  1. Heck yeah, I want some f Heck yeah, I want some off the wall stuff.
  2. Maybe, I thought he was like 30-40 because people didn't expect him to stay at short and hit for power, but probably that was last years mid year lists.
  3. Wow Bichette now #7
  4. Isn't it just your working assumption that he was talking about Schnell and not Kelenic? The thing with Schnell is if you don't take him at 4, you probably only have a 10-15% chance of getting him at 47. But if you take him over available talents like Madrigal/Bohm/Swaggarty etc, you have a 0% chance of those guys falling back. I'm not crazy about this strategy, especially a HS outfielder almost certainly to be a corner bat.
  5. Feels like Schnell at 46 overslot is more likely than schnell at 4. Crappy midwest weather, below average runner, you could see some looking elsewhere in a deep class. I'm not that worried. In terms of player type in this draft I'd like if we could pull off round 1 - college hitter round 2 - prep pitcher round 3 - prep hitter round 4 - college pitcher round 5 - college pitcher then a bunch of college hitters and after 8 whatever.
  6. I think at the very least people should spend this year and next just enjoying Lebron without feeling a need to counter with a MJ narrative. As with Michael, there is lebron right now, and everyone else. You can't appreciate how much better he is through stats. You have to watch a guy on a team full of idiots do everything possible to get them to the finish line.
  7. There are so many fun prep and more multi-faceted projects that should be around at 2, i'd seriously rather just bet on spillane in a stretch in round 3 than using our 2nd for beer.
  8. If I had become a GM (this holds even if I was GM because my owner dad gave me jobs and then i just was nice to the other rich people in the league and so got another job) and my wife got me fired because of tweets I'm not sure my marriage would last.
  9. He is not an out of box power hitter.
  10. My take: probably a way less big of a deal when they have a batting eye that can layoff high fastballs. His incredible eye means he can either wait for a good pitch, or if he’s getting worked inside and up, guess that’s what’s coming and load earlier
  11. Man KD sucks. He just got bailed out by a review.
  12. We live in a golden age of information about prospects. Mock drafts aren’t a skill, it’s passing along rumor and constantly changing information to an audience that demands the frivolous exercise. Mock drafts are fun to get an idea of player value. If you want them as a tool to understand who is in the know with certain teams, you’ll be disappointed. Enjoy a free big board of hundreds of scouting video and reports.
  13. He seemingly always has brutal or incredible BABIPs. His average of it is hilarious.
  14. This is the important context. The slot amounts changed with the new CBA. We previously could have taken someone comparable to our slot such as Liberatore, India, Swaggarty etc and got huge savings, much less now.
  15. I would not advocate sox trying to do a massive reach like Schnell in a draft like this, where there is quite a bit of available talent anyway in the top 100. If it was a top heavy draft with 30-40 good players and not a lot of depth, then you try it.
  16. HS guys that thought they'd be top ten or have signability concerns. Hankins, Turang, Adams.
  17. I mean, if I took Schnell, I'm much more likely to give 3.5 mill + out to the second round pick and go after Hankins, Gorman, Turang, or Jordyn Adams with round two. But, as someone else said, the comp teams can easily do that too. I'd much rather just go India/Bohm/Kelenic/Swaggarty
  18. Collins wasn't that big of a surprise, i remember bleacher report having us to them. A little harder at 10 and 11 since they know the board less, but I remember a lot of Corey Ray, Kyle lewis, rutherford, etc. Last year was a ton of JB Bukauskus, Jarren Kendall, Faedo, etc. and I don't remember Burger ever there.
  19. I'd feel a wee bit more confident with Bohm if Sheets had already started to tap into his power.

I would promote Seby first. The Fegan article made clear that Collins has time left at catcher. Better to give him coaching consistency at AA all year.
  21. That's not bad but you'd have to straight up release Asik or faried.
  22. I'm not guaranteeing they won't draft Singer, but last year the 2017 draft thread was complaining about how Jared Kendall was just a continuation of Kenny's infatuation with no-hit athletes, and they wen't with a very much anti-no-hit-athlete. There is no information to assume that the white sox are actually going with singer, so getting upset prematurely is just that.
  23. And if he turns out to to be able to have + positional versatility, that would mean we could buy a plus 3b or elsewhere and constantly move him around, allowing rest/depth without losing production.

Weird, not sure why it's not embedding it for you.
  25. Reading through the scouting reports on the board and BA's list yesterday, "high floor" has got to be the theme of the draft. Even guys people are holding up as players we should draft instead of the high floor guys have high floor labels on them. If anything sounds like if you don't want that you go Gorman or Swaggerty, not India.
