  1. See I like it for opposite reason. With 4 more teams there will inevitably be one guy whose game you can feel excited about.
  2. Why do you see him as a k machine?
  3. Eh, college defenses throw a lot of zone or have an abundance of length which is way too successful against college offenses. Those obscure the fact that a lot of their players can't guard or handle motion offenses at all. It's not their fault, they are young, but on any given night you are watching a lot of garbage. Compared to college football, I don't see the variation or ingenuity in offenses like there used to. The pnr offenses are big in the nba, but it's because you have these incredibly skilled big men that rarely are developed in college. It's fun to watch. I see way more hero ball in college. Doesn't mean all college offenses are bad, but as a whole that product is often terrible.
  4. My only worry about not challenging is developing bad habits that won't work above their level. But my main reason to want to promote them is because I want to see them play.
  5. No! Not influential daily columnist Steve Rosenbloom!
  6. Without people noticing, the NBA has become a much more pure form of basketball than college, especially since they actually play defense. The only thing a bit boring about basketball at the moment, and it's similar to the K/Power issue in baseball, is the realization that 3s are the best thing to shoot means if you want to know who will win it's just who made the most of their 3s that night. ?‍♂️
  7. Oh, the nba playoffs, when people feel the need to go into this thread and talk about how they don't care about it.
  8. The rumor is he won’t get past philly but the draft is starting to get silly
  9. Ugh went to bed top of eighth. Great win.
  10. Yeah, I just really thought the firing of Baker and Joe last year were dumb. But, there's also a clear trend toward just getting a players manager that will follow orders from the analysts/front office, so I'm not that crazy about going to some grizzled manager.
  11. This seems to be at odds to me with the fact that some of his best teams had really young players.

    He lives.
  13. It seems like it's been slated to come out "next week" for the last 4 weeks. Kiley said "soon" today in the chat. Edit: he clarified it should come this week.
  14. There is an inverse relationship to how often Heyman writes on a subject to how credibly close it is to occurring.
  15. I've been mostly patient but last night really broke my back. I don't like in anything when managers or people in charge meddle just for the appearance of being productive. The suicide squeeze was to appear proactive when really it just placed the hitter in the box in a worse position. Just let your players play, stop distracting them in the box with low-success plays. Baseballs hard enough. How many suicide squeeze's have they successfully performed this year? 0?
  16. Manny may have done teams a favor by proving he can't play SS anymore before heading to FA.
  17. I know most would say Singer, but if Mize has something bad on his medicals I would probably cut Kelenic a deal at 4.
  18. I read this, really liked it. Sometimes players stay up there long but don't get mocked to the sox, and you forget how exciting they are. Major bat.
  19. If you want to feel good about Bohm for a reason not really related to Bohm himself, check out top 5 3bs drafted in the last 30 years.
  20. bmags replied to Lillian's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I will remember the 2010s for how the white sox would end up in these positions where the only replacements they had for historically bad offensive players was somehow worse offensive players. Our success will be defined by when we need to replace a player for injury plugging in a decent player behind and not players that make 2011 Adam Dunn look decent.
  21. Can't answer this question on stuff, but that could take a while to perform the switch. He was a converted catcher just 2 years ago.
  22. I would be really happy with Bohm. I'm not sure I buy the certainty around position changes. Look at players like matt carpenter. When you need them to play third they'll play third, and use shifting to minimize the damage.
  23. It’s also become a crutch decision that has not worked and has seemed to show he does not trust his players
  24. Hi my names Ricky Renteria, and I want you to buy my management book about how to put your players in the worst position to succeed in their most pressure packed moments.
