wow didn't even see Eloy at 8. I would bet $100 he has a better career than Nick Senzel.
-
Sucks not to see any of luis gonzalez, basabe, adolfo, walker or rutherford in a top 130 but I feel 100% confident one of them will perform as one of the top 130 prospects in game for their career.

Right, teams are often not looking to fill a position at all costs where they'll go down a list. If your player has interest from more than two teams, strike while the iron is hot and get signed, don't wait.

I am pro player, but I'm kind of annoyed at the comments about how manny and bryce should have jobs. Making that case for the 100 free agents as a whole? Fair. The pretty decent list of good mlb players signing minor league contracts? Totally fair. But it's not like Bryce and Manny haven't been offered jobs. While I don't think Bryce or Manny are losing any money by waiting and thus keep waiting, I think any player like Moustakas who thought they would have more leverage when machado signs was sorely mistaken. For the mid-level player, I'm not seeing it as clear at all that waiting has benefited them vs taking the first few offers.

Flacco to the Broncos. Elway is a disaster evaluating QBs. I hope Vic succeeds but yikes. May as well trade for Eli.

My guess is they are thinking that Pads have made latest push publicly so are probably most likely. I think that it's clear their finances cannot support Machado with Myers and Hosmer on the books and am not worried.

I think this is going to end up being a textbook example of mental accounting and the kind of stuff you saw expressed in books like Nudge and other behavioral economics. Economists would expect people to be rational try and pay as close to their accurate amount of taxes as possible because they could use that money for things they like or that they could get a bigger return on (getting even a negative return when including inflation from when the money is held by gov't). Instead people liked getting a set of money in bulk at the end of the year to pay of credit cards, loans or even then saving. This is mental accounting. They could have used that money all year to do the same and had access to it, instead they preferred to treat it as separate and get it in bulk at the end of the year. When this corrected itself people are upset. This is where things like opt-ins instead of opt-outs get their big play in places like 401k and other savings mechanisms. Rather than fight against it and claim its irrational, accommodating it to assist them. While saving inefficiently like this isn't optimal, it's better than not saving at all which may have occurred as people were confused what the change in tax law meant for them.

Realizing I never got an email back for the fast pitch thing, oh well.

Crapping all over the cubs Sinclair announcement with machado would really be *chefs kiss* to rub in the crappy offseason for the cubs as they cry poor.

Remember when an image of a Harper bat with Phillies logos leaked and people freaked out? A few hours later the company clarified they just prepared several bats to be ready wherever he signed? That didn’t happen here, no knockdown at all so that feels pretty good.

That’s just the Andy Martino tweets being rehashed

Who was the poster that would only post “don’t stop git it git it”

The police rumors are the gifts that keep on giving.

BOO THIS MAN

Couldn’t the extra security be for the fast pitch thing?
-
This is a great idea.

But where will he get the money to buy multiple gloves?
-
Guys I already told you you didn't need to search because I already figured it out.
-
check the other thread that has spring training tweets.
-
I mean it doesn't mean he's signing, but thankfully it also doesn't mean he isn't signing.
-
Not according to the definitive google image search for "manny machado images"
-
Oh, gotcha. I don't know, they didn't have to add a secondary color. If it was all black I wouldn't bat an eye, but black and white after his balt gloves being black and orange?
-
I feel like I'm dumb, but are you saying the red could mean phillies?
-
Here is an important opinion based on a quick image search (no other research necessary everyone) While in baltimore he wore a black and orange glove. When he went to the dodgers, he didn't keep black and orange, he had a classic leather glove. So he clearly wants to either wear the team colors or no colors and you can't convince me otherwise thanks bye.
