  1. So excited to see what the redskins/raiders gonna do
  2. If they called him up now I wouldn't say "oh, no, don't do that" though.
  3. I don't particularly care about player control concerns with him, however, with the ball being the same in AAA I'm fine with him getting a few more starts to work primarily on his offspeed/breaking stuff. When the ball was different, I think working with the mlb ball would be a better case for calling him up. AAA is such an offensive league now I think it's kinda good practice for him too.
  4. Maxes at 4 mill, and honestly I question that report because that had him theoretically being able to make like 13 million and I only saw it from one reporter.
  5. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates Only a few games but probably our best pitching slate possible. https://www.milb.com/scores/whitesox/2019-04-25
  6. Just want to bring up that Gio is getting paid less than ervin santana.
  7. https://www.theringer.com/2019/4/25/18515037/los-angeles-clippers-kevin-durant-kawhi-leonard-doc-rivers In the world where the bulls actually held their FO accountable, I would be throwing gobs of money at the clippers front office to come here. I thought they wasted last draft in not trading into the top ten, but they've built the perfect level-up team. Loads of assets, loads of cap space, located in Los Angeles. And man, Doc Rivers went from a guy that seemed like a old school washed up coach to this. What a freakin year for him.
  8. I expect this to be the smallest draft thread in history.
  9. Covey's two seamer is undoubtedly better at this point than any nova pitch.
  10. I'm starting to waver on this a bit. Nova may just be unusable in the AL (as seen by the worst hitting team shelling him). 1st time through the order 2.79 ERA .731 OPS against 2nd time through the order 9.00 ERA .900 OPS against 3rd time through the order 14.29 ERA 1.180 OPS against I mean ... comical.
  11. Yeah that was quite a line. Wasn't he a closer in college?

    Moncada

It's 100 total at bats but still only 28 as a rhb. That said most of the lineup is trash so it's probably fine.
  13. Madrigal with two walks
  14. Very unlikely. I do wonder if it would be a bad idea to do something like this for a pitcher who may still suck. Because it's like "see! You experimented and it failed, never do it again!"
  15. Are you asking why shouldn't the white sox exacerbate their weaknesses or why shouldn't the white sox use an opener?
  16. But the sox showing they can limit weaknesses would be a welcome improvement over exacerbating them.
  17. Yes, the reality is all of his numbers were bad, this is just mitigating disaster as much as possible.
  18. Nova has been bad. He is not great against any type of player except maybe Charlie Tilson and Adam Engel. But he is truly horrendous against left handed hitters, and he gets much worse as he faces batters each time through the order. What if we threw out Banuelos or Jace to start the first inning, have Nova come in after that and try to get him to only face the top 1/3 of the order twice? And maybe this could influence less LH hitters int he lineup (has that happened when other teams know they are just seeing the pitcher for an inning?). Anyway Banuelos is probably better anyway.
  19. I really hoped he could just get it down to 28% this year, to be sub 25% at this point is so fantastic.
  20. Signed by Brewers for 2 mill. We have Ivan nova, so we didn't have room.
  21. I mean it's certainly $200 million+ but he would not bank $350 million as an age 29 free agent in today's market.
  22. I don't understand the "we should spend money on players unlikely to be good because nothing matters". I mean, in the lowest stakes possible, they should be practicing on acquisitions to see if the things they are scouting prove to be effective. Hahn for a while had a fixation on bringing sinkerball relievers in front of a bad defense. Then Nova was an obssession on strike throwing above all else. Due to colome/herrerra/banuelos, in terms of production we are at a pretty similar level as the twins. But wouldn't you rather be actually getting an .850 ops out of your dh if that was your goal? Wouldnt you rather actually spend 16 million for that vs. 8 million for .700 ops? Anyway they are bad at paying an extra 4-5 million for players that are not 4-5 million better than the 3-4 million dumpster dive players, while resisting paying 5-6 million more for people that are legitimate starters.
