  1. Out of curiosity would people be more or less upset if Jose just straight up tried to steal home
  2. There's probably so many people there he lost it in the crowd.
  3. That's a weird game day. What does "deflected by nicky delmonico" mean
  4. On a day like today, not much, on 25k or more, you get to watch more of the game because you aren't stuck in concessions and bathroom lines. I do like the view depending on the angle too.
  5. I would guess they will have him in AZ (i don't know if june was when he's first assigned or if he's in extended now and he'll be ready to go) first and then go to W-S
  6. Mendick always seems to have these points where it seems like he's starting to fall off, he'll be hitting like .220, then he goes off like this (3-4 for a homer) and will go on a stretch to bring him up to like .265, then fall off again, then tear. But Dang he's gonna hit like 20 HRs down there.
  7. I hope Sosa can find his footing again. Brutal stretch.
  8. I agree (since I would not do the deal), but Stroman at the deadline will likely be attractive to more team than the white sox, so we don't get to create his market. I don't think bundling together some crap prospects will do it despite his injury history. If he had .5 years remaining it might, though this assumes he keeps pitching well. That said, I would not be opposed to getting an upgraded pitcher with 1.5 years control, and offering an extension that bought out their final year and provided 2-3 years additional control. As OP said, the FA markets are going to be garbage. So either we are going to be spending $140 millions for a pop up guy like patrick corbin each year or we try to split the cost in prospects and money for a guy before he hits the market.
  9. I do not know that I have seen a number put on it.
  10. It's a little early to worry about Bush's value in the majors. If his bat is his carrying quality I'd rather they find a defensive spot for him to work on that looks attainable. As long as they didn't stick him at 1b like they did to yurchak right away, which let us know the dream was dead.
  11. It seems to track the Sonny Gray deal. I did not say I would do this trade, I would be more open to Sanchez. But I do think people need to stop being skiddish on adding things with less than 6 years control.
  12. As a big Madrigal fan, I feel the need to drum this beat over and over but the Madrigal of today will not be that exciting to me. You have to believe in this kids makeup and contact skills to translate into something greater. That doesn't mean 20 home run power, but it does mean getting the most out of that contact. I keep bringing him up, but look at how willians astudillo translated incredible contact into increasing power. Hopefully it doesn't take him to age 27, but he has a lot more skills than la tortuga.
  13. Doesn't seem that different than sonny gray's deal to me.
  14. He's still getting there. Big thing was that his entire career was not going to be what the first two months of april is. He'll need to tap into more power, but he's walking a bit more. I'm not sure he'll tap into the full power until a few years in as he better at identifying what he can drive. But I will still bank on that when we've heard reports on players with uber baseball IQ like this they tend to do and find what it takes to evolve to the most effective versions of themselves.
  15. Man I don't know. Bare minimum I'd say Adolfo, Dunning, Bush could get it close.
