Which Sox Prospects do you Think Are Untouchable
WHITESOXRANDY replied to White Sox Josh's topic in FutureSox Board
Noone ! A World Championship is untouchable. -
what is Joe Morgan's problem??
WHITESOXRANDY replied to LosMediasBlancas's topic in The Diamond Club
I heard that Sandberg slept with Morgan's wife. I think that is what this is really about. -
I was just at Comerica for Saturday night's game against the Twins. If the Tigers are in the wild card hunt, I think someone forgot to tell them and their fans. The ballpark is great but the place was half empty. The Tigers were listless and were playing a bunch of rookies and backups - I know they played a noon makeup game before that. But still, there was no buzz or sense of urgency to me. It seemed as though everyone was playing the season out.

I think that you are on the wrong website. Try www.cubchubbie.com

BORCHARD'S READY for palookaville. I hope KW deals him now.
-
He is out looking for the flubs last winning decade.......the 1930's.

An outfield of Anderson, Pods and Rowand would be the least productive outield, offensively, in baseball. There would be not even 1 big hitter in your outfield. It would be tough to win with that. As it is right now, even with Dye pounding the ball, th outfield production is below par.

What would you do if the Sox won the World Series?
WHITESOXRANDY replied to crash's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I already told my wife that if the White Sox win the World Series, I vow to always wear somethng that says "World Champion Chicago White Sox" on it. I am talking about some hat, shirt, etc. referencing this World Series - every single day, unless ofcourse I have to wear a suit or something. -
I wanted the Sox to get Rogers 3 or 4 years ago when he was begging for a job and noone wanted him. Then the Twins sign him and he leads them to a division title. I remember that we were dying for a fifth starter for years and he couldn't get a job - he kept signing a 1 year deal for about 1 mil. but Kenny was never interested. I doubt that he'll be interested now with all this nonsense added to the situation.

Borchard's White Sox career is over - as it should be. It's taking him way too long to learn and make adjustments. And, adjustments are what hitting at the big league level is all about. Another organization will take a chance on him. It would be nice if the Sox could get "something" in return for him. Anderson will not be starting next year. The Sox could only break him in if they still had Lee and Ordonez. If he's on the team, he'll be the 4th outfielder. I do agree that if Rowand does not have a good second half, he may be gone next year. I'd be shocked if Dye becomes a first baseman.

This is interesting. Konerko doesn't fit this team's plan but Dunn does ? Konerko is a good player and a good leader but he isn't worth $10 mil. a year just like Jaggs wasn't worth $ 15 mil. Although I think that many fans are underestimating Konerko's leadership on this team, I think that the Sox could spend the money in a better way.

Wake me up when they release Gordon or Rivera

Borowski wasn't good when he was good.

uh, no

All teams seem scary when they are on fire. Winning 12 of 13 is impressive. But, we all know that they will cool off. Right now, at 8 1/2 back, we do not need to worry. However, that can change easily. If they get within 5-6 games, then we need to be concerned. Regardless, we must play better than.500 against them.
-
I like Paulie but he is only worth 6-7 mil. a season. I really want Todd Helton ! If we have to pay Konerko 10-11 mil, I would rather pay Helton 13 or 14.
-
Unless the Sox tank before July, they will have atleast 4 All-Stars. They are Garland, Buehrle, Hermanson and Iguchi. Possibly, Pods, Hernandez or Konerko.

if we are still in first place at deadline
WHITESOXRANDY replied to soxfan420's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They won't add an outfielder with Thomas and Gload coming back and Everett able to play out there. Plus, their farm system's strength is outfielders. They will not make a trade here. I would think a closer or a middle infielder would be the areas to look at . Billy Wagner would be an outstanding pickup if we didn't have to give up too much. However, he is still very expensive and I doubt the Sox would do it unless they start filling up the place ASAP. Also, I doubt the Phillies will be so far out of it that they would unload him and if they do, plenty of teams would be interested. -
Hey Ozzie here are a couple of rules to live by in managing your bullpen. It's just basic logic but apparently that eludes you : If the pitcher is getting hitters out - leave him in. Conversely, if he is getting hammered (i.e. 2 home runs ) - take him out. Do you think you can follow that, Einstein ?
-
I've always been on the Crede bandwagon. If the Sox unload him, they're going to regret it. Crede is a stud. He will be as good as Mike Lowell one day. The guy just had to make some adjustments. It's not like he had 5 bad years in a row. I predict for Crede this year - .267 , 28 homers and 88 rbi's - and next year even better. And, you don't have to worry about the guy on defense.

chemistry is overrated. That's what I tried to tell my girlfriend. Now bend over.

I don't want to sound overly optimistic about one of our prospects but I am very confident of this happening this year : El Duque will get injured in his first start, April 8th. Then, McCarthy will be brought up to replace him in his next start and throw a no-hitter against Cleveland on April 14th. He then rattles off 12 straight wins before losing at the end of June. McCarthy pulls into the All-Star break with a record of 17-2 and is named starting pitcher for the A.L. After the break, he throws a perfect game against the Royals and finishes the season with a record of 28-5. I think that this is pretty likely to happen this year. If not him , then Tetsu Yofu. Just watch - Jon Rauch is going to the HOF.
