  1. I'd be fine trading madrigal and covering 2b through free agency. Has been good options last few years for cheap. Requires believing that Hahn can identify a good free agent, but that's the world we are in. Of the positions where you could say "we can feasibly cover this in free agency without worry" I'd point to 2b, corner of and C, and obviously 1b but ideally we can produce a freaking 1b.
  2. So many thought that when we drafted Gavin Sheets, because of the bonus he received and word that we didn't get a HS we had targeted, that it was Chris Seise who went to the rangers. He was out all of last year, but worth noting he has started out en fuego in the Sally. Slashing .529/.600/.882 What could have been.
  3. You really think he is going to be a better RH moving forward? It's fine to move him down when he's batting RH.
  4. I can’t believe Rodon 4 years I’m still doesn’t have an average changeup. He should be throwing that pitch 10- 15% of time.
  5. Part of going to the ballpark is it’s fun to have a polish with grilled onions with an ice cold beer and seeing your sons mouth turn blue with cotton candy. I go to baseball games to have fun!
  6. This freaking mariners offense man
  7. Man this is some kinda run by Robert. We’ve all been waiting for a stretch like this and it has not disappointed.
  8. Sure seems like they've lowered velocity under him and still haven't learned control. But are way more hittable, so that's nice.
  9. He's leaning heavily on his slider, as he should. The sequencing was often terrible. He didn't bother with a changeup until the fourth. He threw one two seamer that I saw. The four seamer has regressed. It's just an odd, odd profile.
  10. Rodon just threw his first changeup. (4th inning, as I said)
  11. I still don't get how a left handed pitcher with a cheat code pitch as good as rodon is so freaking inconsistent.
  12. I feel like engel could randomly hit 3 home runs vs snell like brian anderson v. felix.
  13. Snell's sequencing is beautiful. Props to mccann for getting wood ont he curve you knew was coming.
  14. 3-1 fastball down the middle. You gotta do that thing man.
  15. Jose Rondon should become player-manager, prove me wrong.
  16. I enjoy how quickly we all forgot that the sending out of high quality, cheap talent was supposed to accelerate our rebuild compared to houston/cubs. We had 95 losses in 2017, 100 last year, very likely 90+ this year. To say we have 3 more years of 100 losses is not due to any sort of "plan'
  17. You know, blake snell is awesome and we shouldn't expect to beat him. But everything on the other side of it is quite honestly embarrassing, especially staring in the face an org that has half our resources and continues to outperform us for the last decade.
  18. Castillos approach of "seeing if blake snell will get castillo on base" was a noble shot. Really love not swinging on 3-1...beauty.
  19. anyway i think it's again worth pointing out that every at bat that we started off with a four seam fastball reached base last inning.
  20. But even then, they'll get some old school manager that "knows how to win in baseball", while every other smart org sets up a smart, progressive baseball front office with a manager to execute their plan. I'd be very happy to even have the twins set-up right now.
  21. So, to be a dead freaking horse, pretty much every one of the outs came via at bats that were 100% slider. He obviously didn't have it, he should prioritize getting out of this inning and stop starting every ab with FB FB and going down 2-0.
