  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 09:50 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...00entry887200 That thread is so goddamn humerous. qwerty with another wrong prediction too, gotta love that.
  3. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) How does Boras have no leverage? If that were true, he wouldn't be Joe's agent anymore. When was the last time we signed/extended a Boras client that wasn't a draft pick or a guy we traded for? Really, I don't know Crede is not a fa after this season so right now there isn't much Boras can do, because he has nothing to do with the arbitration process.
  4. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) Sheets stuff is undeniably better than Garlands I think the stuff Garland had last season is undeniably better than Sheets' and almost every other pitcher in the A.L. The guy dominated last season. And he's still young. We robbed him from the Cubs and now we're not going to pay him and keep him a Cub embarrassment and Sox start for years to come. That sucks. Stuff wise Garland isn't even close to Sheets but that doesn't mean anything when comparing the two as pitchers.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) Yes, you are bad. :sleep
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Hinske Ya, ya, my bad.
  7. Glaus, Hillenbrand, Overbay, Hinske, Koskie. Someone want to explain to me how that is going to work?

    Naughty or Nice?

    Ok, this thing is freaky.
  9. I absolutely love Bedard, if he can stay healthy I think he's just going to be an outstanding pitcher. That being said, I'd want a solid spect and a solid bullpen arm to go along with Bedard, a lot to ask for but I think it's doable.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) They do have a nice internet site if you don't need it right away... Got my Bobby Jenks jersey today from there.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) Who the hell is the Thomas on the Kings? Kenny Thomas. This team isn't going anywhere with or without Peja, it would be absolutely retarded to trade Deng when Peja is a fa after this season imo.
  12. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5192008 Don't they have enough 3b/1b, Glaus is a very good player dont get me wrong but they are a little overstocked at that position as it is. Though I'm sure Hinske would probably be going to Arizona in this deal.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) I also read somewhere that the Bulls were talking to Petrie about a Deng/Thomas for Stojakovic/Thomas deal. :puke
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) That's an improved lineup...IF people like Hunter, Mauer, and White can stay healthy and if Morneau can produce. In baseball, the more "IF"s you have, the less likely they all are to come true. They're counting on an awful lot of things to go right, which I guess is what you have to do when you're a small market team. Torii just had a freak injury last year, I'm sure he'll be fine. They improved an infinite amount at 2nd base because Nick Punto and Luis Rivas suck, White is an upgrade over Lecroy but like you said he has to stay healthy. Mauer and Morneau will both be better this season and their rotation is going to be improved as well imo. There isn't a team in the AL that scares me more then Minny to be honest.
  15. While the Cards are still going to be the favorites in that division they definitely aren't going to run away with it this year, their pen is thin, while losing Morris isn't a big loss imo they replaced him with Ponson, they're going to have either Luna or Miles at 2nd it looks like. That being said they still have that Pujols guy and they'll be fine.
  16. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) That lineup will be good enough for 3rd place in the Central. 2nd.
  17. That's an improved lineup with their fantastic pitching, they scare me more then the Indians.
  18. Christmas day at my grandma's every year.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 07:04 AM) No, it wasn't. It was however one of the most pathetic displays in the history of sports though. I thought it was funny.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) So the Knicks picks weren't top 3 protected? Nope. Nice, isnt it?
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Haha. I guess it's time. SHES PERFECT FOR YOU...YOU HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON /waits for you to say...thats was weak...like you always do...cuz you think noone can make fun of you Nah, people can make fun of me plenty, you are just bad at doing it.
  22. Willie? qwerty? No jokes? I'm a bit shocked.
  23. Yay for you finally getting a license. I've never been so sure in my life that a person would have so much road rage when they start driving as I am with you. Have a good one.
  24. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) - Garland's agent (Craig Landis) has told the White Sox there will be no negotiations on a new contract. Doesn't matter if the White Sox say 8,9 10 million per year. No negotiations. Garland wants the leverage. - Ken Williams, therefore, is attempting to trade Garland for two bullpen arms, not prospects per se. Although one could be an "on the cusp" guy. (This is the most ridiculous reasoning I've ever heard. If Garland wants mega dollars in free agency he's going to have to pitch his ass off this year. A 3-15 implosing won't get him squat. That said, if he goes 20-2 for us in search of a big deal, more power to him and us. We have him this year. Keep him!!!!! - He also said that Crede will not sign a long term deal here, that it's Boras' job to get the player to free agency (duh). (I guess we'll lose Crede if Boras remains his agent. Again, keep him until that happens. If Joe hits .260 with 23 home runs and plays great defense, is anybody else going to offer him much more than the White Sox? I mean I love Joe but give me a break. Who is going to overpay much more than we will? Keep Joe). - Levine believes Garland could get as much as $9M in arbitration for 2006. Further he states the White Sox are, at present, several million over budget. (Screw the budget. Management needs to ride this into major crowds all season.Getting rid of Garland would be STUPID for business). No teams were mentioned as possible trading partners. Levine said KW's primary objective right now is moving Garland for bullpen help. --I don't understand how trading Garland will help us a bit. I love BMac's potential but he hasn't proven anything yet. He could turn into the early years Garland before he matures. We've already tinkered enough. Keep the rest of the team intact another season!!!! Brandon is mature already, that is where he differs from many other pitchers. What Bmac has proven as that we can count on him during big games down the stretch so he has proven something. Trading Jon isn't STUPID for business if you get a good return, it actually makes all the sense in the world now that we have Vaz. JR has already raised the budget 15 mill from last season you can't just expect him to just say ''f*** a budget" when this team and game is still a business.
