If the sox look into aj's problems and then talk with some guys already on the team about him then I would love to pick up aj. If I'm kenny I talk to aj and if kenny likes what he hears I talk to Buehrle, Pauly and Frank and see what they have to say. If they're comfortable with AJ in the clubhouse then he'd be an excellent pickup, jmo.
I think this is definitely going to come down to the sox or angels, hopefully he lets his wife sway his decision, I just have a bad feeling it's going to be Anaheim.
This is a bargain for a .283, 23 homer, 74 rbi guy who has the potential to be a gold glover at the most important defensive position in the game. I loved watching Juan play last year and I'm happy he'll be around for atleast the next 3 years.
If this is what it takes to get Matt then fine, it's definitely overpaying but if that's what we have to do to get him here then so be it. He's one of two options left on the free agent market and he's definitely a perfect fit I feel for the sox, he's a strikeout pitcher and he's a groundball pitcher. If we just sign Clement and be done with it I'd be very happy with the offseason. I have no problem keeping willie out there now that he will be the number 9 hitter because him and Juan just might be the best dp combo in all of baseball. I think everyone here wouldn't mind an upgrade at catcher but I for one don't think a davis/burke platoon is the worst thing in the world. Ink clement up and overpay if you have to, jmo.
That "mystery team," is the white sox according to Scott Gregor. It'll be interesting to see where he goes, I hope to god it's the sox but I have a feeling it'll be anaheim, I'm getting nervous about the whole scenario.
Carlos was always one of the last guys I wanted to see up to the plate with the game on the line. He'd look just for the long ball and many times over swing and hit a little pop up to the shortstop.
I was actually the complete opposite. I didn't mind his fielding even though he did make quite a few errors but when he got homer happy and went on those look strikeout streaks, that is when he really angered me.
Only make this deal if it makes your team better, no reason to do it to get good pr. I could careless if we leadoff sportscenter and I could careless if the national media thinks the sox are contenders. If the dbacks demand rowand then forget about it. I'd love rj but I still think the best thing to do is sign Clement and then go after Cora if he is non-tendered.
Ever heard of robbie alomar??? Aaron would be a perfect number 3 hitter, he gots on base, he can run and he does have some pop and ability to drive in runs. Remember robbie batted third in that crazy lineup that cleveland had in the 90's when they had a couple more guys that had more power then him.
Aaron is definitely untouchable in my mind. He was our best defender last year, he was our best basestealer last year and he was our best overall hitter last year, the guy does everything, he's young and he's cheap, you can't trade him.
