I have seen nothing except what you'd get from his B-R profile and that we signed him in Feb.

Glad that was answered.

And with a pretty nice .160 iso at that age. Said it before but the average and stuff may just be hot streak, but the power has been consistent. Always exciting.

BP puts controls in pitchers though. https://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/22934/framing-and-blocking-pitches-a-regressed-probabilistic-model-a-new-method-for-measuring-catcher-defense/

https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/pitch-framing-data-is-going-insane/ This addresses a lot of it. But one thing, Pitch Framing does try to account for changing zones from year to year and batter to batter: And also you are measuring catcher performance by their relative ranking to each other. One thing to keep in mind is that the difference between the best and worst pitch framers is much smaller now than it was 10 years ago. But the variation year to year for good framers is a new thing, and as Jeff mentions, possibly could be from the floor being raised so dramatically. Because it was raised so dramatically so quickly, it's a good bet that this is just a teachable technique thing that, unlike defense, is not something that would be correlated to a specific feature like being fast, athletic, etc.

The picture of him hugging his dad at home plate really tugs at me.

That's some good sleuthing.

Sounds like Michael Porter Jr is gonna go top 4. Fun while it lasted.

More importantly he keeps hitting xbh. He’s definitely a guy to keep an eye on.
