  1. This. Cooper was a hell of a coach, and the cooper/schneider combo worked great for years. It's over. And they should have tripled the coaching staff in prep for all of the young pitchers in 2016. But he has too big of an ego.
  2. True, but it's clear they have not invested in the right coaching staff to deal with so much young pitching at once. And to be fair, even atlanta has struggled with that to a point. They've needed vets. Sox since they lost a true no nonsense pitcher with quintana have been drowning.
  3. Thats the thing, the only two batters he was successful against the last 5 were all sliders.
  4. You'd be insane not to sit on his 88 mph fastball. He has to go all slider until they have to swing at it.
  5. It appears 4 seamers that hit 96 in the zone, mixed in with offspeed stuff is a more effective way of getting hitters out than 90-92 fastballs out of the zone.
  6. Ha, I just remembered we are facing blake snell and have maybe a 2% chance of scoring 3 runs, let alone however many are going to score
  7. I think he was just dialing it back trying to get control. It didn't work.
  8. He seems to be a coach that does better focusing on one younger/journeyman reclamation project. He has not handled having an entirely young rotation/bullpen well. They are all morphing into the same issues/pitcher.
  9. I was so excited for dave duncan, but all we see in our game plans is the same crap. Four seamer/single offspeed pitch first time through order, introduction of changeup in 4th, and pray. Also starting off darn near every batter with a four seamer. Giolito's first start was a work of art mixing pitches and speeds, and sadly very rare.
  10. He threw 5 90-91 mph fastballs to mike zunino, none near the plate.
  11. He is telling them to stay tall and ruining their plus offspeed offerings with mediocre cutters.
  12. Rodon is gonna go down to mid seventies just to get his fastball over.
  13. It's a really good pitch still. The four seamer they force feed way too much into every game plan is what he can't control.
  14. This is where i kinda wish rodon would just throw 15 sliders and get out of it.
  15. Right. Like, don't do it in the playoffs, but reasonable risk if you like the lineup.
  16. Yes, today will be the day. And Bush hits his first dinger.
  17. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/daily-prospect-notes-4-8-2019/ On Robert: I thought his chat answer was kinda strange anyway. The injuries I think influenced how his hit tool would look because: - It's obstructed development - His timing and hand injuries constantly put him at points where it may be hard to scout Nice to see those concerns, however, were noticeably quelled after seeing him live during this streak.

    4/7 Games

LOL, I think my mind has naturally processed that 1.118 as his OPS, and finally when reading that I realized that was just his slugging. What a stretch of games man.
