  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 02:35 AM) I only have two words to say about this stuff. BO GUS ^^^ I almost wish we could play these guys a few games and just beat the s*** out of them so this non sense is quieted.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) Tub of Goo!!!!
  3. ..and I'm Bartolo Colon. Boo.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) So it's closers you dig, eh? Dustin Hermanson is your White Sox dream date. Show up in bell bottoms and maybe he'll let you shave a flower into his head. He's cheating on me?
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 5, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) But Vince isn't leaving. Even Mack Brown talked about it and he said he fully expects young to be back. Vince is a goner.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) If we can get Qualls than I like the deal much more... especially if you add in a prospect. But is Qualls or the prospect even rumored in the deal or are people just saying what they want? That was me just throwing it out there. Taveras isn't going to be the only one the Sox get for JC and Qualls makes a lot of sense because he's a good, young, cheap reliever. Hirsh is just their top pitchign spect so again something the sox would want. That's just me making s*** up though.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) Burke did play some 2b last year also? Still, I think the Stros do have to move someone for pitching, especially with the Rocket likely gone. Burke is a natural 2b but Biggio is still around.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) If Vazquez is all those attributes, why has he been disappointing the last two seasons? In all honesty, I'm not worried about him though. I'm still just thrilled that we got rid of Duque and his contract. I couldn't be happier about this offseason. However, if we do trade Contreras, my only argument is that I hope we get equal value to what we gave up in our two previous trades. Look, Hirsh is the top spect in the stros system and a fantastic arm, Young might be the better spect right now but Hirsh would come in here and be our top spect right away. Then you take in age, contract, and obviously most importantly production and Taveras and Qualls are so much better then Viz and Duke it's not even funny.
  9. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 09:17 PM) If KW made that trade, he should immediately be fired. Ah yes, a good cf who could hit at the top of the order, a very good reliever, and a top prospect. Like I said, I don't want to trade JC at all but if we do that is definitely a package I'd look at.
  10. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Lane RF, Willy T Center, Preston Left. Berkman plays First No, Taveras is gone. You are also forgetting Mike Lamb, Jeff Bagwell, and most importantly Chris Burke who is going to play somewhere.
  11. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) I agree. Jose is worth more than just Taveras There is no doubt about that. I'm a fan of Taveras, I'd personally love him hitting 2nd. Anyways, I've said before I do not want to trade JC. If we do trade him however, Taveras, Qualls, and Hirsh is something I would like the Sox to look into.
  12. 12-0 Florida is beating up on 0-10 Morgan State. That doesn't seem like a fair game.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Well then.. if that the case I'll pray for small crowds so that we wont have to worry about seeing your fairweather ass there much this year.. :rolly
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 03:50 PM) As s***ty as he was doing he was still out there trying to get his teammates asses in gear. Raffy and Sosa killed that team with all their bulls***. What did they do?
  15. Just buy the Sox Pride dvd.
  16. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 11:17 PM) I like Widger and it's too late to get Olivo now but check out Olivo's career splits versus lefties... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7028/s...er&type=Batting career vs. Left: .910 OPS career vs. Right: .569 OPS He would have truly made the perfect platoon partner for Pierzynski. No, he would make a horrible platoon partner. He can't call a game, he's got a gun but he can't catch the damn ball. Widger is so much better then Olivo it's not even funny, and I love Miguel.
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 03:01 AM) Here's my thoughts on Derek Jeter. If had played his entire career with the Chicago White Sox or the Minnesota Twins, he'd be considered nothing specail. He's a good (not great) SS and a clutch hitter. He also has some damn impressive intangibles as part of his game. He knows the game and plays it using the best tool he's got ... his brain. But, if he wasn't in NY, he'd never make the HOF. This I agree with. Jeter is a winner plain and simple, the guy makes plays to help a team win. He may be overrated in general but he's a guy I'd love to have on my team any day of the week.
  18. Big game going on right now in the mvc. SIU leading Wichita State by 1.
