He wanted THE Robin Ventura. Can he expected to be able to handle a bullpen? Or, does Cooper get a lot of control?

I think that Quentin will be gone. I also think that the Sox will trade John Danks and Matt Thornton. I believe that they re-sign Mark Buehrle - probably for 3 more years.

Trade Danks, Quentin and Thornton for prospects. Re-sign Buehrle. Let Vizquel, Pierre and Frasor walk. That's about 100 mil. Unless they can somehow move dunn for anyone that costs less. At least they could compete this way.

What's the difference- Martinez or Alomar? Either way the Sox get what they want - a guy that is just happy to get his first gig so he will do whatever they tell him to and they pay him the minimum. Perfect. If both those guys took different jobs then the Sox would find another candidate just like them. They are not getting any LaRussa or Francona or anyone that costs money or has an opinion.

This information does not jibe with my sources. I'm hearing that Carl Everett is KW's primary target. The deal is all but done. Supposedly, he's got Manny Ramirez locked up as 3rd base coach and the new hitting instructor will be Milton Bradley. Tony Phillips will be the bench coach. I'm looking forward to things being less volatile with the White Sox.

It really wasn't very hard. They were huge gambles all 3 of them. Peavy - huge long term contract. Bad gamble for a pitcher to begin with. Coming from most pitcher friendly park in all of baseball and NL to AL. This after just witnessing how much less effective Linebrink was in exactly the same circumstances. Most importantly of all, Peavy was INJURED at the time of the trade! Lastly, KW was so stupid that he continued to offer the same package after Peavy was injured as he did before it and at the time the deal went down San Diego was even in more dire straits financially then before and desperate to unload his contract. But, with Jake being injured no other GM was dumb enough to even take on the contract beside throw in 4 pitching prospects to boot. Adam Dunn- bad baseball player. Have you read everything he's said about what he's going to do after this season? He doesn't say I'm gonna bust my ass, I'm gonna train harder, get in shape, I'm gonna try this try that talk to this guy etc.... Nope. All you hear from Dunn is I'm gonna clear my head and start over. Always been a lazy guy that doesn't love the game. He will be little better next year. The Sox better find some way to get him back to a NL team this winter for something useful or this will be the worst 4 years you can imagine. Even at his best he could do very little to help a team win a game. Some guys are NL players - look at D. Lee. He sucked for Balt. but as soon as he gets to Pitt. he starts raking again. Rios- this is the one that I am willing to consider giving KW a pass on. The contract really was ridiculous and a huge gamble for that reason. However, at least it didn't cost any draft picks, prospects or talent. And, at least Rios is a real ballplayer - 5 tool. He runs the bases well, can steal, can play all 3 OF positions well, hits for average and power. His problems are mental and in attitude. He can still be a good player and in ALL FAIRNESS was the best player on the team in 2010. However, we are only scratching the surface here of KW's many dumbass deals of the past 4 years - both Swisher deals and a real killer for along time will be David Holmberg and Dan Hudson for Jackson ! How dumb can you be? Juan Pierre ? The list goes on and on..... KW is only good at one thing ( and that's how he built the 2005 team) and that is finidng bargains. Dye, Iguchi, AJ, Pods, El Duque and Contreras. Later, Andru Jones, Humber etc.

He should be Latin and from Venezuela so that he can attract lots of talented free agent players here from his homeland since he is well-respected and charismatic and that would give this franchise an advantage over others. Oh wait, that didn't work.

I never like to use the excuse " well, who's he gonna knock in" ? but, yeah, who ? He's been batting behind Beckham, Rios and Dunn all year. I would like to see more but I don't think Pujols would have knocked in even 70 in Morel's spot on this team.

Wow! If true.... 1. Very very sad. Kenny Williams still here ? Since 2007 he's been the worst GM I have ever seen. I guess screwing up 15 out of your last 20 deals isn't enough to get fired when you work for Reinsdorf. Must have been that Phil Humber signing that saved his job. 2. If Ozzie is out then why don't they get a ballplayer from Florida for him? Any ballplayer is better than nothing. 3. After Ozzie and his sons are gone I figure it will take about 2 years for my headache to go away.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ozzie and Kenny were both back in the same positions next season. It seems to me that Jerry Reinsdorf is getting too old and too soft to effectively run this organization.

I'm gonna say this, I have a lot of respect for Jerry Reinsdorf. I am certainly not agreeing with everything that he has done but overall he has been a good owner for the Bulls and Sox. However, if he retains either KW or Ozzie after this season then I will have lost faith in him as a capable owner of this baseball franchise.
