There is no possible sanE argument for Kenny Williams deserving to keep his job. That's better.

Exec's believe both Oz and Kenny could be gone
WHITESOXRANDY replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's not going to matter who the White Sox manager is next year. They still have Dunn, Rios and Peavy. And worse, still have Kenny Williams making deals. -
dUNN IS A REALIST. hE IS NOT A BASEBLL PLAYER.

Which of the underperfomers will figure it out in 2012?
WHITESOXRANDY replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Beckham is most likely. I say this because I believe that if he had come up with another team he would be a star now. The Sox don't know how to develop position players well. He might figure it out next year on his own. He's a smart kid and a real competitor. Rios next because he clearly has the talent. Does he have the head ? I don't know. Dunn will never play anywhere near the way he did before in the NL. He's not suddenly going to become a student of the game, a workout warrior or an intense competitor. Ain't gonna happen. He's getting old. He never was a good ballplayer. Never had any ability to help his team win games except the dinger. He never cared too much. He was just a huge oaf that could hit it far when he occassionally connected. I wouldn't even call him a baseball player. He's gotten where he has on natural ability alone. Now, as he moves into his mid-thirties and is already rich he isn't going to suddenly start busting ass and learning how to play baseball. -
Wow! Not only is this completely wrong but it's also the funniest thing I've ever read on this site! Congratulations !!

Sox Did Not Put in a claim on Kubel or Thome
WHITESOXRANDY replied to The Ginger Kid's topic in Pale Hose Talk
With the way the Sox draft what difference would it make? -
Shrek does sound intimidating.
-
Thome's a great guy. Let him go out with a winner. It would be a shame to see him possibly end his career with this mess.
-
But, does he have any sons that made their high school teams so that the Sox can draft them real high ?
-
Or, they could have just kept Nick Swisher. Oakland and the Yankees have been happy with him. The only bad year of his career was with the Sox. What does that tell you? He wasn't expensive. He hits from both sides of the plate, hits for power, takes walks, can play 1B and all 3 OF positions. But, the Sox....oh forget it.
-
Yesterday, I was thinking 27-15 would be needed for the Sox. Now that AJ is out is that possible ? Hmmm. Well, if they win only 1 of 3 against Cleveland now then they must go 26-13. I don't see how that's possible unless their offense is better than it has been all year. This is a crucial series where there is a big difference between 2-1 and 1-2.
-
Having Sale in the bullpen again next year would be a huge waste of talent like having Quentin on the bench as a pinch hitter. The Sox can't be that stupid so he starts next year. That means that one of Buehrle, Floyd or Danks is gone. It has to be. They are stuck with Peavy and next year he should be set-up to be their best starter - barring another injury. It would make no sense to move Humber or Stewart when they are so cheap and apparently pretty good. If they re-sign Mark then they must trade Floyd or Danks for a hitter. I would imagine either a 3B or an OFer that can mash or leadoff.

I don't believe managers make much of a difference. However, GM's make a HUGE difference. Especially when they suck. The Sox desperately need to get KW out of the organization. What are the chances of this happening?
-
LaRussa is of Cuban descent. Is that okay with you?

Time to dump Thornton at waiver deadline
WHITESOXRANDY replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't know who or what that is but I like it! Now, I forgot what I was gonna say..... -
Are you serious? KW has had the whole run of the place for many years. If he's not the entire problem then he's at leats 75 % of it.

Complete White Sox draft and signings list
WHITESOXRANDY replied to southsider2k5's topic in FutureSox Board
I'm a White Sox fan and I wouldn't sign with this pathetic organization right now. -
It's not even close. Kenny Williams is by FAR worse than Ozzie. Ozzie would be hired by many teams in baseball to manage. KW would never be offered another GM job. The results of this poll are the most ridiculous of any I have seen on here.
-
1. I don't know anything about this twitter situation or what's going on. But, I did see a photo of Mrs. Teahen. i wish all women looked like that. 2. I have no problem with Ozzie's managing ability. But, I truly hope that he is fired after this season just so that I never have to hear from or about his sons again.
-
What would cause anyone to believe the AGon would even want to sign with the Sox ? Even if they outbid everyone. Lots of players would rather sign with another organization and I don't blame them.
-
That's a nice haul for him. I would take something similar for Thornton. The Sox paid Thornton like they were pretty sure that he was gonna be their closer. He's getting overpaid for a setup man with only a fastball.
-
It would be ridiculous for Jerry to let Kenny try to add anything to this team. Jerry should be insisting that he start unloading. This team wasn't going to win the division before Detroit and Cleveland loaded up on talent. Now, there is no chance that this lifeless team of dogs is suddenly going to miraculously and inexplicably catch fire for the next 2 months.
-
He just wants to distract attention from the Jason Werth signing.

Confirmed: White Sox claim on Alex Rios on waivers
WHITESOXRANDY replied to prochisox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I have to say that out of all of KW's blunders over the past several years this deal is the only one that I liked at the time. Because, I figured atleast the Sox gave up no talent at all to get him - no draft picks, prospects or M.L. talent. So, you figure how much worse could a guy be then hehas been when he's still in his 20's ? It's so weird how the Sox have 2 of the most mystifying dropoffs in recent baseball memory on this team right now in Rios and Dunn. It's wild.
