More importantly he keeps hitting xbh. He’s definitely a guy to keep an eye on.

Draft Day 3 Thread, rounds 11-40 (Tracker in OP)
Sox just confirmed Ortiz signed. I do still wonder what we were talking about on draft day on whether PR players signed in bigger numbers this year.

FS: Season Preview; DSL White Sox 2018
I think the last paragraph is actually the most important (not saying to move it up as it is a DSL preview piece). The 2016 class was fairly big and it seems as though all of the notable ones have been moved stateside. Bad news for DSL, good news for our LatAm scouting which hopefully this indicates has hit a groove.

It says they are going to sign four high schoolers. Is the fourth Ortiz we thinking?

Or MLB teams are better at developing them.

Promotions: Affiliate Predictions
Good point on Cordell. Going to need room for Jimenez, Cordell and Tilson. May/Robbins might be outside looking in soon.

Yes. Though there may be a coach in Charlotte they specifically want him to work on. Sounds like Zevala in an emergency could play catcher whereas I think they'd want to avoid that with Collins.

Charlotte also has some MLBers coming down soon. Will need a decision on May, Robbins, Presley soon.

W-S certainly seems to feed off each other. Gotta love them getting hot in the last week of the first half division race

2018 Democrats thread
For those who work at companies that sell things online, you know how much even the tiniest bit of friction in the purchase process can affect sales. An extra click, a poorly placed button, etc. The buyers aren't lazy or stupid, but it's easy to get distracted or something come up that prevents a percentage each time. But you work to remove that friction because you want people to buy the stuff. But with voting apparently there's no amount of scorn that can't be applied to certain Americans that consistently get more and more friction thrown in their way. Many will overcome it, some will have something come up that causes them to miss a step along the way. There needs to be a right to vote. This is nonsense. You can protect voting integrity in the front or the back of the process, you throw it in the front specifically to make it difficult. Why on earth would that be the preferred solution for the Government, except gamesmanship.

Pretty good chance one of those players is the sox pick next year.

The Korea Situation; It's Very Serious
Well there's good and great. The US losing influence is good for China, but ultimately the mechanism that is accomplishing it may very well turn out bad for them.

The Korea Situation; It's Very Serious
I'm not so sure this is great for China. China was dumb to let it get to this point. NK is reluctantly dependent on China. What if NK does start implementing economic reforms and seeks out money to flow in. At best, they have an ally even more difficult than Pakistan as their neighbor, but one capable of becoming more powerful if they open up.

6/11 Games
Man this start by Jose Rodriguez in DSL may be worth paying attention to. That's quite a few xbh. Today a two run single. If he keeps hitting for power that will be interesting.

Fangraphs Top 131 Prospects List
I'm the opposite, I'm not worried about him being a 1b until the sox move him. Currently, both the white sox and online scouts would say Collins is currently not an MLB catcher. They disagree whether he will be. As long as the sox think he is, you just have to wait. The projection of positions is not an exact science, you just gotta hope he keeps improving.
