  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 02:38 PM) So remember when I was all "it doesn't matter if you have a rotation full of lefties, it's not like you ever want to face Chris Sale?" And the three pitches he offers are a 92-96 MPH fastball, a good slider, and a good changeup? And now the Sox have a lefty who throws 92-96 with a good slider and a (hopefully) good changeup? Yeah, get ready to face Sale/Rodon/Quintana b****es. I'd have no problems with 5 lefties in the rotation if they were all good. I never really understood the opposite mindset.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 12:53 PM) Kyrie is so f***ing overrated. We'll see now once he plays against the big boys what a true star he'll be. He scored a lot of points on a s***ty team that relied on his scoring, but didn't WIN anything. He's played in about 2 meaningful games (NCAA Tourney) his entire NBA career. He's getting rolled over by Rose and Curry at the USA scrimmages so far. People have a circle jerk about him because he played well in a glorified exhibition game. Yawn. I don't think anyone gives a damn about what he did in the allstar game.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) No way. MAYBE the last year with Wade becoming old man Wade, but no way from 2010-2013 when Wade was at near-prime. People completely undervalue Bosh too. He's a damn good player who was forced into a really weird role for those Heat teams. Wade has been old Wade for at least two years now. If Kyrie is healthy and is who I think he is I like Cleveland's big 3 better than Miami's.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) Don't forget Miller too. And maybe the corpse of Ray Allen. Completely forgot about Miller.
  6. QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:12 AM) Those guys definitely have more upside than what the Heat were trotting out there, but the Heat role players were more versatile and fit Lebron better than any of the guys you just named. I think that's fair. But if(huge if obviously) Kyrie is healthy, this Cavs big 3 is better than the Heat big 3 imo.
  7. So if they sign Marion that roster will have: Kyrie, Waiters, Lebron, Love, Varejao, Marion and Thompson as their top 7? Yeesh that's pretty stacked. Pau is seriously going to have to be our number 1 weapon against them.
  8. And I'm with you guys, I don't think Wilkins is a long term option but he's earned his shot and I want to see him in the majors the rest of the season.
  9. That Charlotte lineup has been something else as of late.

    2014 TV thread

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) I'll probably miss him I would have punched him in the face if I were in the house but he makes for entertaining television.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 07:36 PM) Yeah, this. Though I do like the Wizards/Raptors. Their core guys are still young as f***, though. If they take the next step, it'll be real interesting. I like Toronto but I don't think their core is good enough to ever be a conference title contender. I do think Washington's core can get there but I think they're a year or two and a transaction or two away from getting there.
  12. The thing is the Bulls are filled with ?'s too and not just talking about Derrick's health. The Cavs to me are the favorite in the east with Love. The Bulls being their one competitor and the rest of the east is irrelevant as far as actually winning the conference goes.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) That's because you can look at that 2005 team, look at stats, look at career stats, and can pick out some guys that were probably using. It would be far from a shock. Oh absolutely, I mean the great Pablo Ozuna was using so my whole world was destroyed after that anyways.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) As long as it's not Sale, Abreu, PK, Quintana or Buehrle, it wouldn't really bug me. I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't even be bothered by any past players even someone like Buehrle. I just don't want any current suspensions, though it'd be quite hilarious if Chris was roiding.
  15. This whole thing confuses me. Why did the Yankees waive him? And why did nobody in the AL claim him?
  16. Ya no way is Kyrie better than Derrick. Love is a fair argument but I'd still take a fully healthy Rose over him.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:32 AM) I want Lana to sing Happy Birthday to me next year. It's like they intentionally wrote Steph's comments to be more awesome than Brie's, who is just boring in her delivery. Brie just can't deliver a promo and then you put her up next to Steph who is fantastic on the mic and it just makes Brie look like crap. Steph's pedigree's were pretty brutal too, never let go of the Bella's arms so they had no way to protect themselves.
  18. The video I saw of Rodon in Winston Salem was beyond impressive. That slider has some nasty movement on it and his fastball has some great late movement to it as well. I'm a boliever.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) The reports from people at camp was that Fuller had pulled Bennett down by the neck/collar Yup.
  20. There's still no doubt in my mind that Flowers will come crashing back down to earth soon, hopefully I'm wrong.
  21. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 07:41 AM) Here are my star ratings for the Marvel/DC movies I've seen. * = Terrible ** = Average *** = Good **** = Exceptional Batman Begins - ***1/2 The Dark Knight - **** The Dark Knight Rises - ** (The more you honestly think about this movie, the worse it becomes.) Iron Man - ***1/2 Iron Man 2 - *1/2 (This movie was just flat out stupid.) Iron Man 3 - ** Spider-Man - **1/2 Spider-Man 2 - ***1/2 Spider-Man 3 - *1/2 The Amazing Spider-Man - ** The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Haven't seen it. The Avengers - ** Captain America - *1/2 (I thought this movie was really bad.) Captain America 2 - Haven't seen it, heard it was much better than the first. Thor - **1/2 (Without Loki this would have * star.) Thor 2 - Haven't seen it, heard it's better than the first. X-Men - **1/2 X-Men 2 - *** X-Men 3 - * (I'd give this zero stars if I could.) X-Men First Class - **1/2 (I'd give this 3 stars if it wasn't full of incredibly stupid mutants.) X-Men Days of Future Past - ***1/2 Hulk - * (The bad Eric Bana one.) The Incredible Hulk - ** (The slightly better Edward Norton one.) Superman Returns - *1/2 (The bad one where Brandon Routh played Christopher Reeves playing Superman and Kevin Spacey played Gene Hackman playing Lex Luthor.) The Man of Steel - **1/2 (Extra 1/2 because I'm a fan, but it was a bit...much.) Wolverine Movies - Haven't seen any of them, if there even are multiple. I'm sure there are a few I missed, but that should give a gauge on how I rate superhero movies, regardless of general consensus. I find most of them very fun, but there isn't much more there. If it's a movie I won't watch twice, it will never have more than **. So the last Marvel movie you saw you really liked but you're tired of them now?
