit that, which is impossible. Even when he was good he never hit 187 ip in a season.
  22. I would not give up forbes. We are doing them a favor. I think sox would take on salary for a single year, they just need to keep him under 187 IP. I would give them like the remaining 2018 intl money + taylor varnell.
  23. He's not good but he's not embarrassing and you would be unlikely to need to give up anything of significance.
