  1. I don't see why that wouldn't be sustainable.
  2. Yeah, and I think bigger sign with the 4 seam usage is so little control of their offerings that they have to consistently revert to "what they can control" i.e. 4 seamer which still isn't very good. That said, I am not pleased with the plans the sox have given these guys to attack the other teams hitters. edit: When you are 65% 4 seam fastball, you can sit fastball every ab, and he has so little control not even feel self conscious about getting tricked. He has to change up his offerings.
  3. Yeah and fulmer can go more than one inning (unless he's bad) (that does happen a lot) (hmm...starting to rethink this)
  4. Last year of course was ripe with HS pitching talent, and sox picked a college outfielder in the second round.
  5. After one of the hottest hitting teams in baseball visited over the weekend, now the sox get one of the stingiest pitching staffs, led by Blake Snell. It's a beeeeeeee-auty of a day for the 6 people that can attend the game. And to make the sox heavy RH against Snell, that's right, we have a two catcher lineup.
  6. To be fair he has been the low man on him this year.
  7. Just for record, while saturday was uniquely bad this has been an ongoing issue for me at sox games. I get that it's hard to project, but that's not completely exhonerating to me because part of the decision to go to more games is when you decide on a whim to go. That happens less when you think it's going to be a pain (especially with kids, where the times you get up to get food is multiplied). But there was a lot of good insight here, and as I have said, this usually is the worst early in the year and they figure it out as they go.
  8. Lopez has actually increased his four seamer usage to 64% this year. Mixed results Id say!

  15. I still worry with Vaughn. Yes, I am one that complains about body scouting being too inaccurate/too relied on, but it worries me that Vaughn doesn’t appear to have anything more that he can tap into. In this draft, at three maybe that’s still one of the best profiles available. But you really don’t get that many chances (hopefully!) to get a player with the types of athleticism/power of Witt or athleticism/speed/potential of Abrams.
  16. This also sounds spot on. The lines can seem more intimidating for the Vienna stands but they move way faster. I don’t know what the deal is with the outer ring. Perhaps it’s the staff constantly dealing with new food items so the early on is rough. I will say the stadium is always much better in August for some obvious staffing reasons.
  17. Ding ding ding. The contact rate is what matters now.

To me AA is out most important developmental level. If you can thrive in Birmingham I’m putting down your placemat isn’t the bigs.
  19. Yes football games are always terrible. But baseball stadiums maybe due to the extra space and lower capacity I haven’t found as difficult.
