QUOTE(Elcaballo45 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) Not like I want them to get to their bullpen, they'll just throw Shields in for 3 innings instead. That's what we want especially if we have the lead. Like wharris said they can't pitch shields, escobar and krod everyday, make them work as much as possible. Angels running the bases like us. Nice play tad.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) Mac and Jurko supposedly are but they really care more about the Bears and football than anything else. Harry is a Cubs fan so he must have hopped on the bandwagon. Mac's a sox fan, Jurko actually has said he hates the sox and Harry is more of a cubs fan but he's always said he cheers for the sox when they aren't playing the cubs.

Where to go
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) I was about to run out the door, but thought s***, I can't read the game thread and the chance of finding a true Sox fan will be slim to none. I'd much rather watch at home then at a bar.

Still Whining in LA
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Well... No, he did have something of a rep before the Giants. It doesn't matter now, and it's got nothing to do with that play...I'm just sayin. He had a rep of being an asshole basically because of the way he plays the game, he was a leader with the Twins though as well. I love aj, I hope he's around for a long, long time.

Cora dodged a bullet
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Quinlann was the 3rd baseman at the time, not the left fielder. Correct, it's just a bad call cause you don't send him with 0 outs, period. Two outs I would have loved Joey trying to score him cause you have to in that situation. With 0 and 1 outs there is no way you can attempt to score a guy when it's going to be that close of a play.

Good 10/12 dropped third strike images
Great images there, that's the best view you're going to get and it's still impossible to tell if it hit the ground or not. It obviously changes direction and the way Paul's glove is pressed down on the ground I'd almost think it would have to hit the ground to take that bounce. That being said you still can't really tell either way and we'll probably never know if that really hit the ground or not.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 3
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) The key to the game offensively is to make Lackey throw strikes. Plate discipline is not our best feature. We need to make him throw strikes and not to do too much with his pitches. If we can tire him a bit maybe that curve will hang a bit and we can exploit it. We are away from home, so the golf swing homer shots should slow down a bit. It seems the minute we get home our approach changes. This is why we are a better road team. Lay off his curveball with two strikes is my biggest key. The game Lackey just pitched against the yankees he honestly threw about 90 percent breaking balls with two strikes, if our guys can lay off that pitch we should be in good shape.

Who is Pitching Tonight?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:49 AM) The second half has done a lot to temper my enthusiasm for Jon pitching under pressure, in front of his "ancestral home town". To be honest, I have absolutely no clue what to expect from Jon. He pitched pretty solid down the stretch even including the game where he gave up 5 runs against the tribe at the cell. That being said he hasn't pitched in forever but he did do the Kerry Wood special and pitched a simulated game, I just have no clue what to expect out of him tonight.

Who is Pitching Tonight?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 07:47 AM) Lots of reasons to believe either Garland can show up. Lots of rest, maybe too much. Opening game in LA. "The call" atmosphere. 18-10 career year. I think this answer is pretty obvious. The rally crede.

Cora dodged a bullet
No doubt. With 2 outs you send him there but that's the only case, Joey's worst move since being here imo.
