  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) Sounds like the Hawkeyes' excuse after the Outback Bowl. A little bit of a different story.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 03:31 AM) Now cmon no way in hell would Duhon start over Francis... im not a huge Francis fan but no way he sits over Duhon. Why not? When comparing the two, I don't think it's even a debate between who's the better pg.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 7, 2006 -> 02:59 AM) because you overate Duhon he prob wouldnt start on almost every other team..... and Gordon has played a lot better as of late passing the ball more on offense, shooting better, and playing better D. That and Skiles is trying basicly anything and everything looking for something that might work. Duhon is a 10/6 guy who plays great d and doesn't turn the ball over, there are plenty of teams he'd start for. Ben sucks and shouldn't even be getting playing time and definitely shouldn't be starting.
  4. I would also like to know why duhon was benched and ben was inserted in the starting lineup? Ben is horrid and Chris has just become such a good player and could be a starting pg for a lot of teams. Not complaining after tonight's win but it just doesnt make sense to me.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 10:01 PM) Steve Nash already has 10 assists, and the 1st quarter hasn't even finished yet. He finished with 12 in the first. Not bad.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) EVERYBODY is dirty. Bingo.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 6, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) I think you have to include Schuerholz. Bingo. Him and Kenny are 1-2 in my book at this point. I've had this argument with wite before but even though Beane is a good gm you can't rate a guy that high who has never won a postseason series imo.
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) Well, the team got very lucky last year, and its unlikely that they will be as lucky next year. Lucky because we won close games with a fantastic bullpen?
  9. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) I don't want to clutter up the board, but would it be possible to have a recruiting thread? It could be seperate for b-ball and f-ball, or we could just combine them in one thread. I dunno, it might just be me not wanting to let go of college football yet. I think that's a fantastic idea.
  10. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) And as Jico implied, ERA isn't that good of measure of a pitcher. Not as bad as RBI for hitters, but still not very accurate. WHIP is better K/BB is good K/9 is good DIPS is great ERA is blah Personally, I think ERA+ is a pretty good measure of pitchers worth. ERA+ is adjusted for park and league averages, which makes season's like Garland's, Garcia's, Count's and Buehrle's seem that much better. The Sox were second in MLB in defensive efficiency though, no doubt that helped all those guys' ERA+'s Those are all secondary stats to era when it comes to looking at a pitchers effectiveness. If you think k/9 is more important then era then..wow.
  11. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) Over 70% of you guys predicting over 95 wins. Pesonally, I think that is crazy, not that crazy, but still crazy. The pitching staff comes back to earth as does the defense; the offense is slightly better: 93 wins is good enough for a playoff berth and then anything can happen It's crazy to imagine that a team who won 99 games last season and has improved in the offseason will win 95 games next year?? Yup, sounds pretty f***in crazy to me.
  12. There needs to be a warning sign on juggs posts, my head is killing me.
  13. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) I think one full year. It is.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) So is that lost hope for this Spartan fanatic? Still very much alive but Illinois is just playing suffocating d.
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) I am not really watching as I am in the newsroom at work, quick recap for me someone, please. Dee Brown isn't missing. That's all you really need to know.
  16. SIU with another solid win over Indiana State. So here's how I see it, Indiana State beats Indiana, SIU beats Indiana State, so.....SIU>Indiana.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) Sam Ryan > Erin Andrews Incorrect.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Um....what, the, f***? So I'm checking out at Office Depot getting some stuff for a school project, I'm like the only one in the store. She hands me the bag and I turn to walk out. Then she goes, "Did you know.....Jesus loves you." I was like ok and proceeded to leave... WHAT IN HELL? She's lying. Jesus hates you.
  19. BP's credibility goes down more and more by the day.
  20. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 03:28 PM) Calhoun is better. SB Haha, I knew that was coming.
  21. Just a random question: If Troy Smith played the whole game against Texas, are we talking about OSU as national champs today?
  22. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) Not everything. But it's pretty damn close. Ya....no.
