Sox Home Opener vs Ms
Don't care about small sample size, he's probably already matched last years production as a RH hitter with 2 strikes. This is an incredibly encouraging start.

Sox Home Opener vs Ms
I just want to say something positive: mlb gameday has gotten so much faster the last two years.

4/4 Games (Opening Day for Minors)
I have 100% felt that fatigue has been a huge issue offensively with him. But 3rd year in you really hope he got his body right.

4/4 Games (Opening Day for Minors)
One last bummer that isn't really a bummer - the Kannapolis assignment is a big jump for Sosa and Bush, we may have to deal with some growing pains this month. Hopefully by june we see them hanging around.

Let's use this thread to all agree on our favorite player so we can order our jerseys.

Cleveland's was pretty bad.

Ah, that's not so bad then.

The only downer tonight has to be Henzman right? Any word on why he was removed just one batter in?

4/4 Games (Opening Day for Minors)
It didn't. The reason people talk about a juiced ball recently was due to very good and very specific research. The offensive boom of the late 90s early 00s didn't come out of nowhere like the juiced ball did, it came as a result of expansion. In many previous eras of expansion offense went up, this just happened to coincide with PEDs.

So Collins hit a homer right?

ALONSO LINEUP EFFECT
I guess I just have higher standards for white sox organizational moves than "well, it's not going to hurt that much".

2019 MLB draft thread
That's interesting. That leads me to my own preference of not really caring about projecting based off of things like fluidity on an 18 year old with plenty of fast twitch and athleticism. It seems odd that a few more years of reps couldn't make him good at shortstop. I think scouts get too cute with defensive and body projections.

2019 MLB draft thread
but 9 million is only 56% of their total pool. 8.3 Million is 66% of baltimores, that's why I'm wondering if it's really "ricky williamsing"

Moncada
Exactly. The thing you always hold your hat on with moncada is he is athletic, fast, and hits the crap out of the ball. He can get a lot more productive as a player not by massively improving one thing, but improving the margins of his worst tendencies. He doesn't need to become an 18% strikeout guy to be productive, but if he goes to being a 28% guy he'll get more productive hits because he is fast and hits the crap out of the ball. The more he specifically puts the ball in play the better because his natural talent lends him to being a guy that should be more productive in balls in play.

ALONSO LINEUP EFFECT
They should have given them a good player back then too. Really doubled down on making their rival better.

ALONSO LINEUP EFFECT
Well, unfortunately they have hard spending constraints, despite that they've averaged 86 wins this decade. Perhaps this savings allowed them to keep their starting pitching in tact for one more run. The white sox, knowing the indians have spending constraints, therefore helped quite a bit in lowering those constraints and gained very little.

ALONSO LINEUP EFFECT
But he's $6 million cheaper. That they can get comparative production at 1/3rd of the cost is why cleveland was helped by the trade.

ALONSO LINEUP EFFECT
Ah, but what about the first 5 games this year? Check mate. It would be really nice if we were able to organically produce .730 OPS first baseman and not need to pay $9 million for them.

Minor League Rosters
Ah, didn't realize it was a pulled hammy, thought he was still out from the hand.

Wait so is it possible AZ could offer Adley 9 million to get him to 16?
