  1. It's hilarious cause we are going to end up with an all college draft again.
  2. This is one of the worst lineups ever. Maybe 2007 level when we had Jerry Owens and Andy Gonzalez
  3. If we did a redraft in 5 years, do you think the players will go in all of the same order?
  4. Their pitching has been aggressively bad for a while but crazy how much worse that lineup looks with a decrepit Davis. One of the things with that power hitting 1b/DH type. Yes there are theoretically many that can fill it, but when you are not getting production out of that position it's pretty killer.
  5. I assume we'll get more info today, but Fegan said it was an ankle injury. I hope that means it's minor.
  6. Right but that's short-term. You aren't going to sign Miguel Montero for two weeks. Gonzalez is not a good hitter but he's a good defender. You'll have to make due for about 4-5 games with another 40 wRC+ guy
  7. He’s great defensively though, I’d take him now off Balts hands
  8. Why would anyone want Montero? Terrible at holding runners, terrible teammate.
  9. What should have been such a relieving, fun win gets drowned out by a lot of suck. Awesome job by Covey, whose stuff looked great.
  10. I know I know, sox couldn’t have known. But seriously, figure out why your pro scouts keep striking out.
  11. Man Coveys armside fade looks wicked vs LH. I wonder if he’s end up with reverse splits
  12. Man if that’s true... our free agent signings continue to be huge huge busts. welcome Kevan Smith
  13. Hmm. What do they call this thing where there are multiple hits in an inning?
  14. See I like it for opposite reason. With 4 more teams there will inevitably be one guy whose game you can feel excited about.
  15. Eh, college defenses throw a lot of zone or have an abundance of length which is way too successful against college offenses. Those obscure the fact that a lot of their players can't guard or handle motion offenses at all. It's not their fault, they are young, but on any given night you are watching a lot of garbage. Compared to college football, I don't see the variation or ingenuity in offenses like there used to. The pnr offenses are big in the nba, but it's because you have these incredibly skilled big men that rarely are developed in college. It's fun to watch. I see way more hero ball in college. Doesn't mean all college offenses are bad, but as a whole that product is often terrible.
  16. My only worry about not challenging is developing bad habits that won't work above their level. But my main reason to want to promote them is because I want to see them play.
  17. No! Not influential daily columnist Steve Rosenbloom!
