  1. Counterpoint, what if some FAs he signs provide some, if marginal, improvement that papers over another year of so-so development. There can’t just be record improvement next year, there needs to be urgent improvement of the system as a whole.
  2. After nearly a decade of drafting all upside and no baseball skills they switched to maxed out college players that look good until AA. I think one of the problems with the white Sox execution is there is no overarching philosophy or strategy that everyone commits to. It seems like they just hire people they like and let them do their thing, and maybe it’s not amazing but they seem to be doing a good job and because your president and gm have no real guidance on what they want you are never performing against their expectations. Not until years and years of inadequacy eventually get you phased out.
  3. This is a hard day, and I understand responses. I edited the post above, please try to discuss as per the new rules laid out by chisoxfn.
  4. I am starting to feel same way.
  5. Yeah a few posts back I talked about how elusive mail bombers were and this guy was luckily not trying to get away with it.

So how is red dead redemption?
  7. NFC North has been tough. The bad years where a 9-7 team gets it has mostly been due to injuries.
  8. This is reductive but I want to repeat that it's important for the rebuild that whomever Hahn signs this year turns out to be good (or what was expected) and healthy, because his run in the free agent market has been terrible. We talk a lot about whether Renteria is the manager that can get the team to the playoffs, well, the same can apply to Hahn. Not every GM can be good at both teardowns, rebuilds and contenders.
  9. Whoa whoa, sorry, I was not saying 8th seed in playoffs, I was talking about drafting 8th.
  10. I think most contracts here are off by 10 mill here and there, but last year the estimates that players would get were also way off on the high side, so you never know. Will probably be a mixed bag.
  11. Lol i love this. those are my moves I most agree with, though I don’t really feel like trading for Herrera. one, I think Sox are at point their rotation needs to be a competition. Not this “oh hey it’s fine you are the worst pitcher in league” for another season. Make me feel the footsteps (which is now only Cease).
  12. Which is next year but yeah, it’s risky to assume they will be on market but feasting after the big hunt this year could pay off.

Before I had kids I legit forgot about the concept of a stomach flu. that is one thing I truly miss above all else.
  14. For me, I can't get into this stuff until i have an idea of actual placement in lotto. Season is too long and it just doesn't feel like we'll be at good odds at all. I think bulls still could be something like 8-9 seed.
  15. I kinda see it differently. He works his butt off making the offense work for everyone else, and then when he gets the ball everyone just stops moving and expects him to work a post move. He needs more variety of touches. His motor is great. I'm not worried at all. He'd probably be better served running some time with Arcidiacano.
  16. I think one thing that is interesting about mail-based issues like this is how hard they are to track down. Anthrax-culprit was never found. Unabomber took years. A mail bomb to a judge in alabama i think was never found. The austin one I believe was different in that he delivered them himself (?). So at this point you have to wonder if a calculation is that while it's low chance of success, it is a low chance of getting caught. Don't know how to solve it, but scary how successful in avoiding consequences mail terrorism has been.
  17. Yes to carter capps! His delivery is clearly illegal but I enjoy players that infuriate other fanbases for obvious but also innocent reasons (as opposed to, like, if he hits players in the head with fastballs consistently). Also capps seems snakebit and I doubt he pitches more than 20 innings before an injury.
  18. I still love WCJ, however, do you know how through the roof excited I would be if the Bulls had Lavine, Lauri, and traded up for Doncic? All three have ability to run an offensive unit so you could stagger lineups to improve defense. Had the Hutchinson pick + top 5 next year pick done it, I would not be missing a 6-whatever next year pick at all. That lineup would be incredibly attractive to future FAs. Anyway, in the actual set-up whether the bulls succeed with this group is incredibly focused on health. I wish the bulls put more emphasis on that as an organization.
  19. I think sox should allow Davidson to entertain it. Writing is on the wall for him, he both improved quite a bit and also not enough to see him as a piece. However, his pitches look good. Renteria ruling it out looks bad imo. If you only let this guy hit you may be eliminating a shot for him to stay on an mlb roster. What exactly do the white sox have to lose by letting him pitch this offseason? They have to work harder to evaluate?
  20. The last two games have both been fun. Though we lost dunn two nights ago and maybe lost portis tonight. The Hutchinson dunk was vicious. I missed good chunk of game but the last 5 minutes were fun.
  21. I think what I would do is effectively run all ball handling through Lavine and try to find a better defender (shaq harrison?) at the 1.
  22. They should play valentine at the point. He'd get more playing time and there are no better options.
  23. I guess it happened in 2nd quarter but he played through it. Guess our medical staff is top notch. I get that tank is good but cam payne is one of the most offensive basketball players i've ever watched. This sucks.

I feel like we have already seen crypto get hammered in sync with the market, it has not been inverse such as commodities.
