QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) 62-55 Texas 2:01 to go. Hmm.. Basically over now. Big win for Texas, like I said before this is the worst I've seen Memphis play all year.

I love to watch Memphis play. This is the worst I've seen them play this year and they're leading Texas by 1.

The Count possibly to the Astros?
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Right, you watch the games and you supplement what you have seen with statistics, scouting reports, etc. I have seen plenty of Jeter action, and he is nothing special. He is solid when balls are hit right at him, but his range is run-of-the-mill. You only have to watch a few games to find that out. Defensive statistics are crap imo. Jeter isn't the best defender in the world but he's certainly not bad. If you base defense and stats alone then you have to find another tool because they will not give you an accurate judgement of that defender.

Dayn Perry's crystal ball. Yanks 2006 champs
This guy is a turd. Anyways, I'm pretty sure he said in an article like a month or so ago that the Sox wouldn't even make the playoffs.

The Count possibly to the Astros?
QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) Jeter doesn't have great range, but many people don't see this because of highlight reels. They see a play or two in which he's sitting on one side of the field and makes it look like an impossible play, when in reality, its a much easier plays for better shortstops. And let me guess you're making your defensive judgements on range factor? Defensive statistics do just about no justice in showing how good a player is defensively. You have to watch that player play or you'll have no idea.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Only if Michigan was playing.... That call was horrible on the onside kick. I dislike Iowa a lot but cmon now, giving Florida the game on a terrible call. Made me sick.

The Count possibly to the Astros?
Uribe is a better defender then Jeter there is no doubt about that in my mind. That being said Jeter is still a solid defender and while Jeter may be a little overrated in general, he is so underrated on this board it's ridiculous.

QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) I kind of agree. It was a decent thriller, but the ending didn't exactly sit right with me and it seemed like they really were just making it up as they went along. That movie was mostly made up if you ask me.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 11:44 AM) Dismissing his career and calling him possibly the greatest player ever is a wide range. I don't think anybody here is doing either one at this point. Right, exactly. Bron is going to put up ridiculous numbers but he's never going to be the clutch player MJ was and he's never going to be the defender that Jordan was, it's just not going to happen.

Bron is absolutely fantastic but he isnt and will never be close to MJ.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 12:08 AM) Was the movie good? Meh, took way to long to get into the action and the movie ended way to quick, wasn't very well done if you ask me. The killing scenes were solid but overall it wasn't that good imo.

The Count possibly to the Astros?
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jan 1, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) I dont give a damn about his OPS... when your hitting at the top of the order all I care is you getting on base. And yes for a rookie it was a great season considering most rookies dont do that well when they first make it to the big leagues. If im right he made the jump from AA so whats to think he wont improve greatly considering how well he did his first season. I'm with you 100 percent on Taveras.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) Haven't really heard much noise about him this season other than his struggles, unless I'm missing something... Last year's 6th Man was definitely deserved. This year he's been garbage, along with every Bull other than pre-concussion Kirk. Duhon, Deng, Sweets.
