Maggs real health status from him and his agent
WHITESOXRANDY replied to SoxFan562004's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ordonez isn't worth that much healthy. He doesn't bring people to the park and fill the seats like Sosa or some players - the Sox attendance still lagged with him. He doesn't lead his team to championships. The Sox made the playoffs once in hois 8 years. When he was in the playoffs, he did nothing - unlike Beltran who raised his level of play when it mattered most. He plays RF . The only easier positions to fill are LF and First base. He is not a switch hitter or lefty. It's easiest to find RH hitters. He is not a base stealer. Etc. -
Jaggs wasn't all about the money. He felt loyalty to the Sox and Sox fans - that's why he accepted their 5 year $70 million offer. Oops! It's not like Konerko or Dye would be easy to sign or accept a tad less to play where they want to. Oops! Jaggs said he wanted to stay in Chicago so that's why he accepted the Cubs 2 year incentive based offer like Garciaparra. Oops ! Jaggs went to the best situation for him. A team that lost 119 games the year before last and a park where has hit .250 with 1 homer in his career. Oops! I wish people would quit calling Jagglio greedy.

Valdez is nothing. He was all the Sox could get for the useless Billy Koch. We are talking about a guy that didn't even sniff the big leagues until last September at age 26. He was never a highly rated prospect. He has no high ceiling or potential -this is as good as it gets with him - a fringe major leaguer. He has no power, no great speed, low OBP, average glove at best. Valdez doesn't add anything to the Sox. He is basically a warm body in case Uribe breaks his leg. If the Sox had to use him regularly in any key stretch , they are in trouble. I agree, I would have been much happier with a veteran utility player, like a Ramon Martinez, on our roster. This is our only questionable area right now. I hope KW has something still up his sleeve here.

We'll score more runs than last year and more importantly we'll score "the key run" we need more frequently.

This is great for the White Sox. A team in their division is wasting a SUBSTANTIAL portion of their payroll on a player that can't play. That's great! This will help the Sox for years.

I'm really rooting for Ozuna to have a good spring because I am thoroughly unimpressed with Wilson Valdez.

JUST BURN IT ! JAGGLIO SUCKS!

I'll never understand all the posts from people that want to trade our depth. Are these the same people that will cry when we have an injury and we have to put players in that are not ready yet or just a huge dropoff from our starter ? If Timo is as good as you say he is and he is on our team, why do you want to unload him ? We need as many good players as we can get. The best teams are on top after 162 games because they have depth. Finally, finally, finally, the Sox HAVE some depth almost everywhere! Be happy!

I hate Jagglio. I doubt he'll ever play like he did before. And, if he does eventually recover fully in a year or two, he'll be 32 or 33 with only a few years left before age catches up to him. People forget that he's not young like Beltran who is just entering his prime years. I hope whoever signs him, regrets it. He is probably the greediest s.o.b. I can think of. I wouldn't have cared if he wasn't such a liar. He could have just said that he wanted to test free agency and was going to the highest bidder - don't talk all that crap about wanting to play for the White Sox. f*** Jagglio! OOO-EE-OOO TAD-A-HIT-O !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
NOT GONNA HAPPEN. The Sox are high on Crede - and with good reason. They aren't trading for another starting pitcher - and definitely not Weaver if they do. If a starting pitcher goes down during the season, they could always trade Crede then. I doubt they are going to take a chance on the Jap. 3rd baseman - they have not even seen Iguchi play yet and don't know for sure if he'll pan out.
-
That's a great bet and I'll be looking to make some just like it. The Sox will win 90-95 games - maybe more. The flubs probably won't win 90.

Larkin is about all that's left and he has never played 3b or 2b.
-
This post blows ! f*** Jagglio.

Listening to you Willie haters, I've concluded one thing - Uribe is going to be the tiredest ballplayer ever. He will be playing ss, 3b and 2b. He is the starter and everyone's backup. How does that work ? We need 2 infield backups. They keep Harris. They know he can play second if Iguchi goes down. But first, Iguchi has to beat him out. Why is everyone so sure that will happen? Noone has seen the guy play. He's had 2 good seasons at 30 years old. What if Harris has improved from last year and Iguchi doesn't perform all that well in spring ? Then, we need a backup ss / 3b. A veteran would be nice but who's left ? If we get rid of Willie, we still need 2 backups. Who do you want - Ozuna and Valdez ? That's a joke. It's questionable whether Valdez is even a big league player.
-
I think you guys are way off. Harris is not going to be traded. Noone on the Sox has even seen Iguchi play yet. They have to sure of himbefore they can even think of trading Harris. Also think about this, if Crede, Uribe or Iguchi goes down, who is going to fill in if Harris is gone. Just about all of the utility men and infielders are gone. Noone wants Aurilia. Larkin will probably retire unless someone promises him a starting job. I say the Sox keep Harris and with good reason.
-
I've never been a big Everett fan but I believe that he will have a very good season because he wants to - if he is healthy and in shape he can be a big plus for this team.
-
umm....Neal Cotts ?
-
They can't afford to keep Burke because their middle infield is not deep enough nor strong enough. Also, with A.J. playing 120-130 games, Burke would get very little playing time.
-
The Sox will not carry 12 pitchers - probably Adkins goes to Charlotte or is traded. Escobar and Borchard start in AAA. Even if Iguchi is signed, Harris stays. Noone knows how Iguchi will play here and Harris is a lefty bat and pinchrunner. I would prefer to see a veteran ss backup but KW may have Ozuna and Valdez battle for that spot. I've never seen Ozuna but I've seen Valdez - so I hope Ozuna is better. It's very doubtful that the Sox keep 3 catchers. Burke stays in Charlotte as insurance - as he should.
-
That's Phil Rogers. He probably wrote that story because he follows the Sox more than any other team. Believe me Phil would love it if the Sox won - he's a fan.
-
If Ozuna is any good at all he can beat out Valdez. Valdez is almost worthless and doesn't belong on a major league roster.
