  1. Ha....I hope not, that's not what I meant. I'm just saying I think we'll have money to work with. I don't think it's to much when the Lieber's, Wright's, Clement's are getting 7 plus and in the case of Matt 8 plus, when el duque is arguably better then these guys and some of them have injury risks also. I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one
  2. Well we have the money to play with this year, so I agree with you there that for this year it's fine. Next year Pauly comes off the books and so does jon. I don't think 4 mill a year is that bad and we'll have some money to work with next year. It's also a possibility that the sox won't have to make any starting pitcher acquisitions going into next year with Bmac on the way. I can see how you're a little worried about the money but I think we'll have some money to play with next year and I think we'll be fine, jmo.
  3. Pending Physical, El Duque is signing with the sox for believed to be 2 years 8 mill plus incentives.
  4. Mariotti's daughter goes to my school .
  5. As will I........I really think Alex will sign with the sox.
  6. Up on rotoworld too, looks like this thing is actually going to get done
  7. Exactly, when El Duque is healthy he is atleast a number 3 and last year while he pitched with the yanks he was their ace, that's how good he can be when healthy.
  8. I try not to think about 2003, that team should have won the world series.
  9. Add Pavano and Wright for the yanks
  10. El Duque at 4 mill could honestly be the steal of all the free agents.
  11. In the division it's easily the best, imo. Nobody else has 5 quality starters.
  12. When he's healthy he's definitely a quaility number 3, once again we just have to keep him healthy.
  13. Good point Molto. With the deep pen and already having 4 guys that could probably go 200 plus innings we can be very careful with him. Also you keep him healthy down the stretch and we all know what kind of big game pitcher he is, and that would be huge. I really do like this move, he's still a better pitcher then some that have got bigger contracts then him this offseason, he could be an absolute steal. I'd think now Cora is definitely a possibility.
  14. El duque proved last year if he's healthy he's still one heck of a pitcher. Obviously the most important thing is to keep him healthy. I think it's a very good move though to atleast have 5 starters and we still have some money to work with to upgrade other positions.
  15. I'd actually be thrilled with our offseason if we can sign Wade and Alex or Eck.
  16. By the way that comment of mine should have been in green
  17. Hey, if you're not going to have an elite team, why not have an elite park??
  18. I think the green seats look really cool but I agree with you it's going to look very weird with both colors for a while.
  19. Cause OC has never had good players around him, right?? :rolly
  20. When did he ever bring up fielding percentage?? I think he's proved time and time again in this thread that Juan is a better defender then your butt buddy in anaheim. Juan is a better player, is younger, and makes less money, it's ridiculous to want Cabrera at 8 mill over Juan at under 3.
  21. LOL, when the heck did kenny williams come up in this conversation?? You have such a hatred for him, that you think anything he does is wrong, it's quite ridiculous.
  22. If you think fielding percentage is the only defensive stat that counts, then you're an idiot.
  23. Do you watch baseball?? The point of what Cwsguy said was that gold gloves are complete bs. Juan is 25 and is already a better defender then Cabrera and is a better hitter too. OC is never going to be a number 2 hitter, I'm pretty sure he won't hit 2nd on the angels this year, Cabrera is an overrated and now WAY overpaid player.
  24. Gold Gloves are more a product of hype then anything else. You realize Derek Jeter won the gold glove in the al this year, right???
  25. If the sox get Eck he definitely becomes the 2nd baseman, Juan is a much better shortstop then Eck is, plus David is more suited to be a 2 bagger.
